  1. You haven't won district but I'm laughing at this attitude. I'll bet the Vidor Pirates will take yall real seriously this week---- you can bet on it. The following week those Jags and will take you seriously. You are hoping all the rest of your opponents has the attitude that you can't win. Take the V's with class and congrats. Yall deserve a day or so of smack talking, but I hope in a few weeks the Ned Bulldogs take you seriously (I know they will). If they don't they'll end up with a big loss tagged on them.
  2. Ugly cafeteria lady Hollering loud back at Soulja "Soulja - Get yoself back here. Not just a side - You deserve a full meal deal of CROW
  3. Big Congrats to LHS. Enjoy it. You beat the team that Dayton showed up with. Not yall's fault that they have a few injuries. It doesn't cheapen your victory. Its all good.
  4. Almost kickoff time for first District Game ------ We'll see in about 7 weeks who wins ---
  5. Nederland wins by 17 Bum is no doubt one of the classiest individuals I have ever met. And he will have you rolling with his stories about Carl Mauck and also how he actually quit Magnolia Refinery (now Exxon-Mobil) and played football because of his boss and the United Way - hilarious.
  6. Oh yea - and only one team went to playoffs back then to. Same era up in Kirbyville - a runnin back named Earnest "Bubba" Bean - Played for the Aggies and Falcons
  7. I only tally 5 takers: "I'm In" so far: For Dayton: Purple4ever dayton geauxbroncos For Lumberton: bhawk Raider88 Man what happened to all the other Dayton and Lumberton fans? Yall can't handle 2 weeks off the board, huh?
  8. Agree - The district is not the strongest in the state, but I think it is considered a "Strong District". This particular year it is definitely NOT the strongest it has been, but 22-4A will hang around a little while in the playoffs. Out of the three playoff teams, I would be real surprised if no teams advanced at least a round or two. (But I have been surprised before.) Hmmm --- I guess 20% of the districts are stronger - 80% weaker - who really knows?
  9. Oh yea Central surprised me for sure last year. I understand (I think) all the "ifs" and "deserves" but they were not DC's last year. They were very good team. But that last post made me dizzy . Based on nothing other than "gut feeling", I think they we will finish 3rd or lower this year.
  10. Have to agree - seems money (or lack of) is the biggest obstacle.
  11. Back in 70,71 at HF, it seemed like every road game was somebody's homecoming. Coach Koening was not happy, and called it an insult to be everybody's Homecoming. This changed over the next several years and didn't get to see those perty homecoming queens anymore. Coach K called it Respect.
  12. Google mapped Richland Springs and may have to make trip to a 6 man game. Only a few hours or so past Austin.
  13. Official Final Standings - Congrats to all teams: 1. Dayton 5-2 2. Central 5-2 3. Lumberton 4-3 4. LCM 3-4 5. Nederland 3-4 6. PNG 3-4 7. Vidor 3-4 8. Ozen 2-5
  14. Man, I would love it if schools like Brookeland and Spurger, who don't play football would get with some of the teams that have severe # problems (Sabine Pass, Chester, High Islland) and play 6 man. I've been threatening for years to travel to the 6man state champ games but they are WAYYY far away.
  15. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Is PATITAN and Bmtsoulja one and the same. I promise I have never seen them at the same time. Sorta like Clark Kent and Superman (Except with NONE of the super powers)
  16. No I would not want to be a coach for the reasons stated by purple4ever up there a few posts. Wouldn't mind too much the SETXBroadcasters screaming bloody murder as long as they were smiling, but they would wear me down. If I did coach I would hire Cards_mom - She seems to have my philosophy on fairness (and she could also cook the pre game meals and wash dishes) WAIT I'm just kiddin about the dishes but you would have to cook) ;D
  17. Coach Jack Lynch - C.O. Wilson - Nederland, Texas First day of 6th grade P.E. He is the first person to address you as "MEN, Here is how the combination locks work. Don't forget your combination - I'll put the pine to your butts" This was a one hour lesson - really For the next 4 yrs Coach Lynch had more influence than any coach since.
  18. uh oh - That's not very nice :'( :'( :'(
