WB won district ONE time under Coach Stump. There was no big four when Stump coached the Bruins. It was a six team district including Channelview and Baytown Sterling. It was pretty much a given they would get in the playoffs. It is a much tougher district now. I don't believe anyone is saying the Bruins will win district but, they will be talented enough to make the playoffs. I think they knock off one of the playoff teams from last year and get in.
+5
Only time will tell.  You make a good point about the alignment of the district when Stump was at the helm.  However, even those seasons that they didn't win district but made the playoffs, they did well in the postseason too.  Which set the bar pretty high, I don't know that Flannigan and company could have done the same in the district then and certainly have my doubts about them doing so now facing the big four.  Again, I know it takes time to put in a system, but last year was rather dismal.  I hope Flanigan proves me wrong, but I'll wait...
The talent level Flannigan is coaching is far less than the level and amount of talent Stump coached at WB. After C-mike gets drafted this weekend that would be two NFL RBs Stump coached. Flannigan doesn't have a NFL RB to bail him out. Hell it can be said the with all the talent Stump coached that he underachieved at West Brook. I do agree with you about the jury still being out on Flannigan though. Everyone knew last year would be mediocre. This year he has a more talented team, so we'll see what type of coach he is.
Agreed! so basically we are saying sort of the same thing.  Tougher District + Less Talent = equals a more difficult road to the playoffs.  All I'm saying is that it is too soon for me to endorse or indict him.  This year will tell the tale.

 4. If he follows the same pattern, he will probably move a middle school coach up to take the job.  :-\
has the job been posted yet?
It's posted on BISD's website, I haven't heard any word on who applied and/or any of the applicants.
Yeah me too
I third that notion..... Get the best coach not the best friend.  Just saying
 7. It's a good opportunity to get the right coach, for the right reasons.  They shouldn't limit the list of finalist to local guys, find the right fit for the program.  For the kid's sake, I hope they choose the best one, whoever that is  :)
 8. Wow, what a ridiculous thing for him to say.  I was already glad Ned. Won , but I'm even more glad that Dawson lost.  From the unsportsmanlike conduct penalties to the classless comments of their arrogant coach, it just makes seeing them sent packing that much sweeter. I sincerely hope that this not a true representation of he is, maybe it's just an isolated, dumb comment.  For the kids sake I hope that's the case.
Are you suggesting that maybe some of the Central kids need to transfer to Ozen?  8)
It pains me to day this, but he would have been better of at Ozen or West Brook.  Smh.
That sure would've made my year if he was playing at Ozen.  I'm certain both he and the panthers would still be playing.
 11. The radio guys couldn't make sense of some of the calls either, on one they just kept going to commercial.  It was really awkward, I was wondering what that was about, now I know.
 12. What are your thoughts, I havent seen Livingston play this year.
 13. Central 28-7 in this one.  I think many people pushed the panic button early on the Jags.  The losses to a good Memorial team, Ozen, and Westbrook, don't at all suggest that the season is lost.  I think the Jags are going win this one and surprise many other teams in the weeks to come.  D-fense, D-fense, D-fense!!!!
 14. Prayers from BMT.  Trusting The Lord for his complete healing and a speedy recovery, in Jesus' name.
 15. I have no doubt that Matthews and the Pirates will bing their A game and be well prepared for the game.  However, I do think Ozen wins this one.  If speed alone was the deciding factor Ozen would be in contention each year.  It is no secret that Ozen's team end to end is loaded with speed, but speed alone won't win it.  The Panthers must minimize their mistakes and execute well to beat a well coached Vidor team.  That said, I think that the Panthers' speed is a bonus but gameplan and execution will win this one for the "Cats" Growl Growl!
 16. It is no doubt that Central is loaded with talent.  Honestly, thought last week's game was gonna be close.  I have seen Central play 3 games now and they seem to be regressing,  which in my opinion, points to coaching as well.  I've seen Central do something this year that I haven't seen for quite sometime now, and that's quit in the middle of the game.  I don't think the kids believe in the staff and are just going through the motions at this point.
 17. I have been impressed with my Panthers in some areas, but I think they're a work in progress.  Loaded with talent, but inconsistent on offense, but it is week 1 :).  Thinking they will keep improving as the season progresses.
What do you look like??
Like Abraham Lincoln just much darker, shorter, and wider.
