1. Overall I think it;s way too early to write the Jags off.  Their running game and o-Line play is definitely not where it needs to be, but they are still able to beat just about anybody in the district.  I don't think that Mitchell's numbers in the first game suggests that he will struggle this year either.  If they can improve the O-Line and defensive backfield and they will be tough to beat.
2. I think it will be a good game, but I'm taking Ozen in this one.
3. I just want to give a congrats to Ex - East Chambers player Tremain Thomas (sp) on a great game in the sugar bowl tonight.  Seemed like every big defensive play that was made by the Razorbacks to climb back into the game was made by Thomas.  Though the game was won by Ohio State, this young man played his heart out and really stood out in a game filled with star players.  Keep up the good work, you are representing S.E. Texas well.
4. I really pulling for the Jags in this one, as I support all teams from this area in the Playoffs.  IMO, If Central opens their offense up (like the second of the Huntsville game), they could beat just about anybody.  We are behind you Jags!  keep fighting.
5. I've seen both teams play and I'll take Central 28-24.  If the game was being played in PNG I would say otherwise (for several reasons  :)  But Since it's at Babe, I think the jags will take it.
6. Just being honest, I dont' see PNG making it to the State Championship. They are on a roll now but they are definitely beatable.
7.

My prediction of the PNG game plan vs Ozen. RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, SCORE!!!!   After a first half of that, pull Harmon to protect him, then RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, RUN THE BALL, SCORE!!!!! No need to pass, simplify to the extreme....RUN THE BALL - Ozen has proven they can't stop the run!
Harmon is the best athlete i've seen since Patches O'Hoolihan. Nobody can stop the run, especially Ozen.
Patches HUH ? LOL !!!!
Yea that guy was truly special!  LOL!
8.
Ozen defense?  Hey at least Nederland isn't last in both categories anymore.
Classic!  way to find the silver lining!  LOL!
9. You've diagnosed the problem! The reason this would never happen is because of the salary of one southeast Texas superintendant. Brilliant don't know why we didn't think of that sooner. LOL! I don't think it would ever happen because it would take buy in and collaboration from several area districts and that would never happen. It's rare that one school district can come to agreement on their own issues, even more unlikely that they can all come to a place of agreement on a single issue that affects many.
10. Congrats Panthers! way to start the year right! Let's get ready to shock the world, Saturday (well maybe not the world...let's shock the triangle)
11. This is info. from a normally reliable source Joubert will get it. AD and Principal agreed on Saveat but the school board was not in agreement. The hope was that Gilmore would win the school board election and vote for Saveat. The election is over and Gilmore did not win, therefore the vote is the same and Saveat is not their choice. "Rumor has it" that the job is or has been offerred to Joubert.
12. Yes he did, that was the shootout at Cardinal Stadium. Ozen won the game but Mosely had a field day as a soph. I never wanted to see the wrap around draw again after that night. Johnathan Smith also had a big game for Ozen that night too. .
13. im dissappointed in you how in the world you dont have johnathan smith on this list he has be top 5 I was thinking the same thing, that kid was a monster!
14. Arguments can be made both ways, a team loaded with talent without leadership will not be anymore successful than a team lacking talent with a good coach. Ozen and PNG have proven that the last couple of years respectively. There needs to be a good balance of both talent and leadership.
15. No he wasn't. Chip was a much better passer than James. No doubt about it, Chip was the better QB and actually had to carry the team at times. James was very good but also had a great team around him (91-92 season). Not to mention one of the best OL that WB has ever had. I definitely don't want to take anything away from James Brown but Chip was a better QB.
16. Wow! i hope you're right. We sure need a good one!
17. Hope we find The Coach and not just a coach.
18. Then what happened? What do you mean what happened? Clayton went to the 2nd round in his first year with the remains of the Brooks coached kids. The next year, we learned that talent alone is not enough. exactly...the limited success that Clayton had was a direct result of Brooks program.... Please! Let me first say that there was no one happier than I was when Clayton got the job. There was no one more disappointed to see what happened. Clayton chose politics and it ended up costing him and the kids in the end. The kids that Clayton coached in his second year were kids that he had coached at the Freshman/JV levels previously. How could it be Brooks' fault? If Brooks were to blame, then wouldn't there have been problems in Clayton's first year and not the second?
19. You clearly aren't being honest with youself. Ozen has had the talent but the coaching staff has left much to be desired in the past few years. All the other teams know of OZen's talent and they also know that talent alone won't get it done. I'm so happy for the kids that have the chance to move on to the next level and continue playing ball, but to credit the coaches with this is just wrong in my opinion. The players worked hard and they are being rewarded for it, the truth is coaches could advocate for their players all they wanted, but at the end of the day schools are signing players that they think will produce. Congrats to all area players that have signed to play at the next level, keep making us proud!
