Congrats to Alex for signing with Kilgore JC today!
First Longhorn in a while to have a chance at bigger and better things in football. Hopefully more of his teammates will get the same opportunity. Great kid and well deserved.

Double WOW!

Yeah, a lot of things went "right" for Cy Ranch, but I was proud that the Gators didn't fold when they were down 17 late. Almost pulled off a miracle comeback anyway. The back for Ranch was a load.

Tough loss yesterday, but congrats on a great season to John Snelson and his Gators. Took a few years to get the program going in the direction that he wanted, but I think that they have arrived and will continue to improve. Might be even better next year.

Went to NRG and then to UH this weekend. Both were great places to watch football. My only mistake was parking in the garage at UH. It took forever to get moving after the game. Other than that, those two venues were awesome. Hope that I get to check out the New Caney stadium soon.

Heck of a game, had a little bit of everything.
Congrats to Coach Snelson and his Gators, keep it rollin!
Next round will be against Cy Ranch next Saturday at UH.

Just wasn't our day yesterday, and credit Atlanta for having a lot to do with that. On behalf of Longhorn Nation, which brought 2500 fans to Bryan and probably around 1500 plus to Lindale yesterday, I want to say thanks to this group of kids. Couldn't be any prouder. What a ride! Hopefully this success will carry over to the future Horns to know that they can accomplish anything that they work hard enough for. Also thanks to all of the posters on here from around the area for the kind thoughts and words. Best of luck to the teams that are still alive.

How healthy is Tatum going into this one?
-
Really hoped this game would be played at SFA, but they needed all four possible teams (Tarkington/Mexia, Atlanta/Melissa) to commit to the site by a certain time. Melissa is farther from SFA and they would not commit, so the game could not be played there. After that it was get what you can get. Sux that Melissa didn't wind up figuring in to the equation after all.

good stuff

LP played like a different team. Defense totally took away WB running game early and Grant ran like a man possessed. Hope that the injury to Terrebone is not too severe.
-
If Shepherd gets/stays healthy, they could be a tough match-up for someone. They are solid.

And same ol Shepherd, always classy in victory. But we will tip our hats to your kids and coaches and wish them well the rest of the way, anyway.
-
A lot will depend on how healthy LP can get and how fast.Offense didn't look very good minus three offensive starters last week. Also looked like they had a little "Border War" Hangover. Not to take anything away from Sterling, they deserved the win.

Ryan Roecker is the new coach at Anahuac.

Where are you wanting to build? What area?

Splendora used to have toughness, ball control and more toughness, with a little bit of nasty mixed in as their football identity. A team that never backed down from anyone. Over the past few years they seem to have gone away from that some and it is tough
to tell what they hang their hat on now. Give the new coach some time and see what he is about before you run him out of town after two games. Check back at the end of the season and see whether or not they have shown improvement.

Should the Constable have gone on the field? No.
Did most ot the people in the stands have a still photo to analyze and dissect? No.
In real life and at game speed, it did not look good.
Was the account of what happened reported accurately in the Houston media? Not close.
From my understanding, the situation has been dealt with.
It is Friday in Texas and there are some good football games that deserve to be talked about much more than this. -
The Ranch Hand Cafe on 105 between Tarkington and Cleveland is down home cookin with just about whatever you are hungry for. If you go away hungry it's your fault. Also, Rock N R BBQ is very good, on the corner of 105 and 321.

Best of luck to Tyler Kolek on a day that will set up the rest of his career and life. Also, best wishes to all of the other deserving young men in our area that will get the chance to fullfill their lifelong dreams through the draft.

The coaches have enough to worry about in preparing for the respective opponents, hope the weather will cooperate.
