1.
Good comment as the coach stated he does have things to work on to improve.BUT it is not a one man team and together as a team they will get better .We as fans need to improve ourselves to.
I absolutely agree, we need to get the fans back in the stands and fired up. My daughter is a HS Cheer Leader and I ride her case about the lack of school spirit HF has right now. Back in the day our Cheer Leaders set the tone for school spirit. It is time to fire this school up and get the students enthused about football again. Come on HF fans lets get behind these boys and show them the support they deserve.  Dang I am ready for Friday night and Saturday for that matter.

Yes, he did have a great game throwing the ball Friday night, also worth noting he runs the ball well. However I am concerned with how he carries the ball, kind a like a loaf of bread, he needs to correct that. Good Luck this Friday Night against the "WAC ATTACK"
He can carry it like a cheerleader for all I care. As long as a"W" goes on his belt.  ;D
I hear ya Dove, however you know them Ball Hawks are always looking for something to strip.  8)
3. All I can say is Anauhac better have some tall cover corner's or Malveaux & Carmon are going to eat'em up. All BS aside HF is a better team this year and should give "THE WAC ATTACK" a good game. I look forward to see how we match up with the speed of the Panther's as this will give us a good idea as to where we are as a team. Good luck to both squads I hope you have a fun and injury free game. I hated to hear about Anahuac's Running Back, I pray God Speed on his recovery.   HF- 22 ANAHUAC - 21

5. The Horns seem to have better grasp of the offense. They are a much improved team from the last coupe of years. There seems to be allot more discipline and desire to win. I think this week will give us a good barometer on where we are, as Anuahac is a quality team.
6. I had to feel a little bit sorry for the Red Devils who had to travel all the way down here from Lufkin too get their butts kicked by HF & EC. JMHO, the Devils are in for a tough season. Don't get me wrong they had some good players and gave a good effort, of course it was just a scrimmage, anything can happen. EC looked sharp, their QB, FB & TB are quick and strong. I would like to have seen HF & EC go at it from the start as a game sitaution. I think it would have been an entertaining game as there were some big hits & big plays from both squads. Only the starting O's & D's got to play in this one. The scrimmage ended with EC scoring on the last play to make it a 1-1 tie. HF is a much improved team from last year, I think we will have a better season this year.
7. That was a good interview w/ Trevor Bell, he is a well spoken young man. I wish him and the Horns well this year. "GO HORNS"  ;)
8. Based on what we have returning the LongHorns will be down, not much size nor speed for the Horns. All of the better athletes are going to play Fall Baseball or Soccer. Since HF's HS football program started struggling it has been hard to get the kids motivated to play. Our parents seem to be leaning towards having their kids play one sport year round. My kid likes all of the sports equally, IMHO I think it makes them a more rounded athlete. :-\
9. I wonder if this is the same Lance Dale that played for and Graduated from H-F, back in the early 90's when they had a good FB program. If it is wlecome back to the Golden Triangle, Doo Doo.
10. Talk about a very very cold game. This game, and all of the other area games should have been postponed in my opinion. After the game some of our girls, suffered from borderline "HYPOTHERMIA". >:( :(
11. HF won this game 11-0. It was great performance by the lady Horns. HF has a very young and inexperienced team that is competeting in a 4A & 5A dominated sport. This team has 11 Fresh, 4 Soph & 4  SR's. This group of girls should make some noice in the next few years, that is of course if they stay together. Great game Lady Horms and Good Luck tonight against Nederland you are going to need it.
12. After looking at the capsule, if Carthage wins, this means that both of the Div I & Div II State Champs will be from the same district. I realize this is not the first time this has happened, however it is still uncommon. What's even more remarkable is that Henderson beat Chapel Hill to win State and Chapel Hill beat the mess out of Carthage earlier in the season. Then Carthage goes and beats Henderson to be District Champs. Just goes to show you, with the right talent and coaching any team can beat on any given day.
13. I sure wish the HF Horns could have held onto Coach Danaher and his boys, we could have had at least two or three State Champion caliber teams back on the 90's. Rumor has it the Superintendent at that time was the main reason why he left, the two apparently did not see eye to eye. I am more of the opinion that he was a star on the rise and destined for greater things.
14. He sustained a broken Collar Bone from a late hit he took from an opposing player. From what I understand he is going to be all right, except for the pain and discomfort associated with this type of injury.
15. All right we have the " Yee Haw Cellar Dwellar Bowl " HF - 35 HJ - 34 HJ scores late, goes for two and fails, thus ending the Horns streak as Cellar Dwellar of 21-3A.
16. If HF comes out and plays the whole game like they did in the first half against Kelly, then the game will no be as lopsided as everyone thinks. I know Kelly is no WOS, I am just saying that HF came out with alot of Heart and intensity that first half and finally showed sparks of being a pretty good team. I will not talk about what happened the second half, let's just say it was a totally different team and coaching staff.

20. if HF plays like they have the last few weeks they will get beat badly. However I say HF finally plays like they are capable of and pulls out a close one: HF - 30 Kelly - 28

23.
Won't be pretty.
I hate to admit it, IMHO the Horns do not stand a chance in this one. I hope they prove me wrong, but from what I have seen against Anahuac & Buna, HF does not have the size to match up with Huffman.
24.
[IMG][Hidden Content]]
We just have no size on our D Line and flat out got run over in the 2nd half, couple that with fact that our O line does not have that much size either, made for a long evening. I think my expectations were a little too lofty this year, I was hoping for a .500 year based on the number's we had coming back. Good Luck Horns I hope you have a better week being that it is Homecoming.  :) ;D
