WOS looked good, but you have to keep in perspective who we were playing. Hopefully, we will come out next week and look just as good against BC. I did not expoect their game with Silsbee to be so close. We cannot have any let downs from here on out. We must get rolling and keep the momentum. HF, you guys played hard. Hang in there, there is a silver lining in there somewhere. One thing about losing so many kids to injury and what not, your younger kids are getting valuable experience that will be key next year.
Yeah, we just need a Coaching Staff that can lead them. HF has never gone 0-10 in the history of their program and someone has to take responsibility for it. I would not be calling for this had we been competitive in our losses, but to lose the way we are right now is not good and it is time for a change.
Have you any responsibility in this team? Why don't you go out and join the team? You could be their lone back-up player. You obviously have not been to a game and watched it in person?  Do you really feel that this years HF team would have differnt outcomes with different coaching staff? You can't run a race without any horses, friend no matter if you have the best rider.
I have been to every game except the OF game and yes I do believe a different coach might have made a difference, it may have not changed the outcome but at least we might have been competitive. Everygame this year these kids look like they had just stepped onto the field for the first time. They clearly lack direction and preparedness and IMHO that falls on the coach. Heck look at the transformation that has taken place at schools such as PNG, OF & PAM to name a few. These are all first year guys at these schools imagine what their programs will look like when their kids have a few years in their system. This team has some horses, they just need the right people to transform them into Thoroughbreds.
2. Dove, I would agree with you somewhat. Since Jasper, Silsbee, WOS & Bridge City moved down to 3A several years ago the days of HF's dominating Football program soon vanished. On the other hand to take a beat down the way that HF has done so far this year should not go by without someone taking responsibility for it and that falls on the Head Coach. IMHO is time for a change and some fresh ideas.

4. I don't think these scores should be posted I agree I was at the game and for WOS, it was like " shooting fish in a barrel ". I will say this though, that the Officiating for the game was the worst these eyes have ever seen. IMHO, the Refs for these games need to be reported and sent back for training before someone gets seriously hurt. It would have in no way shape or form changed the outcome of the games but it sure would have gone a long way in making the games safer. By bad Officiating I mean it was blatant fouls on both teams that when by unpunished. Even some of the WOS faithful were remarking on how pitiful these official were. These guys clearly were there just for the money and wanted the games to be over ASAP so they could earn their paycheck and go to the house. I realize these are just JR High kids but they do deserve some respect and need to be taught whats not allowed in the game, how else will they get better. Hats Off to WOS, they as usual will have something to look forward to in the coming years.
5. Okay AAW, what is this news about HF that is so disturbing? You have me curious as to what's going on now.
6. Honestly, he has done nothing with the experience and talent he has had in the past. Look back at the class of '09. They had guys like Burrell, Daigle, Koehl, and East who had been starters since they were sophomores and look what he did with that. If you remember correctly three of the four young men you mentioned were injured for most of, if not all of the season.
7. I think the HF kids have already lost this one, they have lost all motivation this year and seemed to be physically & emotionally drained. I just hope we can get the kids that will be eligible to play next year back out for another go at it. HF has never had an 0-10 season and I pray that this will not spell the doom for football program next year. Good Luck Horns please keep your heads up, things will get better. I am being realistic about this one and we will be lucky if WOS does not hang a half a hundred on us by Half time. WOS - 70 HF - 0
8. I think we need to give Coach Mangan 1 more year. Basically what he has to work with is JV talented players playing at the Varsity level, and freshman talent playing at the JV Level. If he does not do anything with the experience and talent he will hopefully have back next year, then IMHO a change will need to be made.
9. I agree this could be real ugly tonight. HF is in a downward spiral and OF is climbing High. But hey these are kids we are talking about and anything can happen and that is why they play the game. Good Luck to both squads I hope they have an injury free game for once, Lord knows HF could use it.
10. I believe these are the correct scores. OF's 8th Grade A Team will be a force in future, they are pretty darn good, of course the same can be said of our 7th Grade A Team. 7TH Grade B OF 6 HF 0 8TH Grade B HF 6 OF 0 7TH Grade A HF 26 OF 6 8TH Grade A OF 40 HF 8

12. Please do not bash our facility. If you were at the game you could clearly see that we have a Brand New visitor section under construction it is just taking a little more time to finish. We had a third of HF side roped off for the Jasper. I would expect a little more respect from a moderator.
13. This will get real ugly, real fast. IMHO, our boys do not appear to have the desire to win anymore. They just seem to be going thru the motions to get thru this season. Jasper will be able to score as much as they want. I hope HF can at least score a touchdown or two. Jasper 56 HF 14

16. Man I would give my Left _ _ _ to have Coach Danaher back at HF. I was in highschool his last few years at HF and man he could FLAT OUT MOTIVATE YOU !!! That was back when HF could hang with the likes of Newton. :o I mean no disrepect to DIRT CLAUDE, IMHO Big Phil was a better Coach.
17. Well I can tell you HF has given Huffman a fare share of beat downs in the past. Like the saying goes if you dish it out you better be able to take it.
18. Moved it enough to win 21-0, Brick! ;D I have to concur, it was HF that could barely move against EC, there is always next year. I still think HJ has a better team than EC HJ 28 EC 21
19. HF fans realize this year is not our year, although next year might provide hope for the future. The HF coaches are trying to break in very inexperienced group of young men. These young men are competing against some very good teams. If you look at our schedule you can see that 7 out of the 10 teams we are set to play this year made it to the playoffs last year. Most of these clubs have several returning players from last years squad. So it goes without saying what the Horns are up against this year. I just hope they do not get discouraged with the trials and tribulations they will face this year as next year they could emerge as a pretty good team with a bright future. I think HF fans are embracing the fact that we will not have a good season this year but we will still show our support on Friday Nights as this team prepares for next year. With that being said once again if HF can cut down on the mistakes this game could go either way if not it will be Huffmans to lose. HF 21 Huff 20
20. I do not think you want to go there, if you will look back in History you will find out who has had the better football prgrams. HF has been down the last several years, but look out we are making a come back.
21. Gloating over injuries? Not cool, IMHO. It's my understanding that there is more issues at HF other than injuries. You are probably right about "other issues", however, the response in question came directly after a post about numerous injuries and being short handed. What can you do about no participation in the program. They have to be the smallest school in the district aren't they? They did have like 7 or 8 sophomores on varsity but only about 28-30 on varsity roster when they played Lumberton. With that information it would mean 60-65 in the entire football program? What "other issues" are you referring to? Kids not wanting to play? They didn't have but two teams last year I believe? And freshman getting pumled by sophomores and juniors doesn't nake the team better it just makes more quit. So why is it okay for the JV to be tackling & blocking dummies for the Varsity during practise, could it be to make them better. IMO it is no different than playing a tough non district schedule. The better the competition your up against the better it should make you.
22. HF vs EC 7th Grade Scrimmage HF 3 EC 0 8TH GRADE REAL GAME EC 22 HF 12 It was good two see these two youngs squads face off against one another. The future looks good for these two programs if these young men can stick together. Good Luck to both teams this year. Oh I forgot to give Kudos to the HF & EC Jr High Cheer sqauds and the EC Dance Team all of them did a really good job, very entertaining.
23. Gloating over injuries? Not cool, IMHO. It's my understanding that there is more issues at HF other than injuries. Probably so.
24. I agree, we should do this it will only make the team better. The Varsity has been decimated with injuries and the lack of players that came out for football. They had to move allot of JV players up to field a varsity team. I believe the way they have been handling it, is they have a mixture of Fresh. and Soph. players to field one team.
25. I am not sore at all, in fact I am quite proud of the way the Horns came back from all of those mistakes to make a game of it. I was simply saying that these were two pretty evenly matched teams and the score reflected that. Liberty did not blow the Horns out so get over yourself.
