  2. Welcome to Texas High School Football, " BIG MO " comes and goes like the tide.
  3. I do not know much about the Bobcats, but I did get to see Liberty first hand Friday night. This one will be a close game in that I think HF and OF are about the same caliber of teams. Liberty has a real good offense with descent size and speed. I was impressed with their QB, reminded me of Lumberton's and he throws a pretty sweet pass. I do not see many 3A teams in this area being able to completely stop their running game. The 12,000 lb gorilla is their defense, they give up a bunch yards & points. If Liberty plays better defensively they should win this game. Sorry my 21-3A brethren, I just call'em like I see'em. Liberty : 42 OF: 35
  4. How about your Run defense. Obviously you were not at the game to see that this should not have been and was not a blow out. HF had at least 9 turn overs to Liberty's 2 or 3 and the game was still close. #42 Austin Simmons shredded your defense to the tune of about 180 + yards on about 10 carries. To say this should have been a blow out is just plain wrong.
  5. I agree this will be a good game if HF can get rid of the "Fumbleitus" that plagued them Friday night. I think they had a total of 9 fumbles against Liberty. Hard to win a game with that kind of stat. One thing I can say about HF is they never give up. This young team has a lot of character, they could have rolled over against Libery, but instead they kept fighting and almost pulled off the win. With that being said, I am going with HF in a close one. Good Luck to both teams, I pray they have an injury free game.
  6. Please be patient with HF, IKE really sucker punched us. I think by next year we will have a facility to be proud of. Panther Fans are more than welcome to come sit with the HF folks tonight. I promise you with the group of fans we have now, there will be no trouble. Friday Nights @ Longhorn stadium these days is more of a social gathering than anything. Back in the day there would be no way I would make that offer.
  7. I hear you. I talked with my Brother in law last night after Lumberton's Freshman took it to our Freshman to the tune of 30 to 12. He told me that the kids have a serious lack of discipline and the coaches are letting them get away with it. He also told me that the HF Coaches appeared to be overwhelmed with confusion as to what plays to call. I was really surprised to hear this about this group of young men as they were our hope for the future. This Class of Freshmen @ HF was the one team that could actually play with the likes of WOS and Silsbee. Of course we are talking about JR High ball, however I was really hoping it would carry over to High School. I hope everything starts getting better for HF and it starts with having a good attitude.
  8. that coupled with the fact that we have no school and community spirit anymore.
  9. They are trying to implement a Veer offense and Coach Tilton came back to HF with what I think is a 50 defense.
  10. I don't know if it will be a rout, who knows HF might match up better with Lumberton.
  11. YEAH it looks to be a pretty rough season for HF. This is a young group of kids, many of whom have not competed at the varsity level. Couple that with the fact that they are learning a new offense and defense makes things pretty challenging for them. The thing that concerns me the most is the amount of injuries HF has and the lack of conditioning. By the time HF finished the scrimmage part and went to a game type situation they were completely gassed and could not keep up with the speed of Anahuac. I say this not not to take any thing away from Anahuac as they are good, Barbay has his team ready. I look for them to be in contention for their 2A district title. Good Luck to both squads.
  12. Yes it was pretty bad, tough to see the Horns struggle so much. In the actual scrimmage part they hung with the Panthers but when they went to game situation it was though they were to gassed to go. I think the 100 + Deg Temp. might have something to do with that. The Panthers clearly dominated the Horns with superior execution, speed and conditioning. The Panthers looked like they had been practising for months and clearly have their offense & defense ready to go, heck IMO they could start the season right now. The Horns could not get nothing going offensively, I think they are still in the learning phase of the new offense and given more weeks of practise and another scrimmage will only help things. Defensively they need to do a better job of tackling. The Horns missed allot of tackles in this scrimmage. I know that Justin Sculley got injured, but I am not sure to the extent of the injury. I hope it is not to bad and he gets back in action soon. Good Luck Horns keep your heads up and keep working hard. Hats off to the the Panther's, they will make some noise in 2A this year.
  13. We are not loaded with it, but I was told we do have one 4.4 guy and few that are around 4.6 but that is about all.
  14. I will say HF, we are going back to what we do best. A ball control offense w/ a bend but don't break Defense. Good Luck Horns
  15. HF, after being predicted to be the 21-3A cellar dweller they shake everyone and barely nip HJ & BC to nab the 3rd Playoff Spot. " Now that's a bold prediction ".
  16. Myles Johnson of HF, if he is anything like his uncle then HF might have that player with the intangible "IT" factor we have been lacking. Good Luck to you Myles.
  17. If Myles Johnson is anything like his uncle " Flip Johnson ", HF will be just fine. The young man comes from good stock.
  18. This has the makings of a great game. Good Luck to both squads, may you have an injury free game.
  19. I think HF could take some people by surprise. The guys they have coming back could prove the nay Sayer's wrong. From what I am being told this is a more cohesive unit than the ones we have had in the last few years.
  20. The man was just following the rules. Sounds like you are the one that needs to get over it.
  21. I am just taking up for the man. I would hope you would do the same if the roles were reversed.
  22. Well the truth is out, looks like the HF AD is not the Dumb_ _ _ he was made out to be. This man has been bashed and ridiculed beyond belief. That is what is wrong with our society we are quick condemn people before we have all of the facts. I think some of the poster's and moderators owe this man a sincere apology.
  23. Man something told me I was leaving a come back by HF. Sorry HF, I had to get my young son who was with me home in time for bed, or suffer the wrath of his Mom. Great Job Horns way to battle back and make a game of it. Hats off to the Bobcats they have a great team. Keep your heads up Horns at least you did not get beat by a less than worthy opponent. As for the HF pitcher that got "rocked" early on, I hope the Coach is doing some things to restore his confidence. I felt pretty bad for him, he seems to be a talented pitcher OF just figured him out early. Good Luck Horns.
  24. The Stangs will beat Caldwell, not so sure about Gilmer jury is still out on this one. GoodLuck Stangs Rep. 21-3A well.
  25. why can't we just all get along, I think one big group hug is needed. What do you think FisherKing?
