Very impressed with Tatum. Very athletic team. QB can go! Ward ended up with 18-193yds & 2 TDs. It was hot! Good luck rest of the season!

Ward was a load. Only one of our boys had an answer for him and that was the D1 D-Linemen Fite. Nobody else could tackle him without help. QB ran well in space too. With that kind of balanced attack its pick your poison. We went man to man and tried to corral the run game with 5 for the most part, sometimes 6. Had running lanes for days up the middle behind big OL. Very solid balanced offense. Yall go give 4A hell fellas.

  2. Lumberton 48 Tatum 42 Final

Our boys ain't got no quit in them. I can live with the outcome. Gave everything they had. Lumberton was huge and had tons of talent. Our run game is gonna be hell for 3A D1 to stop. I like where coach Keeling has this program headed in his first year. Get to rest up and try to get healthy with the bye week next then start district play against Gladewater.

Congrats on the win Lumberton. Yall got a solid squad. Ward is a load. Passing game looked good. Best of luck the rest of the season.

We return every kid that touched the ball except for #35 next year. Hopefully we'll be able to give yall a game next year as well and make this 2 game series worth it for yall.

You'd think we would close down that sideline but it seems to be our achilles heel. That dang Tatum QB is hard to bring down.

I think we're gonna be pretty solid after this tough non-district schedule. Offense is tough to stop. So much to account for. Got a few playmakers that can create issues. The system gives them good opportunities. I knew we wouldn't stop yall, offense is tough. Knew we'd have to score with yall to stay in it. Hopefully it's an exciting 2nd half.

I don't believe so normally. It seems like one or two played other positions against Nacogdoches as well as 2nd and 3rd stringers getting into the game but I don't remember seeing it happen last week although several starters went out during the 4th quarter against Bridge City.

We got about 4 or 5 that hardly ever come off the field. Will be interesting to see how we look at the start of the 4th as the temp start to rise. They've been doing it all year so they're conditioned but that heat takes it out of ya quick.

Hope both teams ready for the heat. I just seen Centerville vs Jefferson got moved to 6pm at Troup cause of the heat index forecasted for Saturday.

Yup, gonna be a hot one. And I'm sure a school with 1244 enrollment won't be running many players both ways. We on the other hand start several kids both ways. We absolutely do not have the depth that Lumberton will have. Might not be a bad idea if both coaches were to agree to move the game to a later time. 4 quarters in the high 90s is going to be rough.

You are delusional in my opinion.  BUT... I am prepared to eat crow if I'm wrong.

Delusional? Sir, I never said anything about us winning. I realize it's an extreme uphill battle. Just hoping our boys make a good showing and come out of it as healthy as we go in. We had 4 starters out going into last week. Hoping we get some of them back before we take on what is undoubtedly our strongest opponent thus far.

Gotta watch those ppl last name Watson, they tend to tear ppl a new arse every now and then. 😁

Lol, Cole is a competitor. He runs that ole "read em and feed em" offense pretty well. This will by far be the strongest and most disciplined front 7 he has seen this year. They're big on the d-line and the LBs are well coached. Ole Fite, Welch, and the rest of our OL got their work cut out for them this week. That's for sure.

Why is this even a discussion?  Tatum is a dinky unranked 3-A  school.  Lumberton wins in a blowout.

Ya reckon that's gonna keep us out of a bowl game? 🤣 Technically, I think we were ranked like 12th in 3AD1 last week prior to beating 3AD2's #4 ranked West Rusk but yes, we have indeed yet to crack the top 10. Maybe we'll still be bowl eligible.

Yes, yes it could very well end up being a blow out, sir. But I figure our boys will go ahead and line up and give it the "ole college try" anyways.
