I was a coach's son that attended a school out of zone for all four of my high school years, and my dad and I had to go before the district committee EVERY year, because the same two coaches (one was from my zoned school) complained EVERY year. It became a running joke after my sophomore year, because it became the shortest DEC committee meeting in the history of DEC meetings those last two years! Waste of time. But its perfectly legal for a kid to play where his father (or mother) is employed no matter where that may be in relation to the residence.

Well in the case stated above he didnt get to play dickie.

Also just to add this newsflash to the topic, these kids that are getting transferred because mom and/or dad are not happy with the role the coach is giving them are more than likely NOT going to be happy with the role they get at the school they transfer to either.

These kids usually tend to follow a pattern leave little league or little dribblers because it is not all about their kid, transfer from one AAU team to another because it is not all about their kid, then they go bouncing from one high school to another only to find out once again it is not all about their kid. The insanity usually stops after that because no college coach is going to put up with the BS of a parent trying to tell them how to do their job and the kid ends up not playing anywhere despite how talented they are

I will lay you odds those that have seen it will vouch for this statement as 100% accurate

    110% correct!

  3. DV I think you are misinterpreting what some are saying. Let the kid go. No one owns him. However, there are rules that sometime cause consequences that not you or anyone else decides. The district committee has the right to look at EVERY transfer and with Boutte coming in to the district I can assure the coaches in that district are going to their super intendents who sit on the district committee to watch all of these very closely. They are not going to sit back and watch kids transfer in to play for Boutte just because they want to play for him. They want to win too.

Going to Silsbee is not a good move for Lil C...if he was going to a program like WOS then cool here's the thing lets look at the history of Silsbee I think Hudson was the first D-1 football player from Silsbee in I'm not sure how long....we don't even have to do a comparing between Ozen and Silsbee on players going to college now do we? Any current players hold offers currently? Scouts will always come through Beaumont history speaks for itself. As I've said before not only leaving to go to a smaller classification but going play for a coach you know nothing about...what if the coach decides to throw the ball 50x a game? And please stop saying he's going for the academics the kid has like a 3.5 GPA he excels in the classroom. I'm going to support him either way but IMO it's not a good move. And for those of you saying Lil C is going to Silsbee sharing carries PUHLEASE!

Jeremy Johnson and William Morrisy both had plenty of scouts going through silsbee prior to hudson and hudson brought them all. If he is that talented the scouts won't miss him wherever he is.

He takes attendance of those who show up and marks points for the kids showing up to workouts and other sports games (baseball, soccer, etc...) . He also gives points for kids who he sees working hard, which he determines.. He then adds up the points and ranks kids in their groups on who is working the hardest.

I wonder if the new coach knows it is against UIL rules to take attendance and offer incentives for workouts outside of school hours?

Interesting. One of UIL's biggest no no's!!!!
