I coached a game there once. Cool stadium built in the woods. Had stone bleachers too I think.

Just got out of coaching six man after doing it for years. It's a lot of fun, and if your guys can't open field tackle, get ready for a basketball score! I think High Island might have hired. Right before I left Dime Box a few weeks ago, I talked to the coach over there, so I'm pretty sure they have hired. Does OCC still play six man? They used to be in my TAPPS district back when I was at Brenham Christian.

Had the lead until the 6th and then the wheels fell off. Friendswood is a darn good squad!

I remember in 2015 Westbury was a 6a and they had 15 players on their freshmen squad.

I'm not sure of the HISD policy but I know there were a lot of charters, privates, magnets, etc in that area that pulled kids.

I think he was a higher up in HISD athletic admin before the Westbury job. I was at Westbury as a running backs coach when Ajani Sanders was the head coach. Once everyone left at the end of 2015, they hired Greg Wilson for a few years, and then once Wilson left they brought in Colbert. Coaching at Westbury is tough because a lot of talented kids that live near Westbury end up going to other schools in the district.

They had a heck of a team this year. That is for sure!

1A should be interesting. Waelder has really shown up since the end of district. We played them for the district championship and lost by 3, then they turned around and won a playoff warmup over #2 ranked Slidell. So I know they are itching to face #1 LaPoynor. Should be a great game. Laneville vs. Leggett should also be pretty good. Laneville is always a tough team and Leggett has a senior that is crazy good (he put 39 on us the other night). If he gets a hot hand, it will be a good night for the Pirates.

If we beat Rocksprings tomorrow and Leggett wins against Nordheim, we will be playing East Texas again next week!

I know Dime Box and Carlisle were playing at Panola this morning and Joaquin vs. Lovelady at Joaquin at 830. Also Lipan should be playing White Oak today, because they lost to Thorndale last night.

With those numbers I have no idea why Burkeville doesn't play 6 man. I heard those rumors about High Island playing 11 man as well.....

Bob Hope did when I was there two years ago. I'm not sure if they kept it though. We played Liberty so I know they had one, I think Legacy did too.

I was surprised the Longhorns weren't ranked in the 1A rankings. I was the head football coach this year (our first year to ever have football) and we did pretty well going 4-1 with some solid athletes. I think we have a chance to make some noise this year. Was really surprised to see Lipan all the way down at 16, but Leggett is still in it.

I used to coach in inner city Houston and I live in Brenham. That isn't the case at all. Their soccer coach last year, was a soccer coach I personally hired at Bob Hope School in Port Arthur and he set that program up, made it to the playoffs for the first time in school history, beat Jasper in the first round (and barely lost to Waco La Vega), and had multiple kids recruited to play college ball from Bob Hope including one at an NCAA Division II. Last year's record in soccer isn't a knock against Brenham, they were in a tough district and played a tough pre-district. The same goes with baseball. Yes, they missed the playoffs for the first time in 35 years, but Coach Williams was a heck of a coach, I think his record was like 180-60. Cedar Park picked him up immediately when Brenham let him go. It takes a little time to transition, but Brenham is still Brenham.

Brenham is okay, but nowhere near the Glen West years. They went 3 rounds deep and lost to Calallen but that was in Region 4. I saw them last year go life and death with Houston Heights. After seeing their scrimmage vs. Harker Heights if they don't tighten up that defense, Friday night vs. Magnolia West will be real ugly. Coach Eliot seems to be a stand up guy and a heck of a coach, so I'm hoping he can get it done.

These debates are time wasters. The Democratic race is between Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. My assumption is that the ticket will be Sanders/Warren. If Biden gets it, I have no idea who he'd run as a VP, maybe Julian Castro. I think Sanders/Warren would be a tight race with Trump, Biden/whoever would lose easily.

I appreciate the straight answer. However, you and I have a disagreement on what a tax is. You seem to think TARP wasn't a tax, I think it was. Thankfully the vast majority of the "conservatives" you posted above agree with me. As far as Obamacare, I think it definitely is a tax, and was complete garbage. I know plenty of liberals as well as conservatives that hated it. And there was no spin. A liberal saying let everyone else bail out a college kid is the same as a "conservative" saying lets bail out a suit.

I'll answer your question as soon as you answer mine. I've noticed that on here it is like pulling teeth to get a straight answer. Someone replied up above "show me the tax a republican put in place regarding wall street: and you responded that what I was saying was spin. I ask you a simple question and your answer is "I don't know." Talk about spin.....

It's very interesting that you guys don't see TARP as a tax. Funny enough Rand Paul does.....didn't you just list him a true conservative? Someone has some explaining to do.......
