There are no give me games. Any Day, Any Time, Any Team can beat another. Especially if they think they are playing an easy opponent. Total Effort, 100% of the time, is the only way to enter the playoffs. Play like you are playing the #1 team in the state & that every play is your last play. This mentality is the only way to win!

Watching highlights of Northside, our defense will need to contain their QB & RB. Both are very quick. We need to run the ball, pull that defense in & then pass. Execute, Execute, Execute the game plan!!!

No game is a gimme. PNG needs to execute our basic offense & save the flash plays for later this playoff season. PNG must score & score & score again. Total defense, total offense, total effort every play of every playoff game. Only way to advance is to have confidence in your talent & play to your full potential. Love those Indians!!!

I was at the Lamar football game in 1985, when the 7 year old girl had her eye taken out by an umbrella, so hurray for no umbrellas in the stands. Strangely for years they have sold things called ponchos & slicker suits. Cool huh?

I'll bet Dayton is familiar with how everyone they have played in District runs their offense. Stopping that offense that you are "familiar" with is a whole other story.

Agreed we played very well in the past on grass. However, there is very little grass left around the mud pits at Nederland's Bulldog Stadium. So I much prefer us to learn to win on turf.

I am so glad that the focus of fun for this rivalry, currently, is poking fun at the other school's team, fans & coaches with nerd days. Sadly, back when I was in school, it rampant destruction of property & theft that upheld the traditions of Mid County Madness week. Much Calmer Now!!!

The kicker is capable of booting it to the end zone. Coach just does not want to risk a long return. So we pooch kick the kick-off & it gets fair caught the majority of the time.
-
Does'nt that make it more unique. (Just Kidding!) Needs to be presented immediately following the game.
-
And please no powder. I had to take my wife home early from a game with a severe asthma attack because of kids throwing powder into the air & it blowing into our faces. To all kids, on both sides, a little courtesy goes a long way in real life!

Did'nt trophy get broken a couple of years ago while it was being passed around on the field?

It's not the "Quantity" it is the "Quality" of the information on these pages. That is what a search on the Ipad told me.

Absolutely not! Long was a better QB by far. I would say that Adam was a great passer & hard to bring down. Dustin was a great passer & could run well. Both QB's were special talents & PNG was blessed to have both lead their respective teams well.

My apologies. When the 'Dogs get off the bus, they will see. My apologies for the error.

Not my Only Good Post, but Thanks!

If PNG is only one player, it is extraordinary how Shug blocks for himself & catches his own passes, while wearing multiple numbers & being in more that one place at a time. So please, only worry about that "one" player we have. Do not worry at all about anyone else on the offense, or defense, after all they really don't exist except in your dreams. Please keep this mindset, and watch reality hit you when the entire PNG Indians team comes to play, and more than "one" person gets off the bus.

Guess what Daddy! Your kids are coming, and they are a bunch of Indians on the warpath. Sorry Daddy...NOT!

There is NEVER a favorite in Mid County Madness. Records, stats & all things formal football, get thrown out the window. Execute the game plan, no turnovers, big plays, & occasionally dumb luck, that is what rules these games. It is going to be a long week. I am ready for the game. God Bless all the players & may no one get hurt.

So maybe a PNG big win could save your school a lot of money, should the coach head out soon.

Back to Football: How 'bout them Indians!!!

I do not see any Federal Agent coming to enforce the no prayer law, however, it is still a law, a wrong law, but a law.

Case originally brought to court by a Santa Fe Christian family who's daughter was mocked & harassed because she would not accept a free New Testament that was being handed out at school. Her reason was that she had a Bible already & did not need one. The way that she was treated was so severe, her parents had to relocate her. They stated that Santa Fe Christians should not be rewarded with the opportunity to pray before games, if they teach their so-called Christian children it is OK to behave in that manner. It made it all the way to the Supreme Court. Had read a detailed article on the case written by the attorney for the girl.

Found This on Supreme Court Decisions site: Dated: 6/20/2000 Supreme Court ruled today that prayers led by students at high school football games are no exception: as officially sanctioned acts at events that students feel great social pressure to attend, they are unconstitutional. The 6-to-3 majority opinion by Justice John Paul Stevens said that even when attendance was voluntary and when the decision to pray was made by students, ''the delivery of a pregame prayer has the improper effect of coercing those present to participate in an act of religious worship.'' The case came from a small school district in South Texas,(Santa Fe ISD) typical of communities across the South where the practice of prayer at graduations, assemblies and athletic contests has persisted as officials have tried to navigate the obstacle course created by Supreme Court and lower court decisions. In this case, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, in New Orleans, had ruled that students could offer prayers at graduations -- where members of the clergy cannot, under a 1992 Supreme Court decision -- but not in the ''far less solemn and extraordinary'' setting of a football game. I have not seen anything that overturned this decision, but IT IS WRONG!!!

I agree freedom of speech. I thought the federal law stated that no one could lead the prayer before the game! I have been wrong before! Everyone needs to start doing this again!!! Amen!

Who is the moral compass? Majority rules? We know better than that, living in America with the laws that are in place. Tell the Police Officer, or the Judge that next time that "Some rules are meant to be broken," see if that flies the next time you break the law. I am here now praying & will be at the game praying for all the boys, fans & those horrible rule breaking coaches, (who shall remain nameless) that they are all safely transported to & from the game. That there are no injuries. That God Bless both Barbers Hill High School & Port Neches-Groves High School.
