And back to the topic at hand, it is becoming VITAL that BISD act on this NOW, whether it is to open the job to application or promote from within the school district amongst those that have head coaching experience (e.g. Nelson, Haynes or Colbert).  To allow the Ozen ship to sail into the summer with essentially no rudder is just downright irresponsible.

I love how the "West of the Trinity" teams love to bash  our area as "behind the times" when the only team over there that has state championships is Barbers Hill and Deer Park.

You know, if the way that things are done in football programs in Southeast Texas disgusts you so much.....why are you here?
You see, the last playoff game my alma mater won (which falls within the 409 area code) was on December 18, 2015.  Since we are asking about that, when was the last time the team you backed won a playoff game?

Why would anyone from the Ozen community be opposed to getting a guy from PNG?? Do yall not look at a team that beat yall 36-13 and think that maybe they have a good coach or 2???

what the heck is really going on in BIsd? all Three head coaches were/are looking to go other places.

Just curious as to how the Ozen job has been a stepping stone for the last few head coaches. Nelson is currently the WRs coach at Central, McGee is currently the TEs coach at Spring Westfield, and Suggs will never be a head coach again. How is that using the Ozen job as a stepping stone. Using a HC job for a stepping consists of leaving and taking a better job. None of these guys did that. 

I know you didn't say Sterling has nice facilities. I haven't been to a school in that district that has nice facilities. Stallworth is a relic and I've witnessed many a kid go down via the turf monster there.

Ozen's Simpson boys, Dezmon a.k.a "Bear" & Elishah a.k.a "Li Li" are two pretty good athletes in football, track and baseball. They may not have gotten the pub some may have but if you know them personally then you would know this to be true. 
 

On Thursday, May 12, 2016 Ozen H.S. viewed 10 of its seniors ink Letters of Intent to play college football next season as they pursue their desires to obtain a college degree! This makes 13 total signings as we congratulate again the 3 young men who signed Letters of Intent on National Signing Day. We are very proud of these young men who have dealt with playing under 3 different HC's in the past 4 years!  May their futures be much brighter than their past.

Special shoutout to our son Dezmon "Bear" Simpson who tore his ACL the 1st District game and missed only the 2nd half and the
following game of the season. He played with a brace on the remaining 8 games of the season at defensive end and nose guard but will be playing SS on the college level! Thank you Lord for all you are doing and have done for these young men.
 

I keep hearing Edward Taylor name in the mix... I keep hearing bring back Ozen old coaching staff...(Nelson, Paul, and Walker from Odom).. Doesn't central have a bunch of Ozen cast off? Also heard Dotson.. What does the most Pear Orchard want?

Stevie Moore is the recruiting machine at      central.. He drops the sledge hammer on coaches when they arrive.. Just hire him and several good coaches and watch out

From Fannett Rd. to Colleg St. between 4th and 11th Streets is all zoned for West Brook, Marshall, and Vincent Middle Schools. This is why Ozen has low enrollment. Then there is a small area near Central that is actually zoned for Ozen. Why who knows. The area near Caldwood Elm. is what they call dual zoned for Ozen and Westbrook. Guess who gets the short end of the stick in that. The zoning in BISD is horrible and its time to be addressed, jmo

You missed my point yeoj...I never said that Ozen was a great school but none of the other two schools are much better so a parent choosing to send her kid to CHS or WB over Ozen thinking that they have a better administration/education is only a perception that the media and residents of beaumont has created. I graduated from Ozen and went on to college and graduated from there as well. I know plenty of guys that graduated from WB just in my class that flunked out of college got caught with drugs on college campus etc. And they graduated from Westbrook....Bad things have happened at Ozen just as they have at WB & CHS is my point.

Well, that's the nature of the district... Next year, Nederland could get PA Memorial, Central, and Ozen in a row..

No offense taken, but it's still silly to wish a team lose all of their games because of a decision made by administration, not the kids or the coach.  

Beaumont ISD has done a disservice to the school, the kids, the parents and the community. The travel in the district they "probably" would have been in would not have been that bad. They would have replaced Navasota and the longest trip would have been Livingston. That is a trip both Ozen and Central have made numerous times.
