I'm from baytown originally, so I have no problem with that  side of the river.

I don't live next to Ridge point any more either.

I just need yall to be a little more humble is all.

Marshall has a chance to win. I'd think Crosby would be the favorite, but I, for one, expect this and all remaining games to be close and hinge on penalties and turnovers.

    Just sayin'

But before the game last year, crosby fans were not rattling off how great the ridge point trenches were and how much of an advantage they would have in size.

It was simply that crosby would win by three touchdowns because Ridge point no longer had bulmer and the defense wasn't as good as it was the previous year.

So, now Marshall doesn't stand a chance. next year it will be Elkins and we  all look back and talk about how Elkins doesn't have the same speed in the defensive backfield as Marshall and that's the only reason Marshall won.

Wow a crosby fan who is actually admitting 22-5A is slightly better than 21-5A. I need to go downstairs to see if I can see ice on the walls lol.

Ha. Please read again. I said after reviewing the 4 playoff games only. So saying 22-5A had a better first round this year. There's a frost on the ground downstairs but it didn't freeze.

    Go Crosby

    Go NC, PNG, PAM

  4. The series split 2-2 this year.

With that said I'd have to say after reviewing only the 4 playoff match ups that 22-5A was a slight bit better than 21-5A.

Crosby is class of both districts but Vidor played tough.

    PAM blew Porter out

    PNG snuck by BH

    NC snuck by BmtC

After being dominated by 21-5A in recent years, this was a better year for 22-5A.

    Go Crosby

It's hard to play a game in a phone booth all night long and not have some extracurricular activity at some point. I think both sides got flags thrown on them fairly when they played beyond the whistle. As for all the other missed calls, I think the refs just really went out there and just let the kids play. Both team could've had more holding penalties called on them, I thought Vidor's slot back got away with early movement several times and Crosby probably got away with playing past the whistle at least two times. It was playoff football though, I don't think the refs were calling anything that wasn't egregious.

Vidor was Vidor and Crosby was Crosby, it was an intense and heated game that both teams wanted to win. Sometimes when competitors are overcome with emotion they react poorly. The better disciplined the team, the fewer times this happens.

I didn't see either team way out of line. It was a physical, emotional game. It got heated a time or two but I thought both teams kept it under control and both teams left it all on the field. It's not checkers. It's a physical and emotional game.

I would say several times this year I have personally just face palmed myself with some of the penalties.  These are 15-18 yr old kids.  You see the same thing on Saturdays and Sundays.  At least last night they weren't 30 yards away from the play. I would say it's interesting when the Refs are brought up, normally it's when a team starts losing.  I was sitting with a couple of my PNG buddies last night and we were seeing pretty much the same things. Both big plays from both teams that set up TD's appeared to be illegal lineman downfield that weren't called.  All in all I think the kicking game might end up being Crosbys undoing this year.  I also saw a post earlier that said the Crosby kids wanted it more.  I would disagree with that, all of those kids on the field last night played their heart out.

I am proud of them Pirates, and unfortunately, Crosby was as good as I thought lol.  I felt like Vidor had to win the turnover battle, but the Coogs weren't going there.  Good luck to Crosby.  The further you go, the better it makes Vidor look, imo.  You're a class act yourself Red Dawn.  Go Cougars.

Congratulations Crosby on a great football game and deserved victory. Good luck in the playoffs and represent us well. I will be there to support you on the road as long as you don't throw stuff at me for sitting on your side with my black and gold gear on. The best team won tonight but no shame to be found from my kids. 14.2, Red Dawn and you other Crosby fan / posters on here...mad props to all of you and I understand your love and support for your team. Again, good luck and represent! BTW, you're left side linebacker gets player of the game in my book. He shot the gap three times and made plays when we were in your red zone that saved the day. That kid gets the game ball.

Great game. Much respect to the Pirates.

Good game Crosby. Y'all wanted it more and went out and got it. Nothing but respect from here. Netherly is a beast! Can't wait to see him at my favorite college! Y'all got a fan in me from now on.

And 14.2 you're alright man. You're one of the few on here I'd drink a beer with. Enjoy it man.

Btw I like my crow medium rare grilled spicy with Tabasco and a beer.

Don't think we wanted it more. Both teams did. Only one can win though.

Wow, how classless by Jeff Mathews. Decline he penalty and go home. Dude should have had multiple penalties called on him.

Love ya 14.2 but disagree. His kids played their hearts out (as did ours). I'd have taken the points down to be sure the record books showed this game to be as close as it was, out of respect to his seniors that gave him all they had. I also say calling our kid classes for returning the interception is ridiculous. He's a kid. He caught a ball. He ran.

    Good game Vidor. Safe travels.

18 Exactly. I told some of the guys in yr stands I had even watching #52 on film and he was a filthy player. Crosby started whipping his but and he got some false starts called on him. Crosby had one player in player personal foul and Vidor had two. Crosby had on offsides, Vidor had multiple offsides and false starts. Look to me like Crosby was the far more discluplined team.

Was a very physical game by both teams. Vidor impressed me. I've said all along this would be a tough W vs the 22-5A district champ. Wasn't perfect but we're on to round 2.

You should be proud of your boys Vidor. I'm very proud of ours!!!
