TexAgs is fun right now.

Big day for Charlie. Hopefully he knows how to coach 5 star recruits He told McNeal he will catch the first pass of the season next year. I wonder how that sits with other recruits and current players.

@Brice_Jones: Malik Jefferson has committed to the Texas Longhorns

@Brice_Jones: Deandre McNeal has committed to the Texas Longhorns

The Titans lost to the Jaguars last night to remain in the #2 spot. These Thursday night games have been pretty brutal this year. Most of them have been bad matchups.
-
Last night was definitely weird. Brice(TexAgs staff) was with the famiky yesterday and reported his thoughts to Looch. Looch starting going off late last night blaming Sumlin for screwing up the DC search. Brice is sticking to his prediction that Malik is going to A&M which confuses everyone. Maybe Malik truly doesn't know where he wants to go yet. He still has about 45 minutes before he announces so he can still change his mind.

Luicci is now posting the same. Charlie might pick up 2 big time recruits in about 8 hours.
-
Ketch is changing his tune and now predicting Malik and McNeal both committ to Texas in the morning. Maybe he's just trying to sell aome subscriptions.

A&M left Nike in 2007 after asking for the same money as Texas and being rejected by Nike. They have been with Addidas every since and are paid basically the same as texas. Unless you are Oregon, I don't see how the shoe company backing you makes that big of a difference with recruits and players. I did prefer when A&M was with Nike just because I like the clothes and shoes better. Under Armor signed Notre Dame to the biggest contract in the country for 10 yr $90mil. Addidas and UA are paying more to pull some schools away from Nike.

@skhanjr: Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin announced offensive line coach BJ Anderson will not return next season nor will he coach in the Liberty Bowl.

Pretty good article on the recruitment of the #1 player in the state. [Hidden Content]

Do you have any data that backs up your claim, or are you just throwing stuff up against the wall and seeing what sticks? There are multiple studies that prove that the higher the star ranking, the more likely the player is to play on Sunday's. When your coach can't get these highly ranked players then your writers such as Fat Ketch and Chimp have to try to change the narrative and say that 3 stars work harder. They did a good job convincing you, so keep sending them your $9.95 each month. Texas lost these games by 23, 5, 34, & 38 points respectively. I'm not sure exactly how the defense earned a win in these games. A&M lost 59-0 to Bama, but they would have won if the offense would have scored 60......

Let's look at stadium size. Imagine if you are a big time recruit visiting a game. Would you rather go to a Bama game with 102,000 fans or a TCU game last year that maybe had 5,000? Stadium Capacities(rounded down to nearest thousand) A&M- 106,000 Tennesse- 102,000 LSU- 102,000 Bama- 101,000 Georgia- 92,000 Florida- 88,000 Auburn- 87,000 USC- 80,000 Arkansas- 76,000 Mizzou- 71,000 Kentucky- 68,000 Miss St- 61,000 Ole Miss- 60,000 Vandy- 40,000 Texas-100,000 OU- 82,000 OSU- 60,000 Tech- 60,000 WV- 60,000 Iowa State- 56,000 Kansas- 50,000 K-State- 50,000 Baylor- 45,000 TCU- 45,000 Ole Miss has the 2nd smallest stadium in the SEC with a little over 60,000 seats. That would rank as the 3rd largest in the Big12. Recruits get to go to games all over the country if they are good enough. The atmospheres in the Big 12 and SEC aren't even remotely close and the recruits notice.
-
Could it be exposure? Playing every game on TV in front of the entire country instead of regional games is pretty nice. It also doesn't hurt that you play against the best players in the country each week. This gets proven over and over each year by these same recruiting rankings and NFL Draft picks. I'll keep posting facts and yall can keep posting gossip and looking silly.
-
Most recruits are ranked before they commit. In the past Fat Ketch was able to bump some guys up after they committed, but it's a lot harder now that scouting has become such a big business. A&M currently has the #4 ranked class in the country which is only the 3rd best class in the SEC Texas is ranked 19th in the country which is the best class in the Big 12. There are 9 SEC Teams with classes ranked ahead of them. The recruits definitely aren't buying your argument. There is a reason that the only representation from the Big 12 Conference in the National Championship game will be from their referees.
-
If Malik commits on Friday that will give the Ags 4- 5 star recruits for the 2015 class. That is the same number of 4 stars that Chuckie has inked so far. He's doing a good job of earning his nickname 3 star Charlie.

2nd straight year Ags get the top player in Arizona. #4 ranked receiver in the country #WRAZ? @bangulo: Five-star receiver Christian Kirk commits to Texas A&M #Aggies #GigEm #TAMU #ChristianKirk [Hidden Content]

Sumlin mentioned doing something innovative. Rumors are that he will hire Co-DC's in Michigan's Greg Mattison and Florida's DJ Durkin. That would be an interesting pair. The hot young coach and an old guy that has been around the block. Florida had the 9th ranked D this year. Michigan was ranked 10th surprisingly.

Miss St is graduating a lot. What does South Carolina have coming back that makes you think they will be that much better? A&M played a lot of freshman this season. They should be improved
-
Big couple of days for the Ags. 5 star WR Christian Kirk announces today at 2:45pm- A&M or Arizona St 5 star LB Malik Jefferson announces Friday- A&M, Texas, or UCLA. A&M doesn't currently have a WR coach or a DC which could play a factor. Does Sumlin get 1, both, or neither of these guys?

Former Nebraska coach Bo Pelini will be Youngstown State's new head coach per a source.
