Good article, but most people would argue that the best baseball in Texas over the last decade has been played in Corpus.  Calallen and Moody have been Nationally ranked over the last few years and won multiple state titles in 4a.  The regional final series between these two last year drew over 7,000 fans a game(kinda reminds me of some of the Ned vs. LCM playoff games in the late 90's).  5a Carrol has also been one of the top ranked teams teams in their class over the last few years. Great tradition and fan support from Brenham baseball, but in recent years the best baseball is in Corpus Christi.

It will be an interesting matchup Friday with PNG vs. Vidor.  Probably the area's best pitcher against the hottest hitting team in the area right now. Hester vs. PNG should be a good one.

Both teams got handled pretty easily by PNG last week.  Who bounces back and wins this game?

Baylor only up 1 now Kansas down 12 with 12 min to play!  My bracket will officially be done if this holds up.

Is Lumberton's overall record correct?  Hard to believe they have already played 21 games.

Baylor's road just got a little easier with 'Nova losing.  They now have to beat 11 seed Old Dominion and then 10 seed St Mary's to make it to the Elite 8.

PNG by far had the best week.  They dominated 2 of the better teams in the area and looked very good doing so.

Sweet was solid and seemed to be in control the whole game.  Nederland had some chances early but ran themselves out of 3 of the first 4 innings on the bases.  You cant make mistakes like that against a good team like PNG. Nederland pitchers were wild all night and the Indians took advantage of that.  It seemed as if every PNG batter had 3 ball counts and was ahead in the count every at bat.  PNG was patient at the plate and made the Dogs groove some pitches, and when they did the Indians drove them all over the park.  It's hard to pitch when your behind in every count, good hitters will make you pay. Good week for PNG with 2 dominating wins over quality programs.  The rest of district should be interesting.
