  1. Some on here are making comparisons with the 2008 Jags and the 2015 Jags. The one comparison that has not been made is probably the biggest factor in teams making deep runs and that is the bracket. There is a big difference between (2008) North Forest, Lockhart, Angleton, and Friendswood compared to possibly CE King, FB Elkins, Hou Stratford, and George Ranch! There was also many returning starters on the Jags 2008 team. I believe the jags this year had 7 back and one of those season was ended before he played one snap. I also remember some of the same folks complaining about the same things which is the offense being one dimensional and having no passing game. SMH at the Jaguar Faithful!

  2. These comments are mainly directed towards soulja but I see this from several people on this board who I think may have bad memories of where there teams and programs were just a short time ago.  Take Beaumont Central for example. Here is a program that year in and year out has talent but sometimes is good and sometimes is bad. I researched this program top to bottom and found out some shocking information. Central is coming up on its 30 season ever and has an overall record of 173-136-3 and a playoff record of 13-15. They have had 8 Head Coaches Steve Shaver 86-87 (13-6-1) (0-0), Marvin Sedberry Sr. 88-91 (30-13) (1-3), Enoch Dixon 92-2001 49-53-2 (2-3), David Suggs 02-03 (18-6) (2-2), Eric Jackson 2004 (1-9) (0-0), Donald Stowers 05-08 (27-17) (3-3), Andrew Washington 09-2012 (22-23) (3-2), and Toby Foreman 2013-current (13-9) (0-2). There have been two outright district champs Sedberry 89 and Washington in 2010 and two district co champs Sedberry in 1990 and Foreman in 2014. There has never been a Central team go undefeated for a full district schedule. There was one 10 win season which was Suggs in 2003 (10-3). There is only one coach that has taken Central to the playoffs three consecutive years which Sedberry in 89, 90, and 91. More shocking than anything to me was there was only one coach which was Enoch Dixon who stayed at Central more than four years. The most playoffs wins any coach had was three. All of that being said I don't know how you question the direction of a program where it is headed now from where it was just two years ago in 2012 going 2-8 and in 2011 going 3-7.            Here are some pretty good area coaches records in there first few years:  Curtis Barbay first two years as HC of Newton (5-4-1) (8-3). His playoff record after 6 years (0-3). Dan Hooks First year as HC Channelview (5-5) and WOS (7-3) (6-4) (3-7) (7-3). His playoff record after 5 years (0-0). Larry Neumann first 4 years as HC at Nederland (6-5) (7-3) (5-5) (6-4-1) and his playoff record after 4 years (0-2).   Jack Alveraz first two years as HC at West Sabine (7-4) (3-7) first two years as HC at Kirbyville (3-7) (4-6) first two years as HC at Ennis (3-7) (8-3) with a combined playoff record of (0-2). Todd Dodge first two years as HC at Cameron Yoe (3-7) (5-5) First two years at Newman Smith (3-7) (5-5) and first two years as HC at Fossil Ridge (2-7) (5-5) with a combined playoff record of (0-0). Let's not stop in HS Art Briles Georgetown HS (2-7-1) (1-9) Stephenville (4-5-1) (9-3) combined playoff record (1-1). U of H first 2 years (7-6) (3-8) 0 Bowl Wins. Baylor (4-8) (4-8) (7-6) 0 Bowl Wins. Bear Bryant - Maryland (6-2-1) Kentucky (7-3) (8-3) (5-3-2) A&M (1-9) (7-2-1) Alabama (5-4-1) (7-2-2) 0 Bowl Wins. Mack Brown - App State (6-5) (6-5) Tulane (1-10) (4-7) (6-6) NC (1-10) (2-9) 0 bowl wins. Nick Saban - Mich State (6-5-1) (6-6) (7-5) (6-6) 0 Bowl Wins. Let's not stop there lets go NFL Jimmy Johnson - OSU (7-4) (3-7-1) (7-5) (4-5-2) The U first year 8-5 No Bowl Wins. Dallas Cowboys (1-15) (7-9). Tom Landry - Dallas Cowboys first 6 years (0-11-1) (4-9-1) (5-8-1) (4-10) (5-8-1) (7-7) Playoff Record (0-0).         My point is in today society most of these coaches wouldn't have been allowed to coach beyond two or three years because of impatien people and unrealistic people. Most everyone on this list is in some type of Hall of Fame or Hall of Honor or will be! Some of the so called die hard fans on hear should be careful what you wish for! Just my opinion!

  3. I don't think that $$$ is what Coach Foreman has a problem with or looking for. From what I understand the Central Administration has threatened to take Athletic Periods away or negatively altering them. How it was explained to me they are planning on taking coaches (including Foreman) out of the athletic period and send them to the lunches for duty.  To me this does sound crazy but I put nothing past BISD. I do specifically remember when the job was open before some of the comments made about this not being a good job were diirected towards the lack of support in the athletic periods from the administration. Looks like things are turning back to the way they were then!

  4. I was told from a very reliable source that Cleveland offered Foreman A LOTTT! He would be bringing five people with him. As far as I know he has not accepted the job but from what hear he has been getting very little support from the Central Administration and possibly could be without athletic periods next year. Probably one of the only bright spots at Beaumont Central is the Athletic success you would think the higher ups would try to work to keep him.

  5. Both Ozen and Central made the playoffs this year. Nederland and Central tied for the District Title while PNG finished 3rd and Ozen 4th. Coach Suggs was even voted the Coach of the Year by the other coaches in that district. So I think the idea that the two Beaumont schools have terrible coaching is kind of rediculous. One big difference that I do see in the mid county schools and BISD schools is support. Nederland staff has been in place for 20+ years and PNG staff has been in place for 7+ years. BISD runs through coaches like a hot knife through butter and that makes a huge difference. Coach Foreman inherited a 2-8 team and Coach Suggs inherited a 3-7 team and both have done well in turning those programs around in a short period of time. So PAM signed 14 kids this year does that mean Coach Harrison is a bad coach. NO! They had a bad year for a number of reasons, but not long ago they were a game away from state! Talent alone doesn't make the team, and every school and situation is different! I can assure you that the everyday obsticles that Ned and PNG have are completely different than PAM, Central, Ozen encounter on a day in and day out basis and vice versa. Some coaches spend more time helping kids get into college and that is a fact. Is that part of their job? That depends on the Coach in his beliefs! I think we should be very thankful that we have some Coaches that not only do a great job on the field, but truly care about the future of their student-athletes. Just my opinion!
  6. Curtis played behind Buster Ascoll and Morris was a sophomore that played a small role on that team. The 94 team was led by Ascoll, Merritt, Worster, Friend, White, Johnston, Gross, Nichols, and a very good coaching staff. They were definitely not led by Courtney Curtis! Also LCM beat WOS in 1983 not 1984. They beat WOS in 1994 and WOS had to forfeit their win in 1992.
  7. Actually in 2013 PNG was the #4 Seed. There was a three way tie for 2,3, and 4 because PNG, LCM, and Central all beat each other. It came down to points and Central was #2, LCM finished #3, and PNG was #4. So there is some validation on PNG finishing fourth in the past few years!
  8. Not sure who they were at Ozen to see, but I know that Baylor has offered PJ Locke, and Houston has offered Locke, Mike Jacquet, and Devwah Whaley of Central.  I keep up with college football recruiting and a lot of times when colleges come to town to speak with the players they have offered they go to as many schools as they can while they are here to see if there are any other prospects.  Good luck to all!

  9. I spoke with some of the Central football coaches this weekend at the regional track meet about recruiting and they said that there have been a lot of college coaches that have been by the school over the last month.  The website they gave me is www.centraljaguarfootball.com  It actually show some of the coaches that have been recruiting there school, as well as all of the current kids that have received offers.  I believe they already have five kids with offers and that is before the season has even started.  One thing that the student-athletes have to look forward to in the future is Coach Foreman and his staff promoting their kids.
