1. How can we get more white kids to play football in BISD?  How do we keep white families/athletes from leaving BISD? I ask because it seems like, from watching the high school playoffs, that some of the best programs have a large number of white young men playing.  However, when I look at BISD we have 2 4A football programs and 1 5A program.  We have at least 6000 high school students. However, there are probably only 3 or 4 white kids that actually see any significant playing time? Are non-blacks being discriminated against in BISD athletics?
 2.
Weed Be Back now.  Decided to post on this thread before it gets locked up.  I have been out a couple of weeks on business and vacation.  I missed the Pearland game because i had to be out of town.   Congrats to all Da brook players for entertaining me with their great talents.  sorry it ended this way, but as SGT said earlier, there is something to gain even out of a loss. I also want to add my appreciation for the coaching staff and other support given to these kids during the season, especially for the fans who stay positive through thick and thin.   Without any intentions to get into a p***ing match with outsiders ----it is a priviledge again to have my kids go through the WB programs, to have a wife and daughter teaching there, and to be asked for my 10th year in a row to represent the WB Band tomorrow in my big fat red and white outfit as they travel to the assisted living centers to bring the joy of Christmas season to the elderly and various challenged people within our great community.   While i am sure that the other area High schools enjoy similar opportunities, I am quite proud to be a part of this one.  Let us all try harder to back off the naughty and focus on the nice for the rest of this season----cause I'll be watching  and making a list  ;) :D
That's funny, I am ashamed I have to send my kids to West Brook.  When I drop them off I shake my head in disbelief at what that school has become.  Full of a bunch of gang bangers and kids all over everywhere with their pants hanging down below their rears.  Yep...those kids are going far in life!
 3.
Hmmmm  which sports are "black sports" ?
Basketball and to a lesser degree, football. In Beaumont:  basketball, football, baseball, band, ballet, bowling, synchronized swimming, etc.
What the heck are you talking about?  Did you even manage to read any of this stuff? Who's running out of BISD?  Enrollment is doing good.  As I said, this have nothing to do with the current topic...   ::) ::)
Denial isn't a river in egypt.  Bisd enrollment has been flat for over twenty years.  As for who is moving out of the district, surely you aren't that ignorant?  All of the white people are leaving bisd.  It started with the great ping pong ball debacle of 1980.  Slowed in the early 90's with the promise of neighborhood schools.  And has picked back up again under the watch of the current superintendent and board.  Since you are in total denial, look at the white enrollment in bisd.  It is around 15% now!
Your still not proving a point... Just sound like a bitter and ignorant individual...
So the non white increase of students in Nederland, PNG, BC, and Lumberton is due to the white people leaving BISD?   Or due to the current board and superintendent in BISD? Crime rate might scare them. Couldnt be any other reason or could it? Thoughts?
so are you trying to say those cities haven't seen white people relocating their from beaumont?  So the fact that lumberton has grown from about 2000 people to over 10000 since the mid 80's is because of the 4 or 5 black people that'd live there?  The blacks in nederland are likely there because of rita and blacks leaving port arthur.  I imagine some are from beaumont too.  There is a relatively large group of blacks that do not want to go to school at predominantly black schools.  All of beaumont and port arthur's schools are either all black or predominantly black.  So there are no longer predominantly white schools for them to attend.  In any event, white kids have not been given a chance to fairly participate in 'black' sports in beaumont.  Consequently, bisd loses good families who may also have very talented kids to other school districts.  I know my comments aren't politically correct but that doesn't mean they aren't true.  If you look back at the 1982 wb team you will see that it was loaded with very talented black AND white players.  The french team also had some talented white kids.  Since the early 80's there has been a "to heck with the white people" attitude/movement led by people like paul brown and howard trahan.  This has picked up dream again with the current bisd superintendent and board of trustees.  If you don't think this has negatvely impacted athletics in beaumont then you would be ignorant.
Yeah right...... That '82 WB team had 3 starters from Forest Park.  You're right about that French team but to say White kids are/were being denied in  so-called 'Black Sports' is ludicris.  West Enders are just sorry @football and basketball so they attend Kelly and Legacy if they stay here and the HF's and H-J's of the world if they don't
Apparently you don't have white kids that have attempted to play sports in Beaumont schools but weren't given a chance.  I'm not talking about my own kids but other kids that I have seen that were EXTREMELY talented athletes but weren't given a fair shot because they were white.  It is horrible at the jr high level so kids get discouraged and don't try to play in high school.  So, yes they end up leaving and West Brook is worse off for it.  White kids no longer have a public high school in Beaumont where they can play football.  They get an outside chance at West Brook but not much.  They are looked at more as a Rudy or a 'long shot' rather than legitimate football players.  And, of course, you can forget Central or Ozen.  They are 100% black football teams.  To say West Enders are sorry at football and basketball is idiotic.  But, it does go along with the mentality of the coaches at the public schools in Beaumont.  If you look at the best high school football programs in the state they are more similar to the west ender type than they are any other type.  Also, look at the best college basketball program in the country..it is full of West Ender "types".
All it proves is WB can't play with anyone outside Beaumont and is always over-rated.  They are the bigger West Orange of SE Texas.   ;) ;)
Correct.  And they always will be unless things change drastically.
 6. I hope LU sign a dozen  of them.  If nothing else but to make sure we get those PNG fans to come out on Saturday night to support LU.

Not trying to ruffle any feathers (pun) just curious.
Maryjane.
 8. Why does everyone love dodge?  Ok, it would be awesome if he went to kelly but not mu.
 9. Sorry but i'd rather see prewitt get the chance to prove that he deserves the job.  And we better recruit a few defensive players.
 10.
it's funny how ya'll can talk about kids like that. How can you say he is not that good when he turn the program around ima laugh at you allcause all ya'll are doing is being jealous cause ya'll couldn't live ya laugh
Huh?  Is that english?
 11.
Personally I would rather see Lamar loose at home to Div I teams from equal or stronger conferences than to ever see another game against a lower division school.  I think Nichols has actually improved themselves by almost playing no home games out of conference and going to upper tier conference schools.  That won't work in Beaumont because if Lamar was much under .500 it would take almost the entire conference schedule to get a decent crowd to the games. [/quote So you want us to model our program after Nicholls?  Hahahahaha!!!!  They avg about 43 fans at their home games.
 12. "My attitude is I am going there unless I get a better offer".    WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!  THLhose kind of comments pies me off.  We should revoke the scholarship offer!
 13. Nice choke!  Setting up to be another miserable season......
 14.
Thanks for the education.  I had not heard of Princeton offense, but I don't pretend to know much about basketball.  I recongnize some defenses and thats about it. I found this on Youtube along with many others on the subject. [Hidden Content] It is a constant motion offense, nobody stands around.
That's why I think it is so good.  The few teams that run it seem to have a better chance of hanging with the big boys.  We have virtually no half court offense.  We just try to beat or defender off the dribble.
 15.
It should be a boring game to watch... I don't enjoy watching the Princeton offense. If Rice makes their shots, it could be a long game for us, but I still expect us to come out with a W.
Are you kidding?  The Princeton offense is fantastic!!!
 16. Wow...all this lovin for LU and we got our butts handed to us.
 17. Harris is awesome!  I had no idea he was that good!  Too bad he was the only one that showed up for us.
 18.

Lol haven't played well? Maybe... but you really think texas has?
Texas is known for it's paided off officials, especially in baseball.
That might be the understatement of the year!
 19.
Proud of Roc for actually playing zone. Its causing Texas lots of problems.
Me too!  I didn't think he'd be smart enough to play zone.  Our defense played very good.  I was very pleased with our defensive effort.  However...the offense....wow!  How r we the second highest scoring team in the country?!  I thought we had players that could shoot this year?! Man that was UGLY!!!
 20.

I said earlier that Manvel's offense was very similar to Willis' offense and it would be alot of speed and spreading the field...obviously,PNG's defense 1) has been on the field too much since the O can't seem to get anyting going..2) cannot match the speed & athleticism of Manvel's O......it happens.
Let me guess, Manvel has black kids so automatically PNG "cannot match the speed and athleticism"?
This is a funny statement and one I have been waiting for. "Remember the Titans", To me a team that has all races will succeed the most. What I mean by that is, it should be equal across the board, no dominate race. Those are the teams that dominate on a regular bases. I hate the term more "Athletic"  What is that? Do you people think God made one race more athletic than the other? That is the same as saying one race is smarter than the other.  We are equal, it is what you do with yourself that seperates you from the weak. The strong survive the weak do not. Plain and simple.
I totally agree.  That is why you don't see all black or all white pro teams.  I think almost everyone has bought into the nonsense that blacks are better athletes than whites.  All races have great athletes and horrible athletes.  In beaumont we have basically now created black only football teams.  Our state champion teams:  west brook in 1982 and french in 1984 contained both races.
 21.
Really???  Aren't we past the race thing?
Are you serious?!  You must live in an all white town.  Move to beaumont and you will see Tthat the "race thing" is alive and well.  Now if you agree that blacks should receive preferential treatment in every facet of life then you will get along just fine with our black race mongers (carol thomas, paul brown, bo alfred, howard graham, oveal whitaker, terry williams, jessie haynes, etc)
 22. Ok.  Now for reality.  We lost by 32 to a mediocre smu team.  Central arkansas nearly beat smu.  We barely beat a poor ut pan am team.  We cannot play defense.  Oh and roc won't play zone.  So we lose 97 to 64.
 23.
yeah, lots of athletes & that area is booming, but the classroom is real challenging, if you know what I mean.
What area are they from?
