I agree, but don't forget about the other Bmt teams... The private schools, both girls and boys team at legacy have a good shot at bringing home the trophy! The boys made it to the final four last year! Maybe this thread is just for public schools 

Good to hear ur doing well Badsanta, I talk with a lot of people that knew Jones and Bush from Silsbee and I know Jones was really aggressive and mean on the court but they say he was totally different off  the court is that true! He son at legacy is just as nice and come on the court and football and basketball field and he's a better athlete then his dad was( dad would say the same thing)! Those were the days, good luck to you Badsanta!

What ever happened to the stat man from Silsbee, he was their manager when I played against them! He could tell you everybody's points average, rebounding, etc..I knew for sure he would be a big time broadcaster! Lol

The kids today are better because they play ball year around, back in those days you had true athlete that played everything and was good at everything! Good luck to you guys

You had Bush, Jones, Allen, Henry and Davis went to game before state the Bees beat them and then they won state! The difference between that team and the team this year is that they had height and they could run also and they played very aggressive everybody went to the boards and everybody played above the rim

The 1995 team was a great team

Hate to c the teams they've beat, but I can remember the Baylor girls team that year Louisville beat them or that year Silsbee was undefeated and got beat by chapel hill and that team was better with height! So don't count ur chicken before they hatch! Just saying they may be hot tomorrow night just come to play every game!

Whoever is going to beat Silsbee (which I'm starting to doubt there is anyone) after looking more in depth at the 4a level, it will take the following:

1) two guards that have great ball handling skills

2) a post that will dominate the paint (must rebound well) because Silsbee has two/three kids that can jump out the roof and one thing I noticed is that the Silsbee boys see the floor real well, and a couple have great basketball iQ. - knowing where to be on the floor to be effective (things that get overlooked by the common eye)

3) a team that will play Defense for 4 qtrs

4) a team that will get into the heads of the Silsbee guards (2) that I believe play with too much emotion

5) Must attack basket and draw fouls (Silsbee does the same and will get to the free throw line) the opposition must be able to do the same

6) if you can hold Silsbee to under 60 points - you will be victorious (GOOD LUCK)

I agree, the team can't just be tall! They have to be tall or have size and be Athletic I've seen a lot of teams that have size but not athleticism on any rate Silsbee did beat  some teams with just that so I think it'll be hard to beat them it's time for the boys to bring it home good luck!

Just in this area, up state it's a big thing all the high recruits go to prep school in basketball and football! The number 1 recruit in ESPN top 100 went to a private or prep school in New Jersey!

Jones dad wanted to know why Dontre didn't go bigger then Kilgore, He told me nothing against Kilgore because he play College Football at Blinn Jr. College, but he know what he done wrong and with the big number alone he thought he would've gotten more looks!

I also talked with Jones dad at the game and I asked him myself is Tre' coming home he wouldn't give me a straight answer and just  laughed it off! He told me Tre' played the PG at Legacy  in basketball ( damn Tre' is about 6"4 maybe 6"5 and can handle the ball like that) and I know QB in football and from my understanding a pretty good baseball player so yep he could help the Tigers in all sports even track!
