I'm not sure if the outcome of this game says more about Vidor or Nederland.  This is arguably one of Vidor's best teams in in the last 20 or 30 years and they managed to beat a down Nederland team with a second or third string QB by one point in overtime.

Man, give it a break about 2nd and 3rd string QB. The second QB (guessing that's the 3rd string) was more efficient than the QB that started the game.

    Vidor rushed 52 times=322 yds (11 1st dwns ???)w/1 int,1 fumble lost of 3 & **BH has 388 tot yds w/Qb Cauthon w/4 tdpasses=212 & 138 rush yds =1 td=5 tds(Qb went off). WTH happened stats are not that far away.Field position from 5 Vidor punts maybe??

Vidor was inside BH ten yd line three times, I believe, and stoped on 4th down. Coming away with no points. BH QB broke for close to 90yd TD run for one score. BH returned a punt for TD and two long pass plays for TDs.

  3. Everyone knew that Vidor was vulnerable to the pass and it showed tonight. Take away the one long run the QB busted for the score and BH didn't move the ball on the ground much, granted they didn't have to because how well the passing game was working. If you got a step or two on anyone you where gone with the field conditions. Definitely wasn't going to run down anyone with mud ankle deep. Surprisingly there wasn't many turnovers on either side with the bad conditions. Hopefully booth squads made it out without any major injuries.

Maybe that's some of the difference? $76k average for SETX, $93k average for the Houston area. The SETX average is about the same as the Houston ISD average. To put it in perspective, Neumann is the highest paid coach in the area and makes the same thing as Caney Creek's second year coach, Steve Svendsen, who still hasn't actually won a football game:

This is the hidden content, please

*Keep in mind schools like BH, Crosby, Manvel, Pearland, Angleton, Cy-Fair ISD, Clear Creek ISD, etc. aren't even on here.

It's hard to compare Setx to Houston. How many 1A, 2A and even 3A schools that averaged into the Houston numbers

Man this is a tough Dist., I just don't know if Woodville wants none of these Hornets or Cougars. Wdvl. coaches don't seem to know much about Softball or sports in general. Ace pitcher seems to stay in a lot of trouble...ERA is 6.23, avg. like 3 SO to 8 BB a game. Defense is avg....... like 4 errors a game. Not a whole lot of speed on bases, 0 SB so far. Team BA is I think like .183. Looking at this Dist. and those #'s that Mosshill is throwing out there, Woodville may just want to forfeit if they run into Hardin in the playoffs......they have to be scared, I mean have you seen those Runs scored vs Runs given up. Very Amazing and Scary. Still trying to figure out how Wdvl. are even ranked. I am still trying to figure out this game ??

Folks shouldn't put a lot of stock into what "Mosshill" puts out there. It's an open forum and one can wright whatever they can dream up. Even peewee coaches that  in someway believe they represent an high school program.

  6. Crosby played Angleton, who's in the third round for the second straight year and has that 2k type enrollment, and Nederland who is the best the GT had to offer. Rarely will a good 6A program drop down and play a 5A unless it's a rivalry game of some sort. You have to play the people that are willing to play you.  It's a lot easier than it sounds, especially with only two non-district games.

Thats true. It would be nice to see schools like Crosby, and others, that are good teams and travel well match up with some of the better DFW or CENTEX schools in the first or second week at a large neutral site. For one it would give each school some good competition before district starts and would be for some good high school ball to watch early in the year. If it could be played on a Saturday where folks from other schools that like to watch good games could attend. Something like a home and home neutral site. NRG and ATT maybe

  7. Netherly is probably going to go to state in the 200 this year, Williams might go with him.

Next year Mannie will probably be the quarterback, Williams will be one back and we should have back a healthy Grace to be the other. Trey Edwards, Jordan Hill, Teryl Wiley and Gray-Brooks will be the receivers. It'll probably be the most exciting thing people from Crosby have seen on the field since the '13 Twin team. Netherly would be the the biggest threat Riordan has had under center since Sulphur Springs won state with Rollison.

Crosby would be in a district with 8 or 9 of these 10 teams. New Caney, Porter, Splendora, KP, Humble, Lee, Galena Park, Crosby, Dayton or Barbers Hill. Keep in mind King and SC are 6A now, other than that Crosby hasn't lost a regular season game in three years.

Depending on who's on the schedule in non-district Crosby will probably be favored in every game the same way they were the last couple of years. With Crosby's coaching staff and the talent they have compared to the rest of the area it's not hard for them to win games in SETX, I think that's kind of evident from only the two regular season losses the last three years.

What's also evident is that Crosby didn't get a trophy for the regular season. Maybe the 10-0 comment was taken out of context, it was just meant to highlight the importance of the post-season to be the judge of Crosby's season vs piling up wins against SETX teams or winning a district championship.

It would probably do Crosby (the team) good if they could schedule a legitimate, top end 5A or 6A team in pre district then to challenge them. That way when your really challenged when it matters, like in the later rounds of the playoffs, the team has faced it before and will know how to handle it.

  8. I agree with you 100% on both of your post. That's what I like, giving respect where it's do. I'm in the "Golden Triangle" area now with 22-5A for the past 18 years. Originally from Liberty  County so I can look at it a little more reasonably. Top to bottom 21-5A has been deeper than  22-5A the last several years. The player pool is just not as deep over here. But then you can also see the difference once all of SETX, including the 22-5A district, make it to the secon rounds on. The Centex, And DFW areas are historically a step ahead. That's just my take on it, which usually doesn't mean nothing according to my wife. Lol
