  1. It's been awhile a PNG team at 0-3 in district play, don't see it happening Indians squeeze out a win.
  2. Anahuac will win some district games, don't be fooled.
  3. Your right about McFarland, he hit a shot along with Jake Speed who had a double in the 7 th but was stranded. Mattison threw lights out, but 3 errors in the 7th was too much to overcome.
  4. Not a well played game for both teams on the defensive side. The pitching was real good for both squads. Slade Martin from LCM hit a tape measure shot. Elhert (LCM) and Smith (Ned) were very sharp from the mound. LCM tonight played better defense and pulled it out.
  5. HF starting pitcher struggled early and gave up 6, Michael Lange, Spencer Cuniff and Joey Johnson finished it up with no other runs scored.
  6. Hamshire Fannett 17 Anahuac 6 WP Michael Lange HR's-Michael Wong Grandslam, Eric Neal 3B-Randall Courville 2B-Brett Frazier, Joey Johnson, Garrett Elizondo
  7. There's about 37 Junior Colleges and maybe 18 Div 1 programs in Texas. So when you put the pen to it 55 x 9 positions = 495 spots open. Stats tell you that 1 out of 10 high school players go to the next level. Few players will be overlooked; I don’t care if you’re playing at Westbrook or High Island. Most coaches work very hard trying to find a spot for their kids. Have you ever been put down as a reference for someone getting a job or been asked by a very close friend who would you recommend for .i.e. mechanic, doctor or attorney? High School coaches have one shot with a college coach, they can’t afford to lose any creditability they may have for making the wrong decision.
  8. With run rules, the game must go 5 so that has no bearing on the winning pitcher, same rule applies. Tournaments I don't know, you would have to give it to the starting pitcher of course if he's the only pitcher in the game.
  9. Hamshire-Fannett's Eric Neal 3 Games 9IP 1 Win.....2 Saves....2 ER...8ks .400 average this week at the plate outstanding catches in the outfield
  10. Matt Sanchez of Hamshire-Fannett no hit East Chambers and faced the minimum.
  11. According to the NFHS rule book, winning pitcher is credited by the following rule. NFHS rule book the winning pitcher is determined if: The starting pitcher has pitched the first 4 innings and his team is ahead when he is replaced and the team holds the lead for the remainder of the game. If the starting pitcher leaves before the completion of innings and his team is ahead, the official scorer will name the winning pitcher to be the relief pitcher who was most effective.
  12. If you have a player in the college ranks please PM with a name and link to the school. I try to update on a daily basis, if time allows.
  13. I seen the Ferguson kid play against Kingwood and he had the best at bats against quality pitching in the WB line-up. I believe he was 3 for 4. He was unlucky early in the game, as he was really on their pitcher when the bat was taken out of his hand with a caught stealing.
  14. Dishon is special, but really Neal is a RF, as HF's normal CF is Joey Johnson who was on the mound today. This year it seems that pitching and outfielders are the strongest positions of the local talent.
  15. jdawg I will try to help on stats, would you comment on the catch's you saw today.
  16. First, HF has to make the playoffs, this district has the No 1 team in the state BC, WOS who has 2 quality pitchers and one of them just beat Barbers Hill, plus Hardin-Jefferson and Orangefield. Huffman is one the best hitting teams I've seen this year. From what I'm hearing once your stud pitcher comes back it could be a long playoff run for Huffman.
  17. If the Schooling kid pitches for Silsbee they have a shot against Barbers Hill.
  18. LCM is going to be a tough test for Nederland espescially at home. In district play the pitching takes over. All those gaudy hitting numbers teams put up in non-district will come to a halt for all teams. Most Tuesday and Friday starters can get 75% of the lineup out, it's the other 25% that must come thru for you to win. This game is a toss up.
  19. HF.....130-200-0...6-5-1 WOD...002-000-1...3-5-2 WP Joey Johnson LP Winters 3B-Joey Johnson HF@ 14-1 HF has had a nice pre-district run but the real test starts Tuesday with the 1st district game against Anahuac.
  20. HF..000-205-0...7-10-2 HU..311-010-0...6-7-3 WP Eric Neal 2B-Eric Neal and Wes Underwood (HF) 3B-Randall Courville Huffman came out swinging the lumber but cooled off and let Hamshire-Fannett rally for 5 late. Huffman's top 6 hitters in lineup can really swing it. Spencer Cunfiff and Randall Courville had 3 hit games. Travis Moore pitched 2 really good innings and Eric Neal finished it off.
