  1. HF is on a nice run so surprising folks in district will not be happening, Bridge City is the cream of the crop in the State in 3A, and not far from it in Southeast Texas in all classifications. I still think it will be 4 teams battling out for 2nd and 3rd. The pitching in 3A is really strong, some teams even 3 deep.
  2. Bridge City 7 Ozen 1 WP Jeff Stringer HR-Kevin Angelle (BC)
  3. I like the Parsons kid. Why didn't Jasper throw him against LCM ?
  4. Dogs are looking strong. That is the second nice outing by the Moshier kid as he pitched well against Sulphur. If PNG can right itself before district and LCM clicking, look for very exciting district race.
  5. Championship Game of Liberty Tournament Final Hamshire-Fannett 6 Baytown Christian 0 WP Spencer Cuniff Cuniff was also 3-3 with 3 rbi's HF record @ 9-1
  6. Jasper can hit . MIF04, not only their first 2 but probably #1 & 2 of the staff.
  7. Bears swinging the bat. 11 extra base hits in two games. Elhert with 4 HR's already.
  8. Terry Miller was a heck of a ballplayer. I believe he was a 6yr letterman. It was great watching their 3rd base coach, he wouldn't leave the dugout to coach it until a runner reached 2nd.
  9. Bridge City 10 Kirybville 5 WP Phillip Meeks HR Casey Jackson (BC)
  10. Hamshire-Fannett 11 East Chambers 0 WP Matt Sanches ( no hits faced minimum) 2B- Spencer Cuniff, Brett Frazier, Joey Johnson Eric Neal 3-4 HF @ 8-1
  11. LCM, Nederland and PNG each have a chance of winning the district championship. All three coaches are experienced and I feel will come down to coaching in a crucial suitation. LCM- They had a rough time in their own tournament but to me they may have taken Jasper and Hamshire a little light. They preformed better in Brenham and currentely are back on track. Ehlert is still the key and needs help around him so he can get some pitches. PNG- Someone had commented about this team playing for I instead of team. There problem is scoring runs and playing defense. Look for the soph Harrington kid to step up. Nederland- Coach Robbins has this team right about on track. They have played the toughest pre-district so far and have been in every game. Deer Park, Clear Creek, Sulphur, Woodlands and No 1 BC is not looking to pad the win loss record.
  12. From PANews BRIDGE CITY -- Kevin Angelle struck out 15 batters and pitched a two-hitter to lead Bridge City to a 12-2 win over Beaumont Kelly and a 2-0 start in its own weekend baseball tournament. The Cardinals earlier beat Beaumont Ozen 13-3 in a slugfest. Jeff Stringer hit two home runs and teammates Casey Jackson and Angelle each added two-run dingers as Broc Haymon pitched a complete game
  13. From PANews LUMBERTON -- At least the Memorial Titans didn't have to go all the way to Shepherd to get shut out by the Lumberton Raiders Thursday. The two teams were matched against one another in the first round of the Shepherd tournament, so they decided to play it in the Triangle. Raider Josh Harwell scattered five hits and Darby Chikel helped him with a two-run homer in the fourth inning as Lumberton blanked Memorial 3-0. Memorial, 5-5 on the season, got five hits, two by catcher Cullen Griffin and a double by center fielder Toddrick Keller. Ben Lopez was the losing pitcher. Lumberton faces John Cooper Academy in a 7 p.m. game tonight.
  14. From PANews DEER PARK -- Beau Helmke pitched a complete-game five-hitter as Nederland downed Clear Creek 4-3 Thursday to highlight a 1-1 afternoon at the Deer Park baseball tournament. The Bulldogs, 6-4 for the season, lost 5-4 to Deer Park in eight innings in their other first-day outing. Nederland plays Cy Falls at 12:30 p.m. today and Houston Westbury at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Deer Park rallied with a run in the seventh to tie the game 4-4 and force an extra inning. Jordan Stanley, pitching in relief of Matison Smith, took the loss.
  15. From PANews LUFKIN -- Cody Mire hit a solo home run and Cole Johnson was 2 for 3 with a double, but these Port Neches-Groves hitters took second fiddle to Tyler Lee's hitters Thursday. The Red Raiders downed the Indians 8-2 in a first-round game of the Lufkin baseball tournament, feasting on PN-G pitcher Zack Harwood and a trio of Indian errors. Brandon Kersh hit a three-run homer for Tyler Lee, which got a complete game pitching effort by Matt Stewart. PN-G, 2-8 on the season, played Thursday's game at Hudson High, which is hosting the tournament along with Lufkin High. Today the Indians play again at Hudson High, at 1 p.m. against Henderson and again at 6 p.m. against Hudson. Saturday, they play Houston Westside at Lufkin's Morris Frank Park at 11 a.m.
  16. Nederland holding it's own @Deer Park Tourney against some pretty decent competetion. Anxious to see if PNG can snap back in their tournament @Lufkin to get a feel on how 20-4A should play out. With Lumberton coming on strong and Vidor playing some decent ball it might get interesting down the stretch.
  17. Hamshire-Fannett 7 Dayton 2 WP Eric Neal 2B- Michael Wong, Eric Neal, Michael Lange, Spencer Cunfiff 3B-Eric Neal Hamshire-Fannett 13 Liberty 2 WP Michael Lange 2B-Brett Frazier, Wes Underwood, Eric Neal HF@ 7-1 Record Day 3 Championship Game of Liberty Tournament Final Hamshire-Fannett 6 Baytown Christian 0 WP Spencer Cuniff Cuniff was also 3-3 with 3 rbi's HF record @ 9-1
  18. I like it, how about Southeast Texas Sports Forum Classic
  19. Dishon is a player. He can run, nice arm and can swing it. Plus he's only a JR. Of course his competetion knows this, an will be more selective in the pitches, as opposed to last year when BC had 3 Div 1 players in the lineup.
  20. One of the best CF in the area is hidden out in Hamshire-Fannett. At the LCM tourney he put on a show. Maybe Bear or LCM baseball can make a comment about him, as a coach in Orange County was quoted "he's the smoothest CF he's ever seen". Joey Johnson
  21. Your right, this kid can play and his name is Randall Courville. He can fly and has good size. Look for him to make some noise.
  22. Great site. Looks like me and Gary Stelly at KOGT have some help this year in posting the local baseball scores. I for one will pass the torch to this site as it is well ran and very informative.
