I agree he's not ready yet it's just a shame Netherly can't be used at his true position, i don't think he would be getting all the looks he is now if he had played QB since his sophomore year(he had always played QB correct).  Believe me i trust the staff they had the forethought to move him to WR.  Just hopeing during district #7 can get a look I also believe he will be "Special"

He wouldn't be expected to do much with the amount of talent around him. He has a stronger and more accurate arm than Crosby has had in recent years. Just throw it up and let your playmakers make plays.

I'm taking Crosby in this one. Crosby pulls it out late in the game. Manvel will have turnovers that Crosby capitalizes on. Props to Crosby for scheduling this game.

Assuming we go to the division 2 playoffs Manvel should by far be the best and most talented team we could see until we left the region. That being said, don't be surprised if Netherly outplays Manvel's first time starter and Crosby gets the W on the road. I think Manvel is going to need 40+ to win which isn't the easiest thing for a qb to do making your first start against a solid team, rather you're at home or not. 

I really don't know where to put Crosby. Real game I think Crosby beats Nederland by 2-3 touchdowns. 
However, Cougars looked awful in controlled scrimmage. But when it went live you saw the speed come out. 
Code Red will win lots of games. Not sure yet if this team is good... Or special.

The best thing I seen from the Cougars is they were all on the same page. Didn't see much of any mistakes. Even though it was Huffman, Crosby looked like they were in mid-season form. I thought we would see a drop off with Coach Mann leaving but offense looked better than it has the last 4 years. And Netherly is a legite QB.

I believe controlled scrimmage hurts Crosby more than most. If the Cougars look good in this controlled atmosphere they will flourish once Riordan is allowed to create his real game-time chaos.

Shame Nathan White didn't make the squad. He strummed Bruffy, who was first team all-state, when they went head up. Glad Keenen got his due and Pickney was recognized for his contributions. Pretty good dbs starting to come out of Crosby.

Congratulations to these three, they are very deserving of the honor. I attended a couple of the playoff games the last two years and of course the games against Dayton. A lot of good players in Crosby lately.

I am going to change course for a second and praise Crosby.
I don't think they are far away. They have the athleticism and speed.
As I said in the Houston setx thread, I think they lack imagination. and they started to fight among themselves when things got bad. The running back berated the line on one play in particular.
Ridge point played like one unit, each piece knowing how their role added to the ultimate plan the team had.
Crosby doesn't have some offensive mastermind as a coach that gives them any sort of strategic advantage.
So then you look and see if they execute play after play, and they don't.
they either have to get more fundamentally sound and air tight in their execution or they have to get more sophisticated on offense.

That's a good place to be. You'll get to see how Crosby stacks up with the other three 6A's that will be playing that day. With the cutoff numbers coming out today and Ridge Point turning in 2,348 they have a big advantage getting to play in 5A-D2. 

Should be at NRG tomorrow for Pearland vs Dickinson and Crosby vs Ridge Point.

MBG, I know it doesn't seem like it but I try to be as modest as possible on this site. I've researched this game as in depth as the Brenham game last year . . . and have come to the same conclusion. It's going to be Crosby by at least 2 tds and maybe more. Ridge Point has 26 fumbles and 14 picks thrown on the season. The qb has fumbled it or threw a pick 17 times himself.
So, to heck with being modest. Crosby rolls in this one 42-24.

He is just fine. It's just ice. The game was a walk through so there was no need in pushing any further. 

In a way I'm glad Crosby is finally playing a team some feel we should lose to. Ridge Point is solid on the offensive line of scrimmage, I believe they have three FBS/FCS commits up front. They also have  a four star corner in Terry Petry to try to go 1v1 against Mannie. He's also their best receiver too. Last year's RP team had one of the elite defensive units in 5A, this year they're more centered around the offense.
In four of RP's last five games there have been some shaky defensive performances though. They lost 35-28 to an Elkins team that Foster just beat 31-7, they went to overtime with 3-7 Willowridge but won 29-26 because Willowridge can't kick, they allowed 36 points to a bad TC offense and had to come back in the last minute of the game against PLC to get the 42-35 win in Freeport last week. 
I think Crosby gets close to 40 on Ridge Point, if the defense plays the way it has 10 of 11 games this season then Crosby might win it going away. Have to play clean football due to RP's ability to make you pay for mistakes though. I just have a feeling these kids have something to prove and unfortunately for RP their in the way.

I didn't think we could fill the void left by Carlos, but this kid definitely has what it takes to be the work horse. Just goes to show the depth on this roster.  Now we just need the chemistry on the offense to put it all together.
