I hope to see EC play this year. Coldspring may give them a run.

Coldsprings has the athletes, but don’t know if they have the basketball skill to go with their athleticism like EC does. Plus, I just don’t think anyone can run with EC like Coldsprings will try to do.

He will be in for a rude awakening. He won't have the defense he depended on at Alabama. I hope he does well, every week he is not playing The University of Texas.

I think he will be successful! He looked to be a better passer in his appearances this past season. Then give him this spring and summer with Lincoln Riley. He will only get better.

Home cooking ? How's that possible? The refs were from Baytown chapter, no? EC has a clear advantage in the home cooking referee department sweetheart. That don't explain defeating Kountze at their place does it? You lost to an all white, nobody able to touch the rim, extremely non-athletic team in Hardin.  Relax

I’m not going to go into detail, but maybe you should ask a friend or two that was at the game. Multiple Hardin people told me that no way Hardin should have won that game. I mean PHANTOM foul calls, technicals, you name it. Just to show you...the official book and both team books had EC’s possession and he told them they were all 3 wrong and he was right....lol

What did you think of Collins non-athletic Hardin team two years ago beating EC or an even less athletic team last year beating Kountze at Kountze last year? What about this years non athletic team who lost to 2a West Hardin defeating Kville and Warren who are both far more athletic ?

Maybe it's just the coach in Hardin? One thing is certain, it's not athletes.  He's got 10 white kids who are not selfish but hustle their nuts off.  I'm sure he'd like to coach an athletic team one day.  I think there's one athlete in 4th grade so.....yea

    With ALOT of home cooking

That makes sense now that I go back and look at Hardin's district opponents over the years.  It still blows my mind that a town like Winnie can be "smaller" in school enrollment than a town like Hardin.  The math does not quite add up for me when you look at the two towns.

Hardin covers quite a bit of area, that’s the difference. Plus to the eye Winnie looks a lot bigger, due to the commercial businesses because of I-10, 73, and 124

  7. Although I now live in College Station, and call myself an Aggie. I grew up as much a die hard Texas fan as probably Ehlinger. I cried the night Colt McCoy got knocked out of the ‘09 championship. I’m glad the rivalry isn’t played and they are in separate conferences, because I can still pull for each team. Call me a trader or a bandwagon, or whatever you want, but I’m glad TEXAS IS BACK! That was fun to watch. Reminded me of my childhood.

Simple. The boys games draw more fans therefore there is more ticket sales therefore more of a percentage of the gate for the officials. Economics

A flat fee then a percentage of gate.

Incorrect. Officials are paid a flat fee for each level they are officiating, then a one time travel fee. Basketball officials do not get any percentage of the gate fee.
