I listened to the game tonight and it was painful. No defense and felt like a basketball game. 

Oldschool2 I have read this entire thread and it did provide for some entertainment. Whatever your intent was on this thread, you certainly got it going. I hate that you're feeling picked on and that has a lot to do with the fact that WOS faithful are commenting back to just...well...you. What I can say is that some of these comments towards you are meant in a lighthearted manner. Chin up buttercup and keep on keeping on!

It is not the first time this season WOS has given up yards so, there is no shock value for the Mustang fans there.
Yes, if a team is large like Liberty and chooses to bunch everyone up and run up the middle, then they will get some yards that they too can cherish.  However, I don't think it will result in enough points....The ultimate measuring stick.

If wos had 2500 kids at there school I'm sure they wouldn't mind playing 6A teams. With only 600 kids at there school they have a ton of talent so how much more talent do you think they would have if they has 2500 kids. My bet is they would probably be one of the top five teams in 6a
 

The penalty that you so say heard about was due to Libertys Water Boy Kicking and slapping a WOS player as he walked back to the field from the sideline. It was so bad that they stopped the game because Libertys coach wanted to let Coach Thompson know what had happened and that he would fix the issue. There is also video proof if you need to see it so that you don't have to add this to your second hand information overload. For those that are eager to hear of WOS being exposed then yes if that is what you consider being exposed. They showed up and ran the Double Wing formation which is not what they have ran this year. It was pathetic as the spectators had to watch Liberty run play after play and then wait until 2 seconds were left on the clock to snap the ball. To some this was pure genius at work, to others it was the biggest let down to see them pretty much play keep away and still left empty handed. I believe WOS scored on 5/6 possessions and should have went 6/6. Time of possession is cool if thats what you think makes a team but it was very impressive to watch WOS score in 2 plays compared t watching Liberty play Rugby and lets pile on each other and see what we can get. If it is true that Liberty ran 60 plays with one TD and WOS ran 21 plays and scored 5 then the ratio is quite comical. WOS 4:1 and Liberty 60:1, you can have your time of possession, I am sure the Mustangs will take the points in the end. P.S. if you need $5 for a ticket so you can stop the second hand commentating and enjoy the game in person then let me know! I'll be glad to hook you up First hand!

I said it was their best chance to keep from giving up 50+ points and not getting shut out. Mission accomplished. But, it was not a strategy for winning. They lost 32-7. Mission failed.
 

If we were exposed and still won 32-7 then I hope we get exposed every week from here on out. You're reaching my friend. I agree this was the best possible game plan for Liberty. They played not to be blown out. If you're happy with 32-7 then go buy your coach lunch. EXPOSED!!!!! LOL funniest post I've read in weeks.

So we were exposed by giving up 7 points right ???? LOL people around here are hilarious. They bunched up together and ran it up the middle and pushed each other. We had the ball a total of 20 minutes the ENTIRE game and still managed to score an EASY 32. But at the end of the day we're 9-0 and not too many teams can say that. We will keep rolling, so settle for the "i heard" information if you want and watch what happen to any team that line up in front of these boys 

Liberty gave it their best shot. They definitely get an "A+" for the element of surprise and the effort. WO-S game planned for Liberty's regular offense, but instead they came out looking like a rugby team. They also tried at least two onside kickoffs. Kudos to their coaches and players for trying it. The biggest factor to me was not so much that Liberty got some yards, but that they used up so much clock WO-S hardly ever had the ball. Still, the final result...only 7 points. If this was being "exposed", I'd like to see another team try this. It didn't work and it won't work. For Liberty, it was worth it to keep from being shut out and not giving up 50+ points, but it is not a strategy for WINNING the game.

Lol!!!! I know!!! Many of us feel like we lost this morning because we got scored on.....let me rephrase that....SCORED ON! If that is the worst thing that happens to the Mustangs this year then they might have a pretty good team. Lol. I'm like TD, as long as we have more points when the clock hits 0:00, then I'm happy. 

Damn WOS y'all only won by 24 pts. What's the world coming to. Lol. I can't wait to check out WOS the last week of the season against Liberty. What your team is doing this year is crazy. Kennedale was a very good team y'all made look average.

Some folks are almost taking this as a loss because Kennedale scored some points.  Hey folks, WO-S won!  Was it perfect? No.  Are there some things that need to be worked on?  Of course and that is exactly why folks like Kennedale appear on the schedule.  To provide a pressure test to show what still needs improvement on the team.  I always felt that probably the most important game (aside of course, from the playoff wins) in getting WO-S the state championship last season was when Foster came in and beat them pillar to post.  It showed the guys that they are mortal and allowed the coaching staff to show them where they needed to get better.  I think last night's game has the same effect (or at least I hope it does) and WO-S was still able to take a win with the lesson this year.  Believe me, Coach Thompson and the 'Stangs are going to plug any holes that were breached last night.
Finally, I am glad that Kennedale scored and scored multiple times.  Not only for the reasons above but also from my perspective, this "scoreless streak" was once a chimpanzee that was quickly becoming an orangutan and was going to soon crush these young men under its pressure.

Yeah... Well, I mean other than getting down 38-0 and losing by 4 scores.

I'm not a big poster but have been on this site awhile now (before I got a screen name) and I have always read your post. What matters most is how big you support the Mustangs! Do not quit posting because of a few others sprinkled in. If I had to guess they probably don't realize how awful they're making you feel. Carry on Skip.

You have incorrect info. The first year the two teams scrimmaged, WO-S outscored PAM 20-7. The following year, PAM outscored WO-S by a lot. 
This thread is ridiculous. Congratulations for being part of the stupidity you refer to. Most WO-S fans DON'T CARE about who would beat who by playing teams in larger classifications. We're all about winning in 4AD2.

Rob, I know you've been friendly to WO-S over the years, but are you really proud of Vidor scoring three TDs in a scrimmage? The first one was a nice breakaway long run against first-teamers, but the other two were against a mix of JV players in the 2nd half...in a scrimmage. I'd like to see what would happen in a real game when the coaches are game planning, not auditioning players for positions and just trying to get reps. But, until Coach Matthews changes his mind... 
WO-S has seen so many slot-T football teams in the last five years that you would think it's the only offense known to man - BC, Vidor, Bellville, OF, HJ, etc. What I find interesting about the Kennedale squad is they use three backs who all have good speed. Not one of them is the brusing halfback type. Their offense looks just like BC, but the tailback speed will mean we have to be as quick as possible on reading their backfield. As for passing the ball, they leave much to be desired. One of their outside linebackers (#6 - Baron Browning) is considered the second highest rated outside linebackers in the nation. All in all, I think the 2015 Kennedale team was a little better, but they have a good pedigree and it's a good match for WO-S.
