I have.. watched about three games now.. hudl is a hell of a thing. LG is a one man show. Better than average defense and a hell of an athlete on the offensive side of the ball. If HJ can stop #22 and i do believe they can with their linebacker play, then hj takes this one and meets back up with the WOS Mustangs next week!! GO HAWKS 

LaGrange is a beast of a team. We all know that. Have they been significantly challenged this year yet? I know HJ and I know how good they can be. Ive read and seen film on LG and somewhat see an offense that relies on that unbelievable RB. Before anyone jumps on me for saying they are one dimensional, has anyone been able to stop him enough to make LG do something else? I think the answer is no. If HJ can at least slow him down, you might have a ballgame then. I know there are other backs. Im talking about the Leopard run game in whole.

I didn't mean it as #22 is all you guys have.. just 90% of the plays go through him.. LG is probably up there with WOS in offensive skill.. but as far as your defense goes you should probably go read the Bellville thread.. they thought their defense was the greatest thing since sliced bread and then HJ rolled into town and showed them other wise.. This should be a great game but if you keep on saying HJ hasn't seen a team like LG, well then LG hasn't seen a team like HJ.. Defense too much for LG.. HJ wins this one 21-17

We know LG has a stud at RB...but trust me we have some at LB..if HJ can Contain dobbins HJ wins

Thompson scores, and if any WOS fan thinks y'all earned that one, id sure like to see what y'all would've said had the roles been reversed. This is an absolute killer for the hawks, who held WOS to 1 first down in three drives leading up to the "touched" punt, and was poised to go in down 7 at the half and receiving the ball to start the 2nd.

All these WOS fans keep saying that HJ isnt 40 points better than last year.. I dont think WOS is still that 40 point team either..?

Contrary to what a few are stating here, this site isn't just about smack talk. I would hope you could have some intelligent conversation about sports, the teams, the players and the games.

Yes if that is how you took my post it speaks volumes about you. My post, simply put so you can understand, is simple you run a scheme that is good for your program and we at Slow/Un-athletic HJ high love it.. You stay with the scheme until in does not work, 3 deep in the playoffs last year, 8-0 this year, I will let you decide if it works or not. 
   The Slot T is the epitome of smash mouth football and misdirection, Sure the spread is flashy and fun but not near as fun as watching many a linebacker this year tackle one of our backs only to find that the one with the ball just crossed their goal line. 

Having a son on the team, I can honestly say they do not think WOS game defines their season. Yes they want to beat WOS, but then again they want to beat every team they play (who doesn't). As I have said over and over WOS is a quality program had been for a VERY long time if HJ guts it out and gets the win it will be great for the boys and a big win for the school but if we lose I do not see it as much of a set back. Win or lose,  the boys will be back on the grass come Monday preparing for Liberty. 
 
As far as ICEWATERS comment on the offense we run I will let that statement stand alone on how much of an idiot he sounds like. This is a FOOTBALL forum people in here understand FOOTBALL, I could post a list of the MANY quality programs from HS through college that use the Slot T but instead I will just leave it with this. If HJ ran an offense called the Little Bunny Foo Foo and went 8-0 with it I would call the coach an idiot if he switched to anything else, and next year 10 other schools would be implementing the Little Bunny Foo Foo offense into their program. 

The key to winning this game for WOS is if they can get penetration on the Dline, if our defense doesnt get penetration then it will be a long ride for the night. If we can hit that offense and limit that push then we will be fine. HJ is a new team and we respect that, if it were not so they wouldnt be 8-0. Like I said i give respect where it is do but I stand behind my team and if HJ wants it then they gotta come get it and if WOS wants it they better go get it from HJ. All in all you will see every body in the stands that havent been to HJ in years! Even the town hobos are ready for this one. Let the "Game of the Week" commence. Good luck to both teams and lets pray for no injuries and good sportsmanship. ;)  ;)

First and foremost unless you are a coach, or have a kid on the team I find it rather hard for you to have the "inside look". Throwing around stats and scores that you have googled is NOT an inside look it is a comparative analysis from years past.
 
If you want an inside look here it is,  I live with 2 players from HJ and I can assure you they will be as prepared as a player can be when WOS rolls into town. They will celebrate a victory or shake off a defeat and be ready for the next game. I am proud of the transformation that the HJ football program has made, the boys walk a little taller, the band plays louder, the cheer leaders jump higher, the drill team marches a little more briskly and the bleachers are A LOT more crowded. All can be attributed to what a winning program will bring to your school. 

Yall are setting this up pretty well..... If WOS wins by 40, you told us so.... If HJ looses by 1, you told us so.... I don't get it.... All this confidence and now its "not like Silsbee"? Make up your minds guys, is WOS gonna beat HJ like they normally do or will the mighty WOS Mustangs barely squeak by the "slow as maple syrup on a cold December morning" HJ Hawks??????? Make up your minds, don't be like Silsbee talking "half a hundred" and then be quiet as a church mouse the whole game pissed off at your own guy not starting the clock quick enough....C'mon man, WOS is better than that.... You gonna win or are ya gonna barely squeak by????? I will admit, I am not happy with where HJ is at right now. We should have dominated every opponent we have faced... Everyone of them are mediocre... But we let every one of them stay with us.... We show signs of domination, then let them back in the game.... We should beat you..... We have the talent..... And I will say publically, I am really happy Jack Dallas has turned out to be as good as he is..... A lot of schools like WOS probably would not have given him a chance.... No, beating OF does not make us good enough to win state.... Our boys, our gameplan, our heart, and the planets lining up correctly makes us good enough to win state.... The year my team won the 5A Co-Championship, we were 6-4... Just happened to be in the toughest district in the state.... French, TJ, Vidor (I think), Nederland, BCP, PNG and West Brook.... West Brook beat us that year, then in the playoffs Galveston Ball beat Westbrook and the next week we beat Galveston Ball with Kimball Anders (KC Chiefs) and Eric Hill (Arizona Cardinals) on their team.... So take your stupid comments, and your useless calculator, and all those years of professional football and go get you some business.... We're busy tryin to win a championship over here in Sour Lake.... Aint nobody got time fa dat!!!!

Tatum, center, jasper, LCM, and orangefield are 5 quality opponents. I think that would qualify as a
"Pretty tough schedule", as he stated. Lots of legit playoff teams in their schedule so far.

Its fair to say its the opening week in this district and that no one is over looking anyone. It's a new season to all these teams. Now is where the games really count. Should make for some exciting friday night football!!!
