The unfortunate thing is that Henry's ejection is overshadowing the fact that it was a great game!  There were some great plays by both teams, and errors, too, but overall I think it was a fun, close game to watch!  Oh- kudos to Ryan Leckitch for stepping up again when his team needed him!

So much for my prediction of a low scoring game.  Raiders gave up 6 runs in the 2nd (only 2 earned) and another 4 in the 8th.  Can't win many games giving up 10 runs in 2 innings.  On a positive note, the defensive errors were not something that we've been seeing so maybe we just needed to get that out of our system. In the end, neither team played great but PNG made a few more plays when they needed them.  Congrats on the win and good luck against Nederland.  

I understand where you coming from on the GCM game, but you have to remember Leckich was injured last season and not an option. Both pitchers should be able to get wins, so I don't feel that choosing Leckich was a wrong choice. Of course hindsight is 20/20, so it is easy to say now that Henry should've started.
 

Vidrine lost 2-1 & 1-0, one was lost on a throwing error, Indians have a chance anytime Vidrine is on the mound 
 

Players still have to make plays to win the game no matter who's up. Coaches sometimes get too much credit for winning and sometimes to much blame for loosing. WhI checked ever team makes less errors and the most key plays usually holds the "W"! 

Didn't Vidrine pitch in both PNG/Lumberton games last year?  I expect the PNG coach to try something different this year.

GCM had a good game plan and this game was what it was billed to be. Close game between two of the top teams in district 22-5A.

I think PNG's offense will be fine.  I don't think we are giving enough credit to the pitching of Morales of GCM.  He might not throw in the upper 80s but he is a crafty pitcher who does a good job of keeping batters off balance.  Combine that with his batting and he might be the early MVP of 22-5A.  JMO

Believe PNG did make a move midway, SS made great pickup and tag of PNG runner on stolen base attempt.

GCM is good team, they played good defense besides that one boot in 7th. PNG is good also, they need to start hitting, they have pitching but you have to score to win

Its like a circus out there right now. All the scouts out there and most of these kids have never played with this type of atmosphere before. They are playing me ball and not team ball. Coach Carter will get it turned around. Just let the craziness settle down and they'll be ok.

Any updates on the conclusion of this game? It was stopped due to a weather delay.

Knowing Coach Carter, his record and his history at Sweeny I really doubt anyone is getting special favors. People said the same thing when I played for Stone. Funny part was the parents had complaints about the line up and said he was showing favoritism yet us players didn't have any issues.

I just don't understand how you can place the blame on one player when no one had a hit today.
