Anyone who was around from the mid 1980s-mid 1990s watched how WOS dominated EVERYONE in the area. They became the gold standard under Dan Hooks. Very much like Pa Lincoln in basketball. Many of you youngsters don't remember that WOS was a 5A school for much of that time, then dropped to 4A, then 3A (new 4A).
I remember one year that we (Nederland) ONLY lost 28-7 to WOS. I say ONLY bc WOS was beating everyone 40, 50-0.
It seems that ever since, WOS has been the measuring stick for everyone.

exactly but only 1 but, Nederland is right there year in and year out also so..that is always a good measuring stick for us too both phenomenal programs

Come on folks either of these 2 are not overrated, if u were there then u see it both sides are moving players all over.All teams look rusty in the first scrimmage

Great, you are supposed to beat Huffman (though you dont beat them all the time). WOS is one the best teams in SETX. Compared to the teams to the North and West you are bye week in the playoffs.

just as Huffman is to us,besides only twice did a team in regions beat us badly wimberley and navasota

Another argument is that WOS gets beat by the first non-SETX team they play.
