I think so too because you would have the battle of Golden Triangle who get bragging rights as the best team. And plus we could have a LIL fun on here also. Silsbee will be battle tested when playoffs come from playing the bigger schools it worked for us last year and I believe it will this year. 

I normally really don’t do this but just in case it was for me!! First off I bleed maroon and white die hard tiger fan you even can find me in trophy case as All-State 94-95 year. I try not to hate “as some would call it” but if someone doesn’t agree or speak how they feel which might be different from ones other opinion we often call that hate. I spend a lot of my time housing kids,coaching kids, feeding kids in the summer all SILSBEE KIDS... I also support a lot of kids wishing them well to chase the dream I once had to play college ball and get that awesome education. If you noticed I said nothing about the pros because if you get a free education you won the game and all the hours you put in all the summer traveling paid off. Basketball owes me nothing because I used it to the end to get where I’m at. I was only stating about the YMBL because I was told this and my opinion was asked about the tournament. I do believe if all the local teams played it could get back to where it once was which was a big tournament for the GOLDEN TRIANGLE!!! And last but not least no hate at all I have a SON that plays for The team he was one of two freshmen on the team last year so if you paid enough attention to me and went out to trophy case you should be able to figure out who I am if you even care so you would know I’m not a HATER!!! 

I think silsbee could get a good enough test in the YMBL.  Honestly, other than the Wagner game, were the other games in SA a significant bump over who they’d play in Beaumont?

@kingjames I do the same with alot of these guys in Beaumont, so I'm definitely a little biased too. Also coached your son a few times during AAU season, so it's been hard to cheer on both teams when they play a team like Central. He's got a lot of heart, and that will take him a long way.

Maybe not all, but some of the football players will see basketball action Tuesday night at home against Beaumont Ozen.

Ain't it the truth!  We were shell shocked!  We kept thinking that it couldn't go on forever but it almost did.  Silsbee kind of helps it along by over committing trying to generate turnovers.  And to make matters worse the Tigers were as cold as ice from outside.  Even missing the rim on occasion.
The difference was, as usual, transition ball.  Even Silsbee Lite with the short bench is just relentless at pushing it.  But you really don't have much choice when you're starting 5 guards do you?  Don't care what you call them, they are all guards.  I almost wish they would drop the pretense when announcing the lineup and just admit it,  "At guard This One, and at guard That One.  Starting at guard Another One, at guard Yet Another One.  And finally, starting at guard A Fifth Guard.  But it's always great fun and the results have been pretty good.

I said Silsbee was a 4 point favorite. Missed it by 1.

This team will be fine they will make a run when the time counts. I’m kinda glad they haven’t started off excellent give them young guys something to work for and keeps them level headed. With hard work and unselfish play we could very well be looking at another title but that’s a long ways from now

I'm glad coach Sigler isn't afraid to take on big teams regardless of what players he has. If we lose we lose. Respect everyone but fear nobody is his mantra. I hope whoever proceeds him in coaching continues this after he retires. They'll probably have their full roster after this week anyways. They just need a little time to gel after that.
All that really matters is how Silsbee is playing come playoff time.
 

Silsbee has to play with what they have right now. It always works out at the end of the season. The team Atascosita beat was down 2 starters and the first 2to 3 off the bench. That’s pretty significant. Not taking anything away from Atascocita...they are ranked #2 on this site. Although I believe Memorial should probably be #1 right now. 

After watching some film, Bay City is a lot like Center but better. Bay City offense runs through their QB, the first true duel threat QB Silsbee has seen this year, 2,000+ passing/1000+ rushing. He likes to spread the ball around.  They have a big running back that likes to impose his size on defense's, doesn't have top end speed and not much of a cutter. The WRs are a good bunch, short routes, deep routes and speed. The Bay City defense is quick. They flow to the ball with great pursuit and like to gang tackle, ok on one-on-one tackling. Their run defense they like to plug the gaps with LB on stunts and blizes and rely on their front to put presser on the opposing QB, DBs has some speed. The Silsbee offense, after last week, needs to clean it up. Four turnovers and run blocking, to many time our RBs got hit in the backfield or at the line of scrimmage. We should be able to run the ball and if they pull up to stop the run we should have no problem going over the top. The Silsbee defense should be able to get after these guys. If we contain their QB like we did last week it will be a long night for Bay City. Again, I don't think Bay City has seen the overall team speed like what Silsbee will put on the field Friday night. Should be another good played game. If Silsbee offense plays clean I see a 42-28 win. I know, a homer pick. TigerNation!!!

Funny side note:  was talking to a mix of non-SETX folks at start of Silsbee game.  Told them that I thought Silsbee had the perfect coach in Sigler was to handle to all the talent it’s blessed with.  One responded, “I would guess so.  Who is talking back to that man???  He scares me and I’m a grown a$& man!” Pretty funny
