Really? I don't remember it this way. After attending any LC-M game I seem to hear Coach Jeffcoat's voice in my sleep that same night yelling "PUSH, PUSH".

I've personally never seen a game in his almost 2 years of Head Coaching that he seems to want to slow the game down and play it in the 30-50pt range.

Pull up game in silsbee last year and tell me what that’s called until he couldn’t do it anymore

Excuses work both ways bro !!! And it looks as if silsbee has had 8 really bad games ..and don’t give me that silsbee lite, big city / big classification excuse ...point is if silsbee has a bad game vs either of those teams they COULD lose

Bayou that works for any team come playoffs if you play bad in playoffs or a bad game you lose that’s nothing new

Glad to be wrong on this one. But I'm a big boy, can take the criticism that surely will come my way. It seems it already has on Twitter. It's all good.

Really thought HJ at home would make this a much closer game being that they have been playing really well of late and Silsbee was in a bit of a slump.

Defensive Intensity was at an all time high if they play defense and rebound like they did last night they very well can win it all again.

To clarify my "Yates wins by 30" comments, it seems some have taken it literally. No way in hell do I actually think Yates will beat Silsbee by 30. It's sarcasm. Some on here get it, others did not. My apologies.

I guess I need to insert the "roll eyes" when I make those kind of comments. My bad.

I truly believe Silsbee is still the favorite to win Region III and beat Yates.

I knew what you meant but this is a Sports Forum if that was how you felt so what people needs to respect it and move on

I have zero doubt you are out of your element in this argument, as virtually everyone has known other than you.  Indeed this has become a ridiculous, tired line that you’ve taken throughout this “crusade” of yours.

Of course there are a variety of ways to earn scholarships.   But for basketball, certainly the best recipe is playing high profile summer ball.   But don’t take my word for it, ask the guys that have those schollies to give.   And I’ve been to multiple events in the past few years with scores of those guys.  One such event routinely has 300 plus D1 coaches under 1 roof.  Let me know the next time a “Big 3” game gets say 10 percent of that number, maybe even 1 percent of that number.

But for someone who always seems focused on points alone, it is nice to see you mention being a teammate.  Because unselfishness and being a great teammate happens to be one of this kid’s biggest strengths.

Right on coach but remember you talking to someone that doesn’t wanna listen to you

HJ was tough tonight. They will be dangerous in the playoffs.

If that's the best LCM can do Silsbee will roll them in district and it will be a short stay in the playoffs. They bottled up the main threat for most of the second half and couldn't convert.

They are beatable by anyone at this point they are not the team you use to seeing!! And I’m a TIGER fan just speaking facts not a dig at anyone

Silsbee was gonna win easily to according to some people.

We tend to make excuses for our team we just went down there and lost got our butts kicked. If Yates played Center and won that still don’t make them beat us. Silsbee is not invincible we lost no big deal too much comparison and remember my words on here one of the two teams want make it to regionals final too many people want this game and right now MY TIGERS LOOK VULNERABLE!!!!

How can you not compliment the young men on a team that goes (15-1) in my opinion they deserve some credit for that....On the flip side of that coin the strength of scheduling may be suspect but that's on the AD/Coach...Whatever route serves your team best do it....Congrats on the early successs  good luck the rest of the season....

You ask a question and answer at same time that’s pretty good

I have to say, I wasn’t there last night but I have heard a couple opinions that Center is better than Yates. Not my words but coming from some who have seen both.

Yates would beat Center easily 12 plus my opinion our defense is terrible Yates would have turned it up Center has no true guard and Serialle would eliminate the big boys so Yates would win easily

So, what does Center have that allowed them to beat Silsbee?  Was it lack of bench production?  Lack of length and size?  Outcoached? I wasn't there, so this is a serious question...

It’s not the end of the world Silsbee just got beat foul calls was double easily but no excuse the kids have to adjust Joe Sigler don’t loose games and I’ve never seen him out coached the kids have to run the plays and if you ask me Silsbee needed this hats off to Center

One of the things that makes basketball so much fun is that it really only takes a few people to play the sport. I think it is realistic that two top notch players and a few role players who can do their job can win a state championship in 4A. Not many teams have ten or more players like Silsbee did last year. There are more than twice the number of basketball schools in this state that there are in football. Right now there are probably about ten teams that can win a state championship. There are at least ten who can beat anyone else in the state on any given night.

It is pretty hard to repeat in basketball. This team has a chance but they must figure out how to play with six to eight players instead of ten or more. They must also figure out a way to replace Willie Jones. There are not many teams have a player of that caliber to come off the bench.

I have seen a number of small schools (2A and 3A) that could play with or beat a team like Silsbee but it is hard for them to string together the six or seven wins that are required to advance all the way to the state finals.

Well those 2A and 3A schools should make state right

WOS is still in football season also. Never said anything about us beating y’all. You seem to be in your feelings because i said y’all were beatable ? SMH. Any who the tigers are still my favorite to win it all but it won’t be near as easy as last year.

I think anybody is beatable that’s why they play the game. Just like you guys in football

Well, that'll probably be it for the No. 1 ranking.  And that's a little disappointing.  If we had won this one and showed well at the Dallas tournament we would have kept it till our last game.  I sure hope we get to play Center gain.  That would be a fabulous rematch.  And on a neutral court with everything on the line.

We wanna be number 1 after the second week of March

He was talking to me about my LSU tigers. Saying how it's hard to compare different positions, Pistol Pete a guard and Shaquille O'Neal a post. Both great players but hard to say who was the better player.

10-4 I’m a Tiger fan and just because of BMT SOUJA feels the way he feels all Tiger fans don’t feel that way I think the kid is a heckuva talent watch him grow over the years basketball wise and we shouldn’t crucify every game he plays the great ones have off nights like I said before it’s over move on and be better

Yeah but we only have KD.   Couldn’t come up with a good analogy there :D  Hopefully Bamba will be a perennial all star and we can use him next time :D

    Gotcha

Obviously he would have to finish his sophomore year to see how they compare after to each other after 2 years of high school ball.

Hefner started as a freshman and Weisbrod didn't, does that make Hefner better? Of course it doesn't. Just like if Hefner doesn't win offensive player of the year this year doesn't make Weisbrod better than Hefner.

    Well said!!!
