The bottom line, HJ didn't dominate one phase of that game. The only time our offense sputtered was due to the refs bombarding us with flags. You wanna talk about "ifs"?? If the refs stay out of it the score would have been far worse than it was. We run for 12 then get backed up 10, we go for 20 then get backed up again. It was ridiculous... WOS IS 21 points better all day, every day

You may have gotten it from one of my twins. Thanks for supporting our project safe graduation. Those ladies (and gentlemen) do an incredible job.

Gotta disagree here. If HJ can't run their offense when they are only two scores behind with an entire half to play, you better get another offense. I can understand maybe three scores, but two? The coaches would have run the same gameplan they started out with at that point.

Congrats to WOS. Did what you needed to do. Refs were horrible. Have been all year. And I mean that for both teams. If everything works out right. Well maybe we meet up again. Go Hawks. Good luck in the playoffs WOS. Represent. I'll be rooting for ya. Hoping to get that rematch.

This game played out how I expected. I expected HJ to play them close for a half and WOS to pull away. It should have been 14-7 at the half instead of 20-7 apparently. But as some correctly pointed out, you can't rely on the run alone and beat a team of WOS's caliber. You have to effectively (and selectively) mix in the pass to keep the defense honest. Unlike a few advertised, HJ is at a speed deficit against the Mustangs and apparently the dozen or so hawks benching 300 weren't able to control the line of scrimmage. If anything, WOS strength tonight was the run as evidenced by Teate's 200+ yards rushing. And that happened in no small part to WOS linemen pushing those big HJ guys off the line of scimmage.

i have to admit as bad as i WANT to rub this in some HJ fans' face. I can't. The Hawks are a good team and their fans believe in them and love them, Hard to hate them for that. Good luck HAWKS! Why do refs in big games have to prove they are bigger than the game itself?

I'd like to think it's just good fun between a good group of guys.

We gave donations to them to show our hospitality towards you.

So if all your freshman is up on your JV along with your sophs and you still got beat 42-0 against OUR freshmen and sophs..hmm..you might want to bring some varsity down. Our sophomores must be really good.

Cold hard truth is last year you (hj) were just another notch on our gun leading up to Silsbee. We really didn't care about you, just another stepping stone (insert 46-6 score here). Your entire year has been geared to beat us this year, guess what? Instead of you being just another notch, this year your in OUR crosshairs. You better be ready, because unlike last year, this means something to us as well. No, it won't be a cakewalk, but we are coming in with guns blazing (not literally just in case the FBI is monitoring :) ). WOS may be as amped up as hooterville is for this one.

Lord, we are thankful and mindful of all things you have given us today. We pray for each and every player that takes the field this weekend. Lord, we ask for hedge of protection around these young men taking the field, and for all the fans, drill teams, bands, and cheerleaders, traveling to and from the games. Give these young men courage to do their very best at what they have been trained to do and play to the very best of their abilities. To play the game with honor, dignity, integrity, and respect for their opponent. To play the game with a clear mind and a strong spirit. Help us to be gracious losers and even more gracious winners. Help us to be mindful not to dishonor you in our actions should we win or lose. In all these things, we give you the praise, honor, and glory. Amen

Well all but this year and last. We had a different coach. 8 years I believe. And he is gone moved on. I like our chances a lot better with our current coach. You can not blame us for rooting for our team. Yes WOS has dominated district the last 10 years. But when WOS dropped from 4a to 3a you guys and myself included thought they might make it to and win state. But here we are 10 years later. No state rings in that time. That 3a now 4a level is a lot tougher than people thought. Good luck tonight. Go HAWKS

just a little halloween costume advice for the hooterville hawk...come dressed as a crow, but run for your life from all the disappointed hj fans afterwards. Seriously, good luck to both teams and hope it is injury free.
