Got all the emails and communications from school. Tickets, passes and Student ID's will be honored at Lamar...as far as the score. Silsbee has way way to much fire power and will mash Livingston. Silsbee will be starting 2nd team by second half and they will roll. Silbee will have to fight to keep the score under control.  

Hardin has some proving to do before I go stand behind bold statements like, "no way Hardin looses" 
Oh PS...I helped broadcast the Woodville game and they are much improved. FYI

Kountze beats HJ if Kountze scores 28 plus points in the first half and holds HJ to 10 or less. If Kountze does not score the points in the first half and give up to many than HJ pulls it out. Kountze 28 HJ 24

I see a coach using the preseason games to season his younger players to increase depth...smart coaches don't make winning the number one priority in the preseason games.  I do understand there is a balance to be had as not deflate your team, but a new coach trying get a handle on the finer details equals trial and error which is not the best combination for winning early on but could be the key to winning when it counts...just my thoughts.

I really did not take this as a race thing...more like geographical socio cultural athletic alignment issue...I actually understand the fact that folks don't want to forget the pride felt in Hebert as it defines a part of a society. I just don't want the desire to remember erase the brotherhood and real friendships constructed between two different cultures. It's not being racial to exhibit pride in your heritage and it's not racial to give credence to it...yes maybe not adaquitly explained and flawed...but not racial. You know what's pretty cool...even when West Brook wins there some Hebert heritage envolved! Win win situation in my book.
 
 

I did not know it was 3...thought maybe 1 in the late 70's but thats why I put a question mark because I did not know for sure. Coach Williams is a great guy and I am friends with both his sons. I will give you the line of thought on Basketball...and to be honest early on in the infancy of WB, Hebert had a big impact on the athletics one would be foolish to think they did not...but to me WB was special because a group of people actually came together and prospered when alot of folks said it was not possible...I guess that is why I hate to see division within the history of the school. Coach Simpson was my coach at Little Brook and was very influential in my life. I always enjoyed his Hebert stories. Being a Bruin I always felt that bear had a little Hebert pride. Some of my fondest memories are the days spent the football field @ Alex Durley.   

ha ha you right they did it all the kids - LET ME CHECK MYSELF-- Hebert won 3 state champ in football and 3 in the roll in basketball the last three in basketball were in the last three years the school was open, they  then didn't loss a game at West Brook gym in 5 years when coach Williams was head -- the year before they close, they loss in the semi finish in football - Coach D. 7-8 years he had only 7 losses-- but it was a team that done it and a community thing!! i'm not starting that  you're right

Ok your over cookin my grits...how many State Championships did Hebert win? I know Forrest Park did not win any. But when you put them together they produced one as WEST BROOK. I don't believe just because Hebert switched field houses they magically became state champs and I don't believe FP's entire football team hung it up...So the obvious is this: One needed the other...of course that is using logic not kool-aid. That was special group of guys that started out being band players that somewhere along the way became a band of brothers, became a squad! and together shocked Texas High School Football. In my opinion they overcame the rhetoric***** "you better talk to somebody that was there, West end just paid for the bus got on it  and when for the ride,,,, TRUE BLUE and GOLD baby iT was REAL  -- HOME OF THE PROS -WEST END  PLEASE"

I think Memorial is a good team but played poorly. They may have been taking the Panthers lightly since they have defeated them

My friend...I played for The Brook and I never under estimated the importance of the talent that did not live in the west end of Beaumont, but i promise you the west end of Beaumont had legit athletes that have contributed mightily to the success of West Brook's football program. Heck Jerry Ball lived down the street from my wife in Amelia and I could name a multitude of game changers throughout the years who were west enders. 2nd now with the school options kids have being as to where they live...well if you live "on this side of IH10" you can go to school there...ie...OZEN. It has been that way for sometime now and the football program has just kinda laid there in my opinion. I truly would love to see Ozen do well...heck one my friends is a a coach for Ozen. I don't think this is the year Ozen beats West Brook, but sooner or later a coach will develop the collection of talent at Ozen and that will happen down the road.  But if Ozen is to be successful, the parents are gonna have to be content for more than a couple of years and allow a coach to build a system, a program and most of all loyalty and trust with the athletes. When I say content I mean not calling and complaining and gripping and demanding change because the right kids are not playing or you have a rough season or in your opinion the wrong offense and defense are being run or the coach has a purple dog...lol...I'm being facetious but you get my drift.  (I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT ANYONE IN SPECIFIC...JUST KNOW THE LANDSCAPE SO NOBODY GET CRAZY) It will take a Coach a minimum of 3-5 years to get that program into year in and year out contention. I like the coaching staff at Ozen and think they will do well in the future...Like the Baseball hire as well (off subject sorry)

That is awesome...I hope they give him an extra week to make sure he is good. I know sometimes what we see in the stands looks bad but sometimes a good portion of what medical personnel are doing on the field is precautionary, because its impossible to be sure just how serious an injury can be on the gridiron...and when you are dealing with the neck head or back its the best approach...get that MRI or scan and know for sure. I have gone down with a bad stinger and thought oh crap I have just jacked myself up...scary moment for a teenager! Scary moment for family when you have a scene such as the one with this particular player. Very glad all is good but once again I hope they are cautious.

you said the same thing about Memorial base off a scrimmage. I have some smoke crow waiting on you after this one. And if it happens just give Ozen their credit they're just good this year. Great Post. Believe Ozen has the team to bet anybody this year. Just make sure you're on here after the game! Just curious what's in the bone?

I picked Woodville over Buna before the season even started lol this win and Buna's loss didn't effect my 4-spot that much.
