They don't choke, they are what they were each year, a team that had to out score people and be perfect on offense. You have to eventually be able to stop somebody. Nederland in years past puts their hosses on defense, crosby and PNG go on the offensive side of the ball with a couple of exceptions. People say the twins were Crosby , but you look at the tape last year and that O line is pretty special.

First year, first game for a new coach. Look at the film from that game and it wasn't so much changing the offense as the O line learning their assignments. So many missed assignments made a really really good front four look like the best in the State. Plus, they aren't there anymore, but the COOGS do have a pretty legit O line. So Crosby didn't change their offense, they learned their assignments, big difference!

I don't remember who the kid was for Dayton, but he graduated in 2013 I think. He was a beast lined up over the center.

i agree with the 3 man front. Unless you have a stud at nose. Dayton has been blessed over the years with kids like Passemore Kimmie Hill and Wright at nose. When you don't have those kids get ready to try and out score most good teams.

When I got stationed in Orange back in 2003, my kids were elementary and middle school age. The most important thing for me was the school system. We settled in Groves and would do it again. Now having been stationed in Ingleside, Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, and Orange, I have heard the term "Armpit" of Texas. Having lived there, I didn't agree with it.

Denny for bh is a perfect example. Tore his ACL playing football his senior year and missed his entire senior year of baseball. Still a UT commit though.

I watched the freshman team play Summer Creek last year and they had athletes on both sides of the ball. Was really impressed with the size of the offensive line. With Morse at the helm throwing to that big target on the outside, could be something electric. What will the defense look like though?

why is everyone crying about trash talking? every team does it, it isn't a surprise to me at all. I  know PNG got kicked out last years tournament with the skirmish with GCM. I myself know that when PNG played Manvel I saw my team do some things that had I been a coach I would have kicked him off the team, but not knowing what is going on in the trenches and being said, all I can do is speculate. In that game I watched a lineman for us pancake one of the marker umpires , and  on another play kick a manvel player dead square in his jewels. I could nt believe what I saw and the sad thing is it did happen. Im quite sure there is a lot of jawing going on . would love to have players from both sides miked up just to hear how innocent all of our kids are. im sure there would be some serious beat downs by all of us parents. Now as far as friendly smack talk, last year with the twins they were the better team I don't deny that. knew it before we ever played a down. That was last year, this year it has been very interesting in both games we played with PNG on top. Been saying all along I want to meet Crosby in the playoffs with all that D1 talent and return the favor from last year. Seems to me that we are very evenly matched as to personnel.  With that being said, Friday night football cant get here soon enough. I can rest assured you every team has that bad apple, no one is perfect, so why point the fingers, its just 7 on 7. I don't expect the real jawing to come until they put the pads on.

I am the farthest thing from a crosby cougar fan. In fact we are at each other's throats all year long. But u show me man that says their highschool football team has never had players with attitudes that talk smack to other players and other fans and I will show u a liar. No one can say theit team is perfect. I have met many crosby players and for the most part they are good kids. There are some sour apples just like any football program.

congrats to PNG on winning the 7 on  7 tournament. Good showing on winning a tournament that you got kicked out of the previous year. I think it is a good indicator that Morse will be starter this year while Walker will be cornerback and backup should Morse go down or have a non productive game with multiple turnovers etc. But with that being said I still don't put much stock into the whole 7 on 7 thing. It helps with the timing between QB and WRs, but in the end I still believe  it doesn't matter till its 11 on  11 in pads with full contact and coaches making or not making calls. Do I think we will win state honestly no, do I think we can go out win district , oust Nederland and put a stop to their 4 year win streak hell yes. I can see us going to the second round of playoffs , but who knows that is why they play the game. I honestly think PNG is a legit contender for district title this year along with Central and Nederland, I'm not overlooking GCM because they are new to the district, Lee I know nothing about consider them the bottom feeders this year. I'm expecting good things this year from PNG, with that being said I'm still worried about Defense and special teams as I am every year. It kills me to see our defense not put pressure on a punter on fourth down and have the ball sail over the kickers head and our entire defensive line is standing flat footed playing patty cake with the offensive line. We blew some golden opportunities last year on fourth down.

I saw the one that was 45 yards into a pretty stiff wind. Both of those guys looked pretty impressive. That WR is going to cause match up nightmares.

The point was when you added your lineman last year and put the pads on, you became a playoff team. After watching your 7-7 last year I didn't think your team would do that well. Maybe I didn't articulate that well, too many bud lights on the links. Congrats on winning the tourny yesterday, always better to win than lose.
