Looks like Gentry and Dayton will be playing for second place unless BH South can pull off a miracle. BH North has gone through the tough part of their schedule unscathed. Good job guys.

Should be a couple of good one's next week in 8A. Undefeated BH North vs Dayton and 4 - 1 Gentry vs 5 - 1 Crosby both teams hoping to stay in contention. Crosby and Gentry will be pulling for Dayton to win as they both have a shot at Dayton still. If BH North takes it, the rest of their schedule shouldn't be a problem unless BH South's familiarity with the offense and new in town rivalry gives them the means to pull off the upset.
I don't have enough scores to keep up with the other teams but Gentry's 8B and 7A are undefeated and the 7B team is 3 - 2.
Gentry has Dayton and Cedar Bayou left after the Crosby game.

And as far as Gentry goes, y'all beat us last year by 6. And everyone else we played lost to us by 3 or more scores, I'm not saying that when we play y'all Nov. 4, it won't be a good game, I'm just saying that y'all are going down by 14+.
I like your enthusiasm but we'll see what happens November 4th. It should be a good game. We have a bye this week so me and my boys may head over to Crosby to watch the BH North - Crosby matchup. That should a good game as well. Good luck to everyone tonight.

You can sure use it because it's gonna take it. Last year I Believe we played y'all early in the season and it was very close, if we had played y'all towards the end of season, it would have been a different outcome. That team came together last year as the season progressed, and this year they picked up where they left off.
Oh, and good luck to your high school tonight in the Tractor Supply Bowl.

What makes you think we didn't progress as well? I do agree that if we had played you in the second half the outcome would have been different, we wouid have won by a bigger margin. ;) Our pass defense was a little suspect earlier in the season. That's why ya'll were able to get back into the game. We had a descent lead at first but we gave up a few big pass plays later in the game. Later in the season the coaches made changes to our secondary and or pass defence improved. It all comes down to match ups. We don't match up well with BH North but we do match up good with Dayton and Crosby.

Qb for Daytons 7A team can sling it pretty dang good. We HJS had that game won but do to some poor Officiating and coaching we lost of a 40ish yard TD pass with 41 seconds left.
Dayton 7b also won 31-6 I think was the final score.
Haven't heard much about Dayton or Crosby's 7th grades. You've played both of them and us. Who do think takes district?
By the way, where is Crosby at?! Ya'll need to get in here and pull for your boys.

I can't wait to see those backs Oct. 28, I just hope they are ready to take some hits because honestly them Dayton kids are gonna put them helmets on them. Those boys love to hit and helmets roll. That big running back for highlands found out last Tuesday.

Ya'll have one more cup cake to beat before you finally get tested. Crosby gets their first test with BH North. We have a bye so I might just pack up the boys and head to Crosby to watch. I think I have a red T shirt somewhere (Sorry my BH friends).
I gotta say that I like the way the schedule played out with all the top teams battling at the end of the season. It kind of gives it a playoff atmosphere.

I knew this game was going to a tuff one because ya'll have some athletes, and speed. I thought that our offense might wear your defense down as the game went on with only 15 players. Good luck to ya'll, it was a battle...But the officiating is always questionable at the middle school level.. Tell your son good game, and nice TD catch.
Oh no, my identity's blown!!! Must be my resemblance to my avatar. lol. Thanks, I'll relay the mesage to him. Not sure which BH parent this is but good luck to ya'll too. Talking to him this morning, I didn't realize that all three starting defensive linemen were out for this game for various reasons. I knew one would be out, but all three? Talk about bad timing. But then again if we don't throw that pick six at the begining of the game then lose two on side kicks, this game may still have gone our way.
Anyone know how Crosby did?

BH north 8b lost to Gentry 23-13This was the game I worried about the most. We just don't match up well with your power running game. I believe we have the best athletes in the district but not enough hosses. That's why we lost to you guys last year but could handle Crosby and Dayton. So I'm hoping for a repeat of last year where you lose to Dayton and Crosby and we still at least win a district or co-district championship. :P
And I'm not even going to get started about the officiating, they didn't effect the outcome of the game, ya'll ran the ball down our throats, but wow.

Crosby 8th grade A won 19-7. I'll try to get the B team score from my son.
Thanks. I haven't seen anything yet for the BH South Cedar Bayou game and the Dayton Horace Mann game.
We have a big match up next week with Gentry taking on BH North. 8th grade in BH 7th grade at Baytown Sterling.That 8A game should be a battle.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Everyone can make arguments as to why they should have won a close game. Against BH North we had three starting linemen out who played both ways, that's three starting defensive linemen not suited up against a power running team. Sure enough they ran it down our throats. Also we started the game with two crucial turnovers a pick six and a lost onsides kick that spotted them a 14 point lead. We lost by 13. Change those two things and we may win but.......that's football. You have to play with the kids you got and turnovers happen, quartebacks miss passes. Bottom line BH North won, their boys earned it. I'm still hoping BH South pulls off the upset at the end of the season though. ;)
So, now we wait and see what happens next week. Mustangs vs Ponies. It's gonna be a true horse race. We'll see who has the best thouroughbreds in their stable. I forsee a lot of offense and some tough hitting defense on both sides. I hope for an exciting, injury free game. Good luck to all the boys.
