To me this was the saddest college football game in the State of Texas ever.

One thing that is helping Baylor is the fact that Hawthorne is a WR first. When he can get outside it is just like catching a screen pass.

The refs don't care what either side does anymore. Not calling anything on that scuffle between Locke and Coleman, told me that these refs will make football penalty calls, such as holding and offside, but everything else is fair game

I am a little surprised Stidham is not being held back trying to get into the locker room. He came back from a broken wrist in 3 weeks last season.

I thought it was may have been rough, but Texas players should have just let be and hit him a little late the next possession if they were that angry. It wasn't bad enough to warrant any reaction such as shoving a the Baylor WR/QB down right in front of the ref and then surrounding him because the Texas wasn't hurt. It's 17-0 and Baylor is using a WR, that already sad enough. I have been saying all season, that Baylor with their attitude on offense was going to get into a fight, and I think this was just the beginning. This game will probably not be one either will want to remember.

Porziginis is a difficult case calling him a big man. He just seems to be little Dirk, except he can dunk.

I never said they wouldn't, only that in order to reach 20-0 you must first win 17. Never look past a team even if that team is the Lakers.

They have reached 20-0. Next game is across the border. Of course hoping for a win, but Toronto is really good this year. Outside of the Clippers game in LA and the Utah game on Monday, this might be the toughest looking game on paper so far this season.

When you schedule tournaments since you were a sophomore in high school they eventually become easy. This was a whole lot easier than scheduling a middle school tournament where the team list changes the day before. The hardest part of this was transferring it to here.

Then that is the problem. Until they realize that they need a third venue noboby will come. If they are played the campus games afterschool, there would be enough teachers volunteering to help out do books and gate for one or two days to make it work. Concession stand would be an issue but then don't have one if they cannot get volunteers for that. Having the boys and girls tournament is a great idea and should be kept but the third venue needs to come and if they asked the teachers or other staff members to help they would make it happen.

Okay take the 4 games that are split Thursday and Friday and play them at 1 gym. Then there are only 3 venues. Just like they have now. I specifically did 4 gyms only in the afternoon after school so that more people might be willing to help. I understand YMBL volunteers, but if Beaumont ISD is setting up the schedule with the coaches, then they should be able to have more people help. 3A and 4A school districts run larger tournaments with more gyms.

This was in reference to the post I previously posted about the possibility of using 3 or 4 gyms and having a 16 team guys and girls tournament on the same weekend. I just used Central and Ozen either one could be replaced with West Brook. Another possibility on Thursday and Friday is to have just 2 games at Ozen, Central, Memorial and Westbrook giving each team a home game, because more than likely each of these 4 teams will be placed in separate pools. 2 games would allow teams more time to travel and attend school Thursday and Friday as well as more fans to watch their schools after work. In this format the top two teams in each pool will play five games and the bottom two teams will play 4 games. 1st place teams will get 3 games in the Montagne, 1 in the McDonald, 1 in the high school. 2nd place teams will get 1 game in the Montagne, 3 in the McDonald, and 1 in the high school. 3rd and 4th place games would get just 1 game in the Montagne, 1 in the McDonald, and 2 in the high school. Obviously there are a bunch of catches, but this was all I could do in 5 minutes and I think would make the most sense to have more teams and fans want to come to the tournament.

That was the ugliest football game I have ever seen. Trying to play spread in a monsoon.

I thought so, but it seemed odd that a showcase would not have the home team as the last game, but instead their rival.

Didn't we have this discussion last week that Tech and Arkansas aren't going to play each other anymore? The games are filled until at least 2018 and Bielema will be fired long before that. As for running up the score, this offseason should bring a new Tech team. We are looking for a pig farm to practice tackling. If you can tackle a pig you can tackle anything.

Yeah. Keep thinking that. Bielema opened his mouth and badmouthed Klff's dad and many other Texas coaches. That was payback and a chance to show Bielema how to play real football.

It could work if they had a 16 team girls tournament and a 16 team guys tournament. 4 pools of 4 teams with pool play over the first two days. Have 8 games each day in the Montagne and work out a way for every team to get at least one game during the pool play there. More coaches would come because it is a chance for their players to play in a D1 gym. The same can be done with McDonald. Use Ozen, Central or a combination for the other 8 games each day. Then on Saturday have 4 4 team brackets with the top 2 brackets being played at Montagne and McDonald. Gives the best teams 2 more games in a D1 gym. The whole tournament could use only 3 gyms on Thursday and Friday and then either 3 or 4 gyms on Saturday depending on how many teams would get to play 2 games.

What's worse is they will not even use Ozen for consolation games on the girls side. They play at the elementary school. There is no reason not to use the high schools especially since it is YMBL/BISD. Why should any of the 3 Beaumont schools be forced to play in it, when they are not playing challenging teams that they could play in Houston. If it does not go pool play or add at least 1 game next year, then Central and Ozen should just say no and play elsewhere. They have been in the finals the last two years, they will be in the finals this year plus they are in the same district. It waters down the district games and the rivalry when they are playing 3-4 times a year. There is no competition and 3 games is not enough anymore.

I know that Beaumont ISD schools have to play but why would anyone else in 5A and 6A agree to just a 3 game tournament? At least make it two groups and get 4 or 5 games. Three games should not be worth it for teams like Heights and Longview that are traveling 4 hours. The girls side had 17 teams and everyone is getting 4 games.
