I agree with most of what you said except the whole enrollment thing. I've always hated that argument especially since we've barely had enough kids to put us in 6a just about our whole existence. No one gave PAM any sympathy when they played North Shore every year and they have literally TWICE as many kids. You play with the hand you were dealt and that's what they've been doing. Should PAM have done better? Ofcourse! They can always improve but we have always been limited by our coaching.

That’s all I was saying. I expected PAM to be rag-dolling EVERYBODY in the District.  With the advantages that PAM has (bigger enrollment and quantity of talent) over the rest of the district, they should be talking about their shutout streak.... not complaining about refs costing them close games. 

I wonder what parent made the adjustments and sent them to the coaches.

I am just wondering why we would want someone that is unproven from another school when we have someone that is unproven from our own school. Either one of them could be the next greatest coach or a total flop. What scares me more is that why did only 10 people apply. Our facilities are bad and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Let's all get behind Monte because he has our kids best interest at heart.

PN-G fan...I don't know what Coach Monte Barrow did or did not do on the staff at NHS, but I can tell you from past W/L results -- and not from just the PN-G game each year -- that Coach Barrow put together some good offensive game plans.  Game plans approved by Larry Neumann.  That should be good enough for Coach Barrow to get his shot under the bright lights as head coach.  As for Delbert Spell, I'm guessing each August for the past 20+ years, Coach Neumann said, "Delbert, on defense, you know the pieces of our personnel puzzle, so go put the best pieces together and let me know when you are finished."  That seemed to work well for 20+ years.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I'm sure Monte will fill the oc with someone from the staff. Then he would only have to hire a position Coach. It amazes me how a couple people on here trash him. Do you even know his role under Neumann. He was responsible for way more than any of you think. He has been patient and deserves a levitate shot. I just hope the people on here trashing him don't have a kid on the team. Don't need any daddy poison going on. It would seem that in a community like Nederland that everyone would rally around the coach. But it would also seem we could get a bond passed. Anyway only time will tell if he was the right man for the job, but I feel like he was.

Every poster on here with a kid playing has been over the top in favor of Barrow, from what Ive read and the people Ive talked to.  I think you have the soldiers all in at this point, just a bunch of yappers from the stands talking.  The program is moving forward.

Great hire. Monte deserves this opportunity and will not miss a step in the transition. Hard to say but he might be better for the team and get more community support for all sports and academics.

People can talk all day long about this but bottom line is,if monte doesn't get it I see doom for this football program!!i see coaches and players leaving..

Can anyone name a one school town that the head football coach is not the Athletic Director in 5A?

If the AD isn't the head football coach then nederland football will be in trouble anyways..
