Well this ought to be a no brainer. Triple threat on offense graduated, 15 or so underclass men as starters and playing vital roles including freshman and soph RB's, 1 Soph WR and WR / QB Junior, 2 LB / S Junior, CB Soph, well balanced offense, bend but don't break Defense that has been lights out (but according to Austin Statemen is suspect, I suspect they hire idiots over there), no returning skill position SR starters on offense but very good leaders, not ranked in the state, heck maybe in the area, but yet have somehow defied the odds and sit perched atop the area one game away from the Holy Grail of Texas High School football. So, I ask two simple questions, why not Crosby coaches and do you have your cowbells ( sorry 02 only had one question but thought it would be a little more entertaining adding your second one). I know y'all hate on us humble Coogs a time or two and I know down deep some of you really do wish us good luck on the quest for a ring but can any of you think of a more deserving staff then the Crosby leaders. Man to be a fly on the wall in that first off season meeting would have been cool. Cause I can speculate what I believe was said is this: Well guys we lost 90 % of our offense and gave up a ton of points so how we gonna compete next year and to a man the response was probably well Coach will win with three things: a hardcore off season regimen, newfound leadership, and vision. A vision to instill in these young men that if you buy into the program and become a family any thing is possible. Now where's the dominoes pizza guy!! Ok I doubted the Cougs and their ability to win deep in this thing, I even talked about their wagon hoping the wheel fall off. Well damn to hell I am running behind the wagon, I believe now. Congrats to y'all but i'm still very much jealous lol.

The Crosby Cougar(12-1) will face the Hutto Hippos(11-2) at 2 pm Saturday in San Marcos at Texas State University for the region three title. The Cougars were co-district champs with King and Hutto finished third in their district behind Temple and Elgin, who Brenham beat in the area round. The winner of this one most likely gets perennial power Cedar Park in the semi-finals. Can Code Red be the first 4A/5A team from SETX since Dayton to win the region or will they finish a solid season 12-2?

Yeah, but they also picked Crosby as a dark horse to win state after losing what we lost and people thought that was idiotic. They are also the only one of the three polls that were high on Crosby during the season. I agree that all their information isn't totally accurate though.

After seeing both of these teams play games against the Wildcats, I believe that the Cougars will lilkely run roughshod over the Hippos in this contest. The Crosby squad is big, fast and very talented this year. They thumped the Wildcats a LOT worse than the Hippos were able to.

6A D1: Skyline, already beat Cedar Hill and Arlington Martin and is probably the most talented team in the state this year. After seeing DeSoto, who Cedar Hill beat handily in district play, hold Allen to 25 points I think Skyline would take it if they can even beat Trinity who has the best coach in the state IMO.

6A D2: Katy rolls over Carroll or Cedar Hill after a tight one with Manvel.

5A D1: Temple/George Ranch winner over Aledo who hasn't been as dominant as past years.

4A D1: Navasota, beats Stephenville in the title game and breaks Aledo's national scoring record in the process

4A D2: Gilmer, better coach and deeper talent than anyone left on their schedule.

Pretty good read now on who was right about what.

IMO Flannigan is probably a better coach than Faircloth. He was in the playoffs 7 straight years with several bi-district wins and a third round appearance before he got run after the loss to Vidor. BF has a 2-8 season to his name and is 16-16 the last three years. I do t think he would be doing any better of a job at Westbrook.
