Yeah that's kind of the point I was making. No pressure. I can only imagine the enormous amount of pressure he would've gotten at Allen after winning 3. I've heard very good things about him as a person and I'm glad he's happy with his decision. Despite what any of us think..he deserves to be doing what he wants, where he wants just like any hard working individual. And yeah I hear you on the..won't find anyone with any sense talking trash.. That's the problem though. I think the number of level headed, reasonable fans is extremely rare. Anywhere.

There are other differences than just that. Yes Allen get's solid moveins but so do several DFW schools. Not to beat a dead horse but having the kind of kids that come from a wealthy, stable environment makes a huge difference. I know there are exceptions but there is a large number of entire neighborhoods in the North Dallas area of several thousand square foot homes where the kids don't have to work, get private lessons, strength/speed training camps, both parents at home, then go to school where they have state of the art facilities, the best teachers/coaches that money can buy, and an endless amount ($) of community support. Anyone who thinks that doesn't play a role just doesn't know.

I personally don't think that money was the motivating factor. He could've been making $300K coaching tight ends or something at a school like UT. The payraise he got from Allen to BH wasn't really a huge amount compared to what he could've made. I guess we'll never know unless he personally says the reasons he did what he did.

I really thought that if Westerburg ever left Allen it would be for a college gig. He would've been a lock for at least a position coach at a big time school and probably even would've had a really good shot at an FCS head job. When he left and came to BH I was truly floored. But I started thinking about the amount of pressure he probably had on him to continue winning at that level in Allen. It's really not feasible with the vast amount of talent in the metroplex. Every year in that region several of the rounds are potential state champ type games. He had just graduated Kyler Murray who is...let's face it.. a true Heisman caliber quarterback and was a man among boys in any level of high school. When the BH job presented itself as an option I'm sure he thought it would be a good place to build a little success in a school that's not used to it. Sure people were expecting a miracle but he'll never have the pressure to win at BH like I'm sure he did at Allen. Factor in the money he's making (including family) and it makes more sense to me now than it did at first.

That’s what Hardin did. Now you guys are about to play a game against a group of kids that at least have some confidence and know what it feels like to win. That’s huge in the mind of a teenage athlete.

Never said they'd be scared to try. Just like I'm sure neither Allen or Plano would be scared to play UT. Or UT wouldn't be afraid to play the Texans. Would all be a similar result, though. To the topic at hand. If size didn't matter then why are schools all of the sudden successful if they drop in class..or all of the sudden average if they go up in class. Size absolutely matters. It's not the only thing though. For instance.. Baytown could combine all of their schools and I doubt they'd be on the same level as Allen. There are other factors especially when talking about North Dallas schools.

Since we're speculating and will never know.. I am willing to bet you 10,000,000 dollars that Newton would get absolutely embarrassed and possibly have several kids hurt if they played one of these schools.

Um..seriously?

I would venture to say that just about ANY team could be 0-5 or 5-0 depending on their schedule. It's all relative and records don't necessarily reflect how good/bad a team is. No offense but Hardin could be used as an example of this very thing. Change of schedule could change everything.

Nobody is denying that KV had some impressive teams in the last 18 years.. but I think this is in regards to this year's team. I personally don't believe you guys are the worst team in SETX by any stretch. As long as there are Colmesneils, Sabine Passes, and Burkevilles of the world you guys never have to worry about that. In a relative sense, though... you guys are 0-5 and I don't think there are too many SETX teams left that haven't won a game. So there's that..

A pretty big difference was when UIL split 4A into divisions. Before that WOS hadn’t even gotten out of the region in quite some time. Not to take away from their accomplishments but before 4A had a D2 it was a different story.

My my my...how the tides have changed. Who is it that always argues that talent is more important than coaching? Hmm.. was that me? I can’t remember. What I do remember is that WOS fans were saying a year or two ago that Coach T could go anywhere and win. Relax WOS fans.. as in most cases.. it’s NOT THE COACHES. I think I’m enjoying these comments more than I should be.

Hardin doesn't have good teams very often. When they do have decent groups they seem to be at the mercy of where UIL places that cutoff number.

In all seriousness.. probably buying sushi at HEB would be better than most in my opinion. Unless you're a fan of the usual fast food Chinese food court type experience. Egg rolls, breaded chicken/shrimp in various different sauces and spices, fried rice... all of that seems cookie cutter to me as far as Chinese food. Other than that I'm thinking just find a Hibachi grill.

I stand corrected. It was the previous year that the district went 0-4. Last year none of the distrct won a 2nd round game. Maybe that's what I was thinking of. Still kind of the same point.. 2016 none made it to 2nd round and 2017 none made it past 2nd round. I don't know about you but I judge the stregnth of a district based on how it does against other districts. So I guess technically in 2016 Hardin was in maybe the weakest district in the state..maybe. Last year they were in the 2nd weakest district but the weakest district was the district they are in now... plus or minus a team or so. Yes I know that a lot changes from year to year..

He didn’t call a team toothless, no fight, no talent dogs. Toothless dog fight is COMPAREing a game to a fight between 2 dogs with nothing to fight with.

Being 3-0 doesn’t mean you’re not bad. I’ll guarantee you that it could’ve just as easily been 0-3 with a difference of preseason scheduling. Coach Haynes did a good job putting together a schedule conducive to winning. I’m also pretty sure that Hardin was in a district last year that didn’t win a single playoff game. I need to double check but I think I’m remembering that correctly. So that’s not a good argument for you to make.
-
First of all.. I wasn't talking/referring to/about you. I was talking about the guy that accused another guy of "trolling 16-18 year old kids" for simply referring to this game as a toothless dog fight. However, if you must know, you're wrong. Being 3-0 doesn't make you a good team. As of right now you guys haven't beaten a single team that has won a game. Not one. That may not change after this week. It does matter how good/bad the competition is. Fact is..Hardin MIGHT finish 4th or 5th in a district that never gets past round 3. I'm sorry to say but that doesn't equal good team. I have no doubt that the kids play hard and that they are suprising some people. But the suprise went from "they'll finish 2nd to last" to "they will likely get 5th..maybe even 4th". Don't take it personal. They're exceeding the pre-season expectations but still not considered a good team.

It is possible to say that a team is bad but not be pointing out or talking about any individual players. This PC crap is infecting everything.
