bleedblue reacted to BH96 in Spring Football
Just a update for BH. I have attended almost all of the practices for BH since I have a son playing. These coaches have brought a different level of of excitement and a up tempo style practice and the kids have bought in 100%. No one is standing around picking their nose or scratching their butts everyone is envolved. BH has taken a different turn in the way they are practicing and it shows. One thing for sure is that a single kid on the field will play both ways. We are at least 2 deep at every position on both sides of the ball. From our inter squad scrimmages our 1st team D is a freaking beast. Our offense is pretty good as well. Our Seniors are being leaders and the sophomores are stepping up and turning heads.

If you build it, they will come.
We can't just let everything rust and deteriorate. Stallworth was once the premiere facility in East Texas. We need to at least throw some paint on it and fix the parking lots.

bleedblue reacted to Armchair Quarterback in What do y'all think of Deweyville's varsity catcher?
""""i'm not sure why you chose to couple the two to make an invalid point, but so be it. i'm giving you advice about if you want to play at the next level, that is assuming you have the skills to do so, then i'd get into a program that's going to win and be seen by those who can help you reach your goals. Deweyville wont provide that for you in sports.""""
I guess you were talking about travel ball in the above quote....never mentioned it one time!!!
you only mentioned Deweyville not providing that. chief

RayJr....
I could not disagree more with your comment about playing "softball" at the next level and a H.S. helping you to accomplish that. H.S. softball helps very little if not any at all. It is about exposure to Colleges OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL BALL!!! for softball. Other sports like football I guess H.S. Sports helps to get to the next level but softball.....you could not be more wrong. Pick a H.S. the player enjoys and hope for a great season to go a few rounds deep in playoffs....then pick a select organization to get what you want if that is to play College Softball

bleedblue reacted to team first in The Ozen Teacher FIRED
The biggest question is did the student get his azz beat when he got home, for acting a fool in class. He laughed cause he was being the class clown.
Teacher still should have never touched him.

It will definitely be different. My son has been telling me how they call plays, audibles, reading defense on routes, etc. Don't know how good we'll be, but have to be a scholar to learn the plays. Lol

Simply bringing a new attitude, and all the excitement will do a lot to push change.

BH will be doing Spring football to implement the new offense and defense. According to my son May 2nd. I don't know who we scrimmage though. Football field just added a very large scoreboard and sound system. Anyone else doing Spring football?

Are we seriously blaming Nick Saban??? If the kid is in the dog house, then he needs to stop doing the things that are getting him there! Kid has an unbelievable opportunity and is throwing it away because he can't follow rules. Changing schools will not fix that problem. Grow up, mature and work your butt off on the field and off. If you are doing those things and it's not working out, sure, transfer. But don't bring your bad habits to another school and then blame it on that coach too.

Probably one of the most intense high school athletic contests I have ever watched!!!! Back and forth both ways, all five games close. Game five tied up at 6 all and GRHS scores next five points, pretty much sealed the deal. Congrats to the Eagles, great season making it to the quarter finals.

Saw this on Facebook (great job HJ, maybe other programs can help?):
The Hardin Jefferson Athletic Booster Club executive board has voted unanimously to make a monetary donation to the Deweyville Athletic Department to aide Coach/AD Lance Dale assist his kids with meals, water, or other items he deems appropriate.
I can say BY FAR this is the best money we have spent in the history of our club.
If you can help please contact Coach Jamie Bush Hansen, Coach Megan Rowe, or Coach Jared Sloan please see below post on what is needed and what you can do to help.

Yep. Not sure how 21-5A getting 10 teams in all sports except football is fair. Why create an 8 & 10 team district? Why not two 9 team districts?
