If I recall correctly (and I assuredly do), I predicted 3 or less district losses in 5 years. And that both McCain and Adams would be studs as freshmen. Silly me!

Man are they ever. I knew Allen would be a stud. One of the top, if not THE top, bigs in the country in his class. Banks is solid and will give us good minutes in the rotation with Allen and Cleare. But I did not see Young contributing so much, so early. Love the kid and he's a gamer but thought he would play sparingly. BUT, when your dad was Phi Slamma Jamma and your brother is in the NBA, I don't know why I'm surprised.

We have a great chance of getting Coleman. It will be between us and Duke but word is he is partial to Shaka. We're not going to land Bamba. But to make his official visit list speaks volumes. I remember a couple of years ago being ridiculed for predicting how good Silsbee was going to be last year and this based on a couple of 8th graders. I won't mention names (*cough* Nash *cough*) but was told that you can't predict how well a player would do in high school based on how they did in junior high. To an extent, that is true. But talent is talent. Or maybe I got lucky that they actually both were two of the better players on a State Championship team as Freshmen..

Richard (a junior) is their only returning player from last year's team (but he was a starter and a good one). The rest of their roster was all seniors. However, that school is full of gym rats (kids that live in the gym, not the Central variety) and, as we know, are superbly coached. I expect they will be plenty good, but not the team they were the last 2 years obviously. I will get a look at them in person next week.

Exactly about the games and New Year's Eve. And about same problem THIS year.
