  1. Without question. I think you will see a Ben Simmons type transition to the NBA as well. Bagley had been with the 2018 class throughout high school, until he decided to reclassify “up” this past year. Granted, he is now with his correct age group but only played 3 years of HS ball. But Bagley was in effect a “curve buster.” For instance, he grades at .9999 on 247 sports. The problem is, relatively speaking, with Bagley at that benchmark, the second best player in the 2018 class would need to be in the 80s by comparison. At the EYBL Peach Jam in July, scouts were saying that even with many of the top incoming HS Seniors in the country there, there was no one even close. The last HS player who graded “off the charts”? LeBron. I hadn’t seen Bagley live since he was a skilled 6-8 or 6-9 8th grader. I had seen plenty of highlights but not in a full game setting. After watching a few of Duke’s games thus far this season, I can definitely see the hype is real. Can you imagine what a 4th year Bagley would look like in college?
  2. Yeah, no idea what’s going on with them, they’ve looked terrible. Obviously, there is some turmoil going on there with recent recruiting allegations. But that team is stacked and has probably the 3rd overall pick in next year’s draft in Ayton (behind Bagley and Porter).
  3. Very impressive road win last night. The SEC is stronger this year, and early it looks like A&M and Florida will lead the way. While USC & WVU are the most “notable” early wins, don’t underestimate the Penn St. win. The Nittany Lions have a VERY strong team this year.
  4. I will say this about my Horns. They have proven they aren’t skeered of anyone and have no quit to them. Direct reflection of their coach (who some basketball challenged posters on this board have questioned since his hire in Austin.
  5. Exactly. After A&M scrimmaged Gonzaga in Colorado, the reports were the Zags were going to be very, very good again. After seeing the instant classic vs Florida the other night, those reports seemed to be very accurate. As I type this, Horns tie it up on a great steal by Osetkowski and shot by Jones. Huh? I thought AAW was giving credit to both the Zags and the Horns with his posts.
  6. You and Bert give him way too much credit with his asinine tweets. He has as much control of that mouth of his (figuratively, his little fingers literally) when he hits twitter as I do of mine at the Golden Nugget buffet
  7. Apparently even the ones of the faux NY variety are heroic. Kudos to these guys for helping one of NY’s finest in a desperate situation. [Hidden Content]
  8. Wasn’t familiar with him - funny stuff.
  9. You know what they say about ass-u-me. However, I made the same assumption. I was wrong too. The term has been around awhile it seems. It just happens to be one that resonates in today’s political climate.
  10. You managed to use Trump and Brilliant in the same sentence - you could get your own show! If lucky, you might win back to back Emmies too! But then you engage in Whataboutism - which is why I posted the video to begin with. I love that terminology albeit a terrible debate tactic that is merely an attempt at escapism....
  11. Bingo. That team was one of the all time greats. HISD football now is laughable at best. But as someone who prefers the round ball, I am appreciative of their product on the hard court.
  12. One could effectively argue that anyone doing an impression of our President must have a firm grasp on the impersonation of a child. And I agree. Jon Oliver is one of the funniest people on television today. I find him much more entertaining than the Colberts of the world. Although Fox and Friends and other shows certainly give him a run for his money, even if the humor is unintended unlike his show.
  13. One of the favorite and most used tactics on this board. And now I understand why - it comes from the top! [Hidden Content]
  14. Ahhh, see the distinction. Misread the statement the first time around.
  15. If you went to a Yates game and didn’t hear complaining about officiating, you were wearing the best darn ear plugs on the market!!
  16. “Rivalry” game relegated to a sports package network. Like a couple channels removed from an FS1?? Sad state of affairs from a once great conference...
  17. There are idiots in every town in America. Orange, like many, has clear territorial divides and some of all ethnicities prefer it that way. I have never shied away from any segment of town. I feel just as comfortable in the “Navy Addition” as where I live in the unincorporated area of Orange. I grew up in East Texas in a town with no diversity, and I much prefer it here. I have represented people from all parts of Orange and know I have done it well. I have friends in the areas of Orange that some white folks wouldn’t step foot after dark. But that is fear and ignorance and not taking the time to know and understand their neighbors. Maybe it is because of the ties I have made in my profession, but I know many of those folks to be as good and loyal to me as any of the folks in my actual neighborhood, more so probably if truth be told. There were plenty of truths in the article, but much like Buzz Bissinger as referenced by WOSgrad, this author definitely had an agenda. I love the town I have come to call home and hope to see a recovery, both from recent disaster and from a struggling economy. Because what I have found beyond what the author pointed out, is a community that is resilient, neighborly, and more often than not willing to lend a helping hand. And what should have been abundantly clear to the author is the fact that despite the subject of his article spends his seasons in one of the most aesthetically pleasing spots in all of this country, when he has a choice of where to lay his head (i.e., the offseason), it is right back in Orange, Texas. I wonder why?
  18. Doesn’t really shock me. Tompkins is one of those teams that is loaded but has trouble putting it together at times. But they did win the McDonald’s tournament. But when you have starters that have signed with OU, GA Tech, and others that will go D1, they should be more so consistent.
  19. I really thought bama would lose. QB play is so bad in the SEC that Auburn can’t beat a lot of teams that haven’t seen anyone as good as Stidham.
  20. Haven’t seen anything yet. Been looking on Doug Jones’ Twitter. Can’t imagine he’s not there.
  21. This year they have more than usual missing. Probably 4 that will regularly rotate once football guys get there. 7 or 8 from football. They just can’t compete with a full team at a fast pace. Agree on memorial. #2 is a transfer that can really play. And the sophomore big is a beast.
  22. Silsbee would be a 20 pt favorite over Atascocita (at least) with full squads. And Atascocita has more than 4 of their regular players playing right now, don’t tell me they don’t. They lost to Lamar (who is good) who lost pretty convincingly to Memorial. Memorial and full Silsbee squads are pretty close.
  23. Trump also admitted it- before the election. On camera. But i got it, locker room talk.
  24. To answer your question from the locked thread (since you didn’t apparently read the other posts before asking), Colt McCoy is in his 8th year in the League making $3 Millie a year. VY is under contract with ESPN. What “basket cases.” Lmao
  25. You know that was tongue in cheek Nash. The voting guidelines we have now are probably as close to fair as you can get.
