  1. Leaving Thursday night. Going to be with a mixed group of Longhorns/Tigers. Hoping for a Longhorn win a good time to be had by all.
  2. Mike Leach is the best
  3. Alabama, Georgia and LSU should all be pretty good. The other 11 teams look to be mediocre at best. So what’s different than most every other year in recent memory?
  4. Also watching all his school records fall by that Smith kid.
  5. 😂😂😂
  6. And then Overshown just becomes a hero for some in an otherwise irrelevant series.
  7. Herman emptying the bench and calling off the dogs is opening up the dreaded back door cover.
  8. That was a pretty terrible call. Loving Ossai though.
  9. Very happy to see Duvernay putting in the work. Expect to see more out of Big Game Collin next week.
  10. La Tech has be upset at their ground game though. 1.5 yds a carry on 16 attempts.
  11. Yeah announcers said it was 7. It was about 4 where they spotted him going out of bounds. But would have been no gain without a broken tackle. Also did a good job picking up the blitz on his first snap.
  12. Whittington looked pretty good too but apparently he aggravated an injury.
  13. First Shug sighting. First Shug carry goes for 7.
  14. I think Ingram has looked solid. 7 rushes for 52 yards is pretty good.
  15. Easy PI call. Receiver still should have made the play.
  16. Actually a good opener for the young corners. Skip Holtz loves to throw the ball and La Tech’s QB isn’t bad.
  17. Lot of weapons for Sam. Hello Brennan Eagles! Gatorade HS Player of the Year, true freshman Jake Smith is looking like he’s going to be a heckuva slot receiver too.
  18. Big 12 looks gangbusters in wins over tough opponents such as Northern Iowa, Indiana State and the Dukes of James Madison.
  19. Saban: “I only said these guys were suspended if we weren’t struggling with a basketball school...”
  20. I noticed that too. And Allen has long been a “transfer Mecca” for football. And if we’re honest, they are only picking up where the Odessa Permian teams of the 80s and 90s left off. Sure those teams were tough, but if you think all that talent was homegrown among the tumbleweed... During the hay day of Big Oil, many a lucrative job existed in West Texas for parents of talented gridiron stars. And all of that makes the recent titles for Silsbee and Memorial even more an accomplishment. Because as someone said earlier, each might occasionally get a transfer, but nothing compared to the “big city” schools they compete with deep in the playoffs.
  21. You guys are going to have to learn that banging your head against the wall is more productive than trying to carry a logical discussion with some posters on this site. Herman’s offense is absolutely perfect for Roschon which is why he was the first offer and commit in his class. He was recruited as a QB, not a RB, WR or DB. Sitting at 3rd on the depth chart as a true freshman at a school that recruits like Texas is nothing to sneeze at. And like others have said, if Sam were injured, I’m sure he would get his reps to compete. As far as “burning the redshirt,” don’t forget the new rule that allows for a player to play up to 4 games and still qualify for a RS.
  22. We get a transfer in this area and battle lines are drawn. In Dallas, this has been going on for a while. Houston may be deciding to go the “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” route because they have done a pretty poor job of beating them. In the end, these decisions are left up to each individual district and UiL doesn’t get involved unless some type of appeal or waiver is filed.
  23. Agreed. I’ve seen all three, the two from last season more than the transfer (although the transfer is certainly good). The only one I would say is clearly better is the Jones kid. I favor Bush over the other returner and haven’t seen enough of the transfer to say one way or the other. And at the HS level, Bush is obviously capable of outplaying any one of them on a given night. The real killer is that depth for silsbee. You’re talking 3 guards “ranked” in the top 10 of the greater Houston area. Along with two really big, talented big men. And a ton of depth beyond that. Yates may end up being the best team in the Houston area. And that’s including some schools who will be among the better teams in the state at the two higher classifications.
