  1. First if ball is touched by team A which is kicking team before it goes ten yards it's not a penalty. Illegal touching is treated the same as downing a punt .At worst team B receiving team will get the ball there. There's kick catch interfere on kickoffs same as punts. They still have protection on onside kicks that if immediately kicked in the ground and take the big hop. But if it dribbles on ground couple of times before it takes the hop all bets are off.

If he is tackled, that assumes he is trying to return the ball. To get the touchback, he would have had to gain possession of the ball and kneel down to signify he is purposely giving up the ability to return the ball. If he's able to be tackled, then he was still trying to advance the football.

He can run around all he wants until the ball breaks the plane on the endzone it's a touchback. The rule is in place especially in turf fields where the ball can keep bouncing and rolling to not penalize the returner on mishandling a play. You'd be giving the kicking team a significant advantage.

Question in Texas high school football on a kickoff the receiving team  touches the ball and it goes into the end zone the returner picks it up but never makes it back out of the end zone before he is tackled what is the call

If he establishes possession then loses it which is by definition fumble yes. But if he touches it bobbles anything that didn't secure it that is a muff. And that is a touchback same in college football. Just the same kicking team can only advance a fumble on kicks not muffs

  4. The statement was "lackluster recruiting" not what the program did or made with the recruits - In fact all recruiting classes should be viewed more about how they helped the program on the field rather than how good a group they were when recruited. But ALL teams lose players dude - happens.

And as I have stated before and you again proved my point - Not many if any Aggie's will argue the fact that Texas has the history and during the 04-09 years did in fact dominate the state in most aspects - but as always Texas fans either quote the 04-09 seasons are the older history which is fact is impressive. But they completely ignore the late 1980's and 1990's were Texas A&M was the better program and the last 4 - 5 years were Texas A&M is the better overall program. How long will that be time will tell - but I believe it will be longer than most Texas fans believe.

But as always both Texas and A&M need to get better to claim we rule the State of Texas as Baylor and TCU have a say in that as well.

Thank god for those years or Baylor would have a better record against Texas than the ags would.
  5. Keep in ind half those classes were kicked off last yr lol. You put Kyle Allen on Texas they go at 10-2 byu and tcu were games that they just got handled. If you get a qb you get to nine wins at least see aggies last couple years. You get the def to go with it you compete for titles. See Texas 04-09 .
  6. Extensions. And the last guy we hired has as many NCs as your university in its history ;)

Well hold on during renovations they put up a couple more titles and big 12 titles on the wall at new stadium. What got Mack brown fired was garret Gilbert he sold out on him and then had only at best a B- qb to follow up.
