I was told 3rd base...then Spell protested to the home plate ump who changed it to fair...then the crew got together and ruled it foul. Hate to see a game decided by officials.
If the original call was foul. You gotta go with foul.

Just because he steps out the box doesn't mean batter caused balk. Be about the same as a batter putting a hand up to call time and not granted.

What makes it very "questionable" is that it has happened 3 times, this game.
Is he saying batter didn't attempt to get out the way?

So moral of the story thank god for officials cuz then who could you blame 10 runs ,errors, baserunning mistakes, strikes swinging, groundouts, flyouts, missed signs, and most importantly all the hits by the other team on.

so wonder what's gonna happen for shoving the umpire?

Or... just spitballing a call was missed. But there's always the fact that blue was tearing it up at the plate driving in runs left and right.

We had a situation come up in yesterdays Silsbee Bridge City game 2 that I thought I would ask the expert.
It was the top of the 4th and a line drive was hit down 1st base line, the first base umpire immediately threw up his hands, as you do to call a foul ball. Then he immediately started pointing fair. This play resulted in a triple. As you can imagine, the BC coach went out and had discussions with the umpires. The umpires came together to have a discussion, where I was told that the 1st base umpire admitted he threw his hands up first. The result was not was over turned and the triple stood.
In all of the years that I have been around the game, when an umpire puts his hands up, he is calling foul ball, and the ball is dead, regardless of whether it really was or not. Is this the case? If so, shouldn't the home plate umpire have over turned the call and made the hit a foul ball especially with an umpire admitting to the call?
Did anybody stop? If they didn't it's no different then pointing wromg direction then pointing the right way. Play on.

If you leave the dugout or your defensive position to go into a technically it's grounds for ejection. But usually needs an actual fight. Takes more talent to keep people in the game than to dump em.

Technically half can't end on accepted penalty but time is never put back to prevent no more than one play unless another penalty happens.

Wait they put a second back on the clock after a defensive penalty as time expired ?

If the officials are from the Beaumont Chapter, automatically suspect anything they say.
As somebody who has officiated in multiple chapters there's good officials and bad officials in every chapter. Lumberton bashed some Houston guys from last week pretty well. Difference is lot of chapters have more guys enter the chapter to choose from. Feel free to join we could use more guys wanting to put the best product they can on the field.

No scrimmage kicks and passes treated differently. If the ball were to get partially blocked but have enough to go past the Scrimmage line and bounce backwards and hit somebody behind the line then it could spotted there. It has to clear the line of scrimmage to qualify.
-
Yes because the ball never crossed the line of scrimmage to qualify it as a punt.
-
Well it was Houston guys so don't know any of them to ask. But like all professions you have good, the bad, and the ugly. Can't imagine Babin was thrilled either.

I have a question for the zebras. How can you get away with waving off 5+ blatant penalty's against the home team and still live with your self? And twice more than one flag was throne for the same penalty's.
Where'd that happen?

How long does it take for an official to spot the ball?
Every time we wanted to go nascar on Central they took their sweet time, 3 times it happened with no substitutions made by us, just asking for clarification.
Well the Houston crew y'all had should've had 7 guys so they should've been quicker. depends on the speed of the officials but also if ball goes out and the teams ball boys aren't paying attention or slow getting a new one in can hinder.

Ya nobody wants to ump your games. Ironically a dude who retired because of people in Orange County came out as a favor to do it. In 5 years every umpire left will go do a game where he doesn’t have to deal with the stupidity every pitch. Everything about Orange County leading with bc is miserable and every ump
hates.
