I spent the last dollar I will EVER spend on Campbell property two years ago when they came to my lease that had been leased by our family since 1980 and told us we had to relocate stands that had been in place for 10+ years because they were on main roadways. These stands were on OLD logging roads that could not be accessed by car or truck, 4wheeler only trails.  They then proceeded to tell us that we owed them money for missing pines where our food plots were.  These food plots were in the same places they were when Temple owned the land and this property had not been "pine" harvested since Campbell took over.  They said we could not plow or disc any part of their property (even food plots) and ONLY the main road ditches could be mowed, you were not allowed to mow shooting lanes.

Since then I was told by a TPWD employee that Campbell met with them and told them that within the next couple years they would begin auctioning or making available all Campbell land for lease (including existing leases) each year.  If someone out bid you for your existing lease you would be given the oppurtunity to match the bid or vacate the property.  The TPWD employee went on to tell me that Campbell said they were going to place their OWN trail cameras on each lease (in a locked box) and post those pictures on the website where people view the property for bid. 

I understand that the property belongs to them and they can do whatever they like with it, but those folks are "money mad" and dont care that 3 or 4 generations of families have poured blood, sweat, tears, and bundles of money into caring for THEIR property, they are simply just looking for more money.  THis is why I choose to not share MY money with them anymore.

The draw back for this for me personally is that most property available for lease in East Texas/Western LA is owned by Campbell and since leaving my lease two years ago I have not found another but fortunately for me we have several hundred acres that is owned by my family that I hunt.

I agree. I see just about all of the coaches in the local Brookshires where I work and they are doing the absolute best they can with the personnel they have. Isn't 3-7 an DRASTIC improvement over 0-10? Just saying give the man a chance. A coaching carousel does no one any good. Stability is a key element to any program.....

I would absolutely expect to be silent during another religions time of worship if I were to put myself at an event that I knew would be attended by a majority from another religion.  I would do so out of respect and I honestly believe that most from other religions would feel the same.  I really dont believe that all of this is coming from religious people, I think most of the stink is being raised by those of no religion, the absolute minority that has very little respect for anything except their own beliefs.

Vidor and many others obviously disagree with the SCOTUS ruling, in America we are called to have courage to do what we think is right, if there are consequences, so be it. Maybe you can drum up a good rally and get the young lady thrown in jail. America was.not founded or made great by people who hid or cowered from laws they felt oppressive or that they disagreed with

I can't speak for the rest of the Pirate faithful, but I really appreciated the applause after the young lady who led the invocation ended it with "in Jesus name." I try not to be political on the board but I do believe the vast majorityof Texas high school football fans are made to bow to the wishes of the very few.

Dang guys, y'all are hard on those HD boys.  I know that HD55 has brought alot of that on himself but the other HD guys usually are not as boastful and do show respect to the other teams.  Let'em breathe a little bit!

It's really going to be interesting to see how this plays out.  My gut feeling is that Slick will not only come out unscathed but will end up being portrayed and seen as the victim while giving him a platform to push the "I stand for what is right" diatribe thus propelling his popularity with voters.  I am not a Perry fan but I do believe that this indictment was politically driven and done so by the same hounds that exposed Palin and Christie and under the circumstances may end up backfiring! 

West Sabine scrimmaged Warren this past Friday.  WS's varsity scored 9 to Warrens 0.

WOW!  I think they have West Sabine a little low in the poll, but we will see.  Also looking for WOS and Newton to prove them wrong as I think both should be a little higher!

This team is the opposite of the Texans, if the Cowboys are successful this season it will be on the heels of the offense.  They are going to have to score high every game.  The defense will give up a lot of points with all the missing pieces!

I agree with flash, but really I think we should go 9-1 with the only loss being to Elysian Fields and who knows we may be able to give them a game.  We will have a really good WR corp and a very good QB but I really think everyone is overlooking our RB's.  Kirkland Wilson is a really good RB that came on strong late in the season last year.  I think he was just then fully recovering from ACL surgery.  Kirkland is quick and a run it right at you RB and he is VERY strong.  He will be complemented well with RB Ty Fore, Ty is not normally gonna burn you for a long run but he is extremely physical and wants to run folks over, he's good for 3-5 almost every time.  We have some young kids coming up that will really help and we do have some linemen that got quality playing time last year filling in for injured players.  I honestly believe that WS will be as good as last years team.

Hey. We got a strong crop of recievers coming up so I look for us to pass it more this year. I think we should be 8-2 or 9-1. Havin to replace 80% of the o-line though... We are blessed in district 10 to have two of the most dynamic, gifted QB's in the state in 2A in Reshod Williams at WS and JaMikel Roberts at San Augustine, IMO.
