Fort Bend Marshall 27 Friendswood 23. A fake Punt turned it around for Marshall in the third Quarter( I Think third Quarter.)Johnson was erratic throwing the ball the 1st half but was on all cylinders the 2nd half. Friendswood had a good game plan to run the ball but it seemed the offensive line tired in the second half.Friendswood ran a quick play attack and caught Fort Bend off Guard. Johnson is a HuGE QB and has some nifty small receivers ( Ferguson ) was one.On a bad note Fort bend lost a receiver who was take by ambulance. Friendswood lost their QB ( Butler ) around the start of the 4th quarter.Had a terrible limp, don't know extent of injury.Friendswood always seem to come to play hard.Marshall 's speed and Johnson arm was too much

A very unemotional performance by the Cougars.More emotion on the Lee side from their Coaches when time after time Crosby secondary was beat by the same play over and over again and their defense stumped any momentum by the Cougars offense..Anytime defensive players are talking to each other or arguing with each other, confusion breeds defeat. Hats off to the Lee coaching staff, they had their kids ready to play and took advantage of a porous Crosby secondary whenever they needed to.Those mistakes are not hard to remedy.But is this coaching staff capable of turning that around.If not, another long season for this Cougar team and a great fan base that was there and left looking bewildered. On a bright note the Crosby freshman team has some really bright spots, some nice overall size and 2 maybe 3 deep at the running back position.Will a Willis coaching staff bring this bunch along,I personally have my doubts. On the JV side, if they can correct getting the snap out of the dirt, the QB can throw a nice ball.Some nice hitting on the defensive side.Lee had the biggest kid on the field at qb and hurt Crosby's defense with the run.

That change would be an injustice to the Senior players on this team.I watched the Lamar scrimmages and certain QB could barely field the snaps cleanly.If done, put the frosh QB in there and build for the NEXT coach if there is a team by then.

If alignment looks bad for Crosby,there could be a mass exodus at Crosby.Numbers may go way down.Thank you Miss Superintendent.

Since the scrimmages and non district games are the choosing of the previous head coach all we can do is debate what we think is better or worse.And since injuries play such a huge part of a teams success,we hope our depth can counter the loss of time the kids must spend in the trainers room. I think with the additions of transfers this year,Crosby will be OK in this department. I had thought before reading about the loss of the Langley twins that the Cougars would beat King because of the lack of returnees at King.Their ability to reload put a damper on that.The QB,if a sophomore, will be a good QB in the future.I received an emergency call and had to leave the game,so the second half I can't comment on.I was impressed with the heavy hits by Crosby players.The crowd acknowledge the good ones. Hope the 2 players mentioned with injuries make a quick return .Broken Collarbone will take weeks to recover so carry on Cougars.I'll be there to cheer you on at Hall stadium next week.

If the C.E. King QB is a sophomore,Crosby does not need to have the Panthers on next years Schedule.He's a good one.Can't be a 5A team and play a 6A team with 3 of your better players not playing.Just Sayin'

Any news on the BH vs Shadow Creek scrimmage ?

The team played a 6A team that went 2 deep into the playoffs last year.Lamar returns 33 this year with 8 returners on offense and 6 on defense.Crosby returns 17 this year with 5 returners on offense and 4 on defense.With these numbers the scrimmage was an OK showing for Crosby.More impressed with the defense showing, which is normal with a change of coaching and only 4 returnees.Transfers Evans and Birks had a nice start to the Cougar defense.Offense is always behind the defense, it will take a little time to adjust to the new scheme.They will probably not go up against a better Defensive line as they faced last night until the playoffs. The pieces are there, we'll see if the coaching staff can mold the team into a playoff bound team.I think they will. On to C.E.King next week, another 6A team with playoff experience.

So sad to loose this young men ! Prayers sent !
