This is year two. Last year there were 60 total kids in high school football, this year over 120.
Is the expectation that the program turns around overnight?
It will be back down to 60 once kids give up on this program. Can’t win 1 game in 2 years and expect the basketball & baseball kids to keep showing up. Sure he’s done a good job at growing the numbers, but what does that matter if you can’t win games?

Let’s go! Hand up, I might have been wrong about the new coach.

I agree i thought they would have won this one.
HJ needs to stop making these hero hires and find a proven winner. 1-14 is unacceptable at any level. #KeepChoppinWood

Might be time for a major change at HJ… if you get what I’m saying.

Lol whatever offense HJ is running isn’t working.

Congrats to Dubois on his first win as HC at Vidor

Slot-T would’ve done better than 0 points.

I’m sure this has been talked about, but I’m not going back and reading 14 pages. Martín Maldonado is the worst hitter in franchise history. If not of all time in the MLB. This guy doesn’t need to see the field ever.
dude brings no tangible skills to the table. He’s fat, slow, can’t hit, arm strength is average at best.
I get the pitchers say they like him behind the plate, but other than game planning what does this fat boy bring to the table? Literally nothing.

What offense is HJ running? They go away from the slot-t? If so, big mistake.

Let’s be honest, can you actually blame any of these coaches? They are given the opportunity to come coach D1 ball in Texas after coming from a New York or San Diego.
The blame for this programs failure is solely on the president and AD’s. These nerds don’t know a darn thing about Texas football. They play daddy ball with their buddies from Marshall and middle Tennessee.
If Lamar wants to get serious about athletics they need to get these yankee clowns out and put someone in that know Texas athletics.
Fire everyone.

Can’t say I’m surprised by this outcome.

Lamar’s basketball program is the same as it’s football program. It’s a dumpster fire. Brooks is a good coach but with the shape it was in when he came in and lack of funds it will take a while to build anything that would be remotely competitive. I personally believe that Lamar could be a worthy sports program if the powers that be would let it. If they would realize how much revenue they would make in this area by putting more money in the sports programs and putting successful teams on the field/court. This area would start supporting them more. Nobody wants to go pay money and see their hometown team get humiliated.
Hard to do when you have first time AD’s that don’t have a clue what they are doing. Lamar will never have a successful athletic program until they get someone that knows how to hire coaches and raise funds.

Congrats Coach Davis!

Has the Enterprise asked for it? My gut says we might all be just bones otherwise,
I believe Elam will ask for it. Hopefully.

When do y’all think we will see the list of applicants?

O’Malley is a clown. Simple as that. If he passed on Svoboda he needs to be terminated immediately. Too bad the President of Lamar came from Marshall and hired his buddy to be the AD. All types of collusion going on in this university with no intention of winning in mind.
-
The issue is with these ADs with no pulse on the area or Texas football in general. They don’t know better.

For us that don't do Facebook, fill us in on what was said.
Pretty much someone put Lamar’s AD in contact with an Alabama assistant that was willing to take the HC job. Saban and O’Brien tried calling O’Malley for a recommendation and he ignored their calls.

Have y’all seen Damon West’s post on Facebook about an Alabama assistant?

The reason they didn’t recruit local talent is because they hired a crumb bum from San Diego. What did you expect?

Only two options here. Kevin Barbay or Art Briles.
Lindale (49) @ Vidor (28) - FINAL

I think if Vidor was to go 3 rounds deep, tougher schools would be willing to put them on the schedule. No matter what offense they run. Good teams want to play other good teams. If Vidor can put together an impressive season and go a couple rounds deep, decent team will want to play them pre-district
