^^^^^ This.. I couldn't agree more. The young man doesn't complain and just plays hard. He plays very smart and takes care of the ball. Nederland is very lucky to have him.

Not so sure about that! Maybe compared to some of the recent tournaments but in the History? Alvin is very athletic and has one of the best guards I've seen.. 6'6" and can shoot from deep. La Christian was also good, They had some height and good athletes. Lets not try to discredit what Nederland did tonight.. they beat a pretty darn good field. Oh and also beat a undefeated Kelly Bulldogs by a large margin. Congrats dogs on being the first Nederland team to win the classic.

I watched the Nederland and Alvin game and that's the best I've seen Nederland play as a whole this season. English went with a 7 man rotation and IMO that's the way for them to go.

To my understanding, Nederland needs to beat Alvin by 6 or more to advance to championship game. We will find out at 12 tomorrow.

Who said he wouldn't be missed? Did Nederland lose a D-1 player? Nederland is one of those teams that has players that are really good at certain things. One's strength is another's weakness, and it all works good when there all together. My point is when you lose a guy who was your PG for 3 years and had good chemistry with his team mates its going to be tough for a while until the new PG is able to adjust.That's all i am saying.. and yes Jalen would still be the PG if he didn't leave. Life would of been good with Jalen and its going to be good without Jalen.

Never..... LOL Need is a strong word. I've seen games where Jalen has helped Nederland and hurt them. Lets not get it twisted.. He was one of the better players on the team so it's going to effect the chemistry of the team. He did a lot of good things. When you have a guy who handled the ball for 2 years, it will take some adjusting. So let's be real, he's not irreplaceable. I think it will be rough at first but the boys and English will figure out whats best. They will get back on track...

What people don't realize is that Kelly beat Nederland in the fall league by 12 with Ballou at the point for the reasons Win Win pointed out above. Then Nederland turned around and beat Kelly without Jaylan in the HJ fall Shoot out.. The game last night was there for Nederland to win but they didn't take care of the ball and missed to many free throws, however Kelly earned the win and deserve credit. They executed better than Nederland and took care of the ball. Kelly has a good team and good coaching. I wish them luck. Nederland will bounce back and get it going.

He better be a good free throw shooter! I can see a hack a Chris in the near future for teams.

Also, let's not forget last years champion. They are back in it as well.

You know teams are running from that tournament. The officiating is terrible, unless your Ozen or Central. Darn Bmt Chapter /: It wouldn't surprise me if the YMBL went away in the next year or two.

The best way to beat a press is with spacing and passing, not a whole lot of dribbling needed. If English could get his team to the 3rd round in the playoffs with Kirby Hanley(sp) as point guard, he can find someone in this group to do the same.

Yes he can but he needs to take care of business in the class room. At this point I trust Hebert and Ary more. Darryl Jones is another good ball handler as well. Who knows, maybe the grass want be any greener in California and Ballou returns back to play ball with his friends.

You are correct. He plays the 3 but could get moved to the 1 or Hebert to the 1 and Ary stay the 3. You also have Darryl Jones who can play the 3 as Ary runs the 1. There's a bunch of different combinations, I'm curious to see what English does.

I think they have a lot of different options. I don't know what coach English will decide but you have Ary, Hebert, Nelson, Jones and Reid.
