IMO these are the positive and negatives of Boyd's game. Positives: Strong with the ball, good court vision, and physicaly strong. He bullies most kids he plays against in HS. Negitives: Speed, the ability to get off the floor, jump shot, height and attitude.

No way, he has a championship pedigree.

If Elkins takes care of the ball and takes away transition baskets from Ozen, then I give the advantage to Elkins. You have to make Ozen play a half court game. This is easier said then done. If Ozen can get the turnovers and run then they get the advantage.

Did Young play?

Winner of this game, IMO will win state.

Comeaux is a good player but Boyd does a lot for him. Take Boyd away and Ozen isn't the same team. That showed during the summer when Big Sandy and Kelly both beat Ozen by double digits without Boyd.

Maybe,or maybe not. It would be interesting to see if he could led them to the regional tournament twice. There wouldn't be a better way to prove your point about how average English is.

I think he should coach in Nederland once English leaves and lets see how easy it is to win in Nederland.

I think the voting is based on District numbers only but if they used total year numbers i think it still goes to Miguez. At one time MIguez was averaging 30 plus a game for a 4 for 5 game stretch. IMO they got it wrong.

I did not know this. Good break for Ozen. They just avoided a possible match up with Bush or Elkins in 2nd round.

I would maybe agree with that if Ozen blew Nederland out the first game but they didn't.

If Ozen is potential state contenders, then Nederland is also. This series could of and should of been 2-0 Nederland. If you watched both games and teams you would see there is more room for improvement on Nederland than Ozen. The main focal point is turnovers. Ozen does a pretty good job of taking care of the ball, and Nederland can improve in that department. My honest opinion is neither of these teams are state contenders. I hope I'm wrong.
