Oh contraire.  Your post went on to accuse Vidor of being a Nederland wanna-be.  If I lived in Vidor, and was a wanna-be, why not a Highland Park wanna-be?  Or a Carthage wanna-be?  Those two pile up SC’s like they’re giving them away at Wal-Mart.  And also, I’ve seen or heard nothing of anyone’s halftime performance rivaling Vidor’s.  It’s possible there are some, but I’m not aware of them.  Again, why you said Vidor copied Ned’s is beyond me.  And you wonder why Vidor didn’t choose Lumberton as a rival?  How long has Vidor played Ltown?  Not that many years.  As someone posted earlier, with all the new classifications, and schools constantly changing, there will be very few “Rivalries” created in the future.
And since you obviously didn’t google “tongue in cheek”, it’s a humorous or sarcastic statement expressed in a mock serious manner.  Vidor vs Ned is not a rivalry, but since Ned has defeated Vidor so many times over the years, I’m fairly certain the Vidor fans would love to beat Nederland more than most any other team.  Nederland wanna-be - not hardly.  Wanna-beat Nederland - no doubt, although it rarely happens.

No I think the official excuse for the last time we beat y’all was not an injured player. Something about you guys using an ineligible player that year, it was such a crushing defeat that you all went and hired a new football coach the next season.

You meant to say we only lost one in district game that season, 7 and 1 district champs and don’t you forget it. As I recall we beat Nederland at their own stadium and had an 8 and 3 season.

Well I don’t care if your backups were out... or if your running game was out... it was surely the backup kicker that sealed y’alls fate. Ask yourself, does any of this sound like excuses? Spot us 14 this year and see how that works out for you.

Finally! The rivalry game everyone has been waiting for. Anyone smell an upset in the air?

Good hard fought game, offense made some big plays tonight Nunez might have had 100 yards receiving and 200 rushing I know he was tired. Galloway made some really nice passes but crucial penalties caused long down and distance. Which forced the pass into coverage resulting in some turnovers that they scored off of, he was also under a lot of pressure from the BH defense. Dahlenberg ran hard and had a nice long catch, he's had a strong season thus far. I’d say our offense held their own tonight putting up 34 points but we needed the drive at the end that died inside the red zone. Best play call was the reverse to the kicker, they weren’t expecting #9 to get the ball and outrun everyone for a 65 yard TD. 
The defense has some injuries but fought hard with a lot of young guys playing and getting valuable experience. Some of our offensive players helped out by playing both ways with some situational substitutions. The defensive front was able to get some pressure in the backfield, we had several sacks and tackles for loss. We did better defending the pass tonight with tight coverage but gave up too many long runs in this game. We just can’t seem to get off the field and get a critical stop late in the game when we have to have it.
Nederland is going to be a tough game, it looks like they have it rolling again this season. This is one hell of a district and it’s shaping up to be a down year for us but next season we could fair a lot better. With the youngsters we have getting a lot of playing time now and with the stud senior quarterbacks that every other team in the league has moving on, there is still hope on the horizon in Pirate land. 

As everyone knows, this is the big rivalry game known as Two County Madness.  I see the Bulldogs falling short in a tremendous effort, but still winning District by beating PNG.  
The Bulldogs ecked out a close win last year, finally stopping the Pirates win streak against the Dogs (only 1 game, but that’s a win streak against Ned lol).
Okay, should be another good Vidor vs Nederland matchup.  And Vidor doesn’t have to water the field.  Both teams are used to playing in the mud, the blood, and the Gatorade.  

At this point in the season the Pirates are just playing to be spoilers. Injuries are mounting. Just keep on fighting Pirates! Play for each other.

Thanks again for your updates last night.  I have to say props to you Sir on this post.  One of the only posts I've seen on here in a very long time, where the fan on the underside didn't degrade the winning team, bash the refs, make silly excuses, or otherwise try and lessen the loss by trying to diminish the win of the other team.  Kudo's and much respect!   And yes, this district seems to be well matched with each other...not sure though how it will fair head to head with other districts, but with each other....on any given night for sure!
