  1. No dislike or disdain, I love PNG and their fans. Just a little "ribbing" between district foes. Ahhhh.....ok....no prob. I've always supported the Raiders, was very glad to see them reach the playoffs and such, guess was just a little surprised. Believe it or not, Lumberton has quite a few PNG fans that supported them in thier playoff berths!
  2. GoBigBlue1997, you really have a DISLIKE for PNG don't you? What is the root of this? Its like any suggestion given that may help PNG you are right there "ripping" it to shreds. What gives, man?
  3. I think that would be a great idea. And then we can let America decide who wins the PNG Head Coaching Job! Kids have enough choices at that age much less who is going to be their coach. And why should the Seniors get the priveledge of choosing the Coach? The freshmen are the ones who will have to have him around for 4 years. Let them decide. Even better, let the WhOLE team have some time with the applicants. And you made the point.....why not let them in on the decision making process since they will be spending the most time with him. This would not be putting the "weight" of the world on them in the process. If you spend some time with a coach, you will form an opinion pretty quickly. Afterall, as I said earlier, its just a suggestion thrown out on the table...not saying it will happen.
  4. Just gonna throw this out there, but do you think it would be such a bad idea if after the Board decides on the final two, that maybe, the two applicants could meet with the Senior players as well and let the players get thier take on the applicants? This before a final decision has been made. I don't know if it has ever been done, was just putting a thought out there.
  5. I think it would be between Garrett and Faircloth, IMO.
  6. I kinda feel the same way. You need to STAY where your "heart" is.
  7. I feel it should be the top 2, no more. I agree with bmckinney in that those schools with a large traveling fan base means more money.
  8. A good portion of that scrutiny that you say they have to endure, is dished out right here on this message board. I am in no way saying that the message board is the problem. We all know the problem. People who feel they have been wronged by such things as playing time is the problem. That, and people who think the coach should be able to win the thoroughbred race riding a donkey. Now, that is putting things into perspective! I guess we all tend to ride our "donkey's" at times while expecting to be winners......!
  9. I agree with you, 91bears. Why would he leave a program that he has built up and has had success with. I don't think its a "money" thing. There has to be something there that doesn't meet the eye.
  10. 91bears, you are sooo right!!!! Ticks me off when in the stands I hear some "in the stands" pretend coach yelling as if he/she could do any better.
  11. Best of luck to Coach Stowers.
  12. A lot of pressure these days being a Head Coach. My hat goes off to these guys and the scrutiny they have to endure.
  13. You're right, if you look at the total number of years each school has been in existance. PN-G has WAAAY more playoff games and wins just simply because the Indians have been around for nearly a century. However, if you look at playoff percentages in the 27 West Brook has existed, then West Brook has been alot more successful than PN-G. Not only in making the postseason, but winning in the postseason as well. BTW, just as a side note, PN-G is 0-8 lifetime against West Brook. They are 5a we are 4a that is to be expected. Come on guys PNG is a great program why all the attempts to discredit us I think WB is also. I don't understand why there is so much "hate" toward PNG...seriously, I don't. We're just trying to get the BEST coach for our program.......other schools would be doing the same.
  14. Skirtin the issue put out on the table. Fair question: elaborate...."Whats coming at PNG?" "Avoid PNG like the plague." If you put out there on the table, you should be able to back it up. PNG>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Honor...........Pride..............Tradition..............'Priceless'
  15. I would like to know "whats coming" as well. Care to elaborate?
  16. .....and the domino's begin to tumble.....
  17. Here's an article I found on Faircloth from this past November: [Hidden Content]
  18. Just curious......not about Stump, but was wonderin, did Faircloth go to Permian and return there as a coach?
  19. Trying to free up another 90,000 a year? Hmmm...... ???
  20. Well...It's not an opinion, it's a fact. He wants a state title. I've explained the situation a few other times on this board. It's that simple. PS His wife is Assistant Superintendant in Charge of Curriculum. Ok, thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize Danaher didn't want the list released. Thanks, again.
  21. It doesn't really matter what ANYBODY thinks...except for those seven people hired to make the decision. Young Coach, you definitely got that right !
  22. Just puttin this out there.....Danaher definitely has the record and would be a good coach. As far as moving, I believe his wife is a curriculum specialist for the CC school district and was at one time an Assistant Principal. So, its clear that she has a career as well. Now, I've heard he may have applied as a leverage to get more money from CC, but, I think he would have to consider his wife's career as well. Anyone else have an opinion along this line?
  23. I have to agree with you on that, Lamar1996. If a man can stay in the same area and make a move for more money, especially if it is in the same profession he has been in, he would probably move. The economics of the situation would dictate that.
  24. I guess thats one way to have leverage in getting a raise! BISD has decided to pay Stump what Stowers was making and he will be coaching both Central and WB. That is the only way they can afford to pay him what he told PNG he wanted. So, this is true, Stump WON"T consider PNG? My bad, living in Mid County, I was thinking of Central as a middle school....ok....this thread is beginning to have some wear and tear! ;D
